My mother had denied my hug. She said she would not honor our agreement until I found a way to convince Baurbius to go along with our plan.
I almost laughed when she called it our plan given that I knew nothing about the plan. With the way she spoke, I had a pretty good feeling that I was on my own on this one, just like always. When it came to her, I was always on my own, she had never helped me once, I was just a tool to her. I knew that but still, it hurt to admit it.
I already knew that our relationship would not amount to much but I still wanted to try, I wanted her to see me a someone she could use. She could use me for as long as she wanted if it meant that she would show me a bit of love.
Just a tiny bit, that was all I asked for.
But what was I to do now? It was like I had reached a dead end, Baurbius had shown absolutely no interest in knowing whatever my mother wanted from him, he simply did not care.
