The blazing fires have now dissipate in the lumbering giant, sequoia tree as it made its way out of the Malefis Forest.
On its tail are the remnants of the Imperial scouts regiment who're still trying to catch up and avenge their fallen comrades. Surely, the High Priestess can't control it forever.
Within New Fullsborough is the High Priestess Alexis Fuller who at this point is on the verge of collapse as she continuously channels a spell to control the entire tree to her will.
Thankfully, she still has her witches who are loyal to her rule by her side, protecting her from threats looming around them although a lot of them fell to battle.
The main imperial army are still catching up with them so they're still at danger but Alexis isn't without a plan.
They head north where the other witches covens lie. Although not on friendly terms, having the same enemy would make them friends, right?
Centuries of being condemned led all the witches to grow a deep-seated hatred for the imperials and having the chance to kill a large army would make even the most malicious witch a friend.
South-east from Alexis' position are two adventurers left to fend for themselves. Lowell Necros and Mavis Grand.
They were lost for some few hours but were able to find the road. With that discovery, they were able to follow the road and eventually find a small village with a tavern.
Mavis asked the owner for directions and managed to get it. It seemed like it was a long way from where they were. North-east from their current location to be exact.
What made the journey there perilous is the number of imperial outposts located in between. This was still near the Malefis Forest and these outposts served as guard houses to keep the witches from going further out.
Even so, they have to make the trip. Mavis made a promise with Alexis that they will meet again at Amberwitch. She can't let her down.
And so, the two, despite the danger ahead of them, marched forward. Determined to find more about Lowell's past and the whereabouts of Theresa.
