Noah and Nora stood silently as they watched their mother's expression change the moment Dr. Aldric left. Her usual calm mask slipped.
"Bastard! Arrogant, scheming—"
She muttered under her breath, her voice laced with anger.
Her words trailed off as she noticed Noah and Nora standing nearby. Her eyes widened slightly, and she immediately schooled her expression.
The anger vanished, replaced by a blank, unreadable face. But it was too late. The twins had already seen it.
Not that their mother was trying to hide her real self. She mostly just posed as a good mother and a calm lady for the news and media.
Her real persona was too different from her public image.
"Come. Your father is waiting."
She said, her voice softer now, though a hint of tension still lingered.
The twins knew their mother well, so they also knew that there was no one else in their mother's gaze other than their father.
