Chapter 7 - The Date 2

They ended up eating, Fēi looked up at Abaddon with a triumphant smile. Looking up to see Abaddon's little pout made Fēi chuckle a bit, Abaddon was arranging his sauce to the image of a dainty tree and clouds Fēi frowned slightly and muttered to herself.

"Baby…"

Abaddon's head snapped up immediately, Beiye who barely touched her food removed her wrist watch, rubbing her hand over the area where her cross tatoo was hidden. Fēi smiled awkwardly taking a sip of her wine.

"Just admiring your youthful spirit"

She looked at Beiye making a face before picking up her glass, Beiye who was pissed about Fēi's reaction to everything aggressively started slicing down her steak.

Abaddon went back to his food with a sigh.

"I do look younger than my age don't I ? So tell me, why are you here?"

"Excuse me?"

"You obviously didn't come here for a meal and I've certainly displeased you, why do you insist on staying?"

"My original plan was to stay for an hour to be nice but some people don't know the importance of my presence I'll leave any moment from now"

"Then leave"

"No! I haven't had dessert's yet"

"Dessert's?!"

"We'll you ARE paying so….."

"Get out!"

"I'm am trying to be nice here"

"Nice to whom? You are being rude just by staying"

"It's called an eye for an eye I'm being rude to you just how you've been…. Yes! I'm like a mirror reflecting your bad behavior, Being mannerless won't get you anywhere you know"

Fēi said, reaching out to take another champagne bottle from the silver bucket filled with ice. But Abaddon dragged the bucket away. Fēi's face was getting red out of anger, but smiled taking a glass of water putting it down with a smile.

"Instead of us….you in particular, trying to show off, just admit that YOU are intimidated by my beauty"

Abaddon immediately dropped the champagne he was about to open, setting his hands on the table making a clatter of utensils.

"My family status then"

Abaddon shut his eyes briefly before opening them.Fēi smirked slightly before taking a bite of her stake

"Why are you doing this to me"

"It's not like I want to do it, I'm following my orders from above"

Beiye banged her head on the cover of her book repeatedly. Abaddon's face paled, as he sat up straight his voice grown cold.

"Above"

He repeated,Fēi nodded she looked at Beiye seeing her chugging down another glass of wine only for the attendant to pour her another glass again. Beiye looked at Fēi with a panicked expression and Fēi was just confused before turning back to Abaddon.

"Yes I can never defy the words of the almighty"

-Why would God send his angel to dine with me?-

Abaddon thought before saying

"So God is setting me up with you?"

Fēi almost chocked in the champagne she was drinking before bursting into laughter. Beiye on the other hand, was frantically rubbing her wrist hoping for her cross to come out look at Fēi every few seconds.

"God? That is a strong word"

"Then who is this…..Who are you?!"

Abaddon was more confused rubbing his temples, Fēi's smile faded, she crossed her arms looking at Abaddon with a serious expression.

"You can't be serious"

Abaddon stared blankly at her, Fēi gasped softly genuinely shocked.

"I'm Fēi….Fēi Wei"

"Doesn't ring a bell"

Abaddon said as he picked up his book he was now calm after getting the impression of Fēi not being a celestial being. Fēi took out her phone before going to her instagram page, she shoved the phone in Abaddon's face. Abaddon snached her phone before looking at her page then back at her.

"I don't watch television…..Fēi Wei"

Fēi's hand was stretched towards Abaddon, he slid the phone to her but her hand was still stretched, Abaddon looked confused his voice dripping with annoyance as he asked.

"What do you want ?"

"Who are you?"

"A man who just wanted a peaceful lunch"

Just as Abaddon was about to resume eating, Fēi dragged his plate away from him.

"I understand you are forced to be here so am I and…..ah cooperation would be good for your stomach wouldn't it?"

Abaddon looked stunned before closing his eyes, not breaking eye contact with Fēi he brought out his business card slapping it on the table before taking his food.

"ZHĀN ROUXUAN CEO ABIGOR HOSPITALS"

" It's really a famous hospital….very global as well I hardly see you on the news"

"Unlike you I don't enjoy disclosing my personal life"

"Being a doctor isn't a good look on you"

"Excuse me"

"With you being mannerless I'm surprised it's one of the leading hospitals tell me how many patients have you killed so far?"

"SHUT UP!"

Beiye immediately started walking over but Fēi pushed her back to the bar

"We have to leave"

"No I'm handling just fine"

"Did you see the way he screamed at you?!"

Beiye started pushing Fēi out of the way but Fēi dragged her by her blouse

"Sit down SIT DOWN!"

Beiye lost balance falling, Fēi immediately went back to her seat looking at Abaddon. The silence was awkward until Abaddon asked.

"So what did your "god" send you here for?"

"Don't tell me you got whisked here without a purpose"

"I came here to eat"

Fēi laughed, pouring grape juice into her glass. Abaddon was starting to get scared something he haven't felt in almost 700 years

-Maybe my imps hit her with madness too many times-

Abaddon thought before looking up at Fēi who just finished her glass of juice

"So you are telling me you got roped here without details? So much for a blind date"

"Blind date?"

"Considering you were tricked to come here you aren't far off from me"

"What are you saying, what is going on?"

Abaddon tried his best to remain calm resting on his chair, both his Index fingers placed over his lips.

"It's a blind date. We are being set up!"

"By who?!"

"The almighty one"

Fēi looked at her phone's wallpaper, a picture of she and Foa Wei eating icecream. Abaddon chuckled sitting up straight.

"Do you know who I am?"

"I don't know and I don't care my hospitality has reached it's limit, my timer is up and eating a full lunch course with you with no dessert? Shamful!"

Fēi said as she wiped her hands, picking up her phone and walked away gracefully. Beiye soon caught up with her a furious expression on her face.

"What was that?!"

"What was what?"

"That behavior of yours that stunt you pulled?"

"The most important thing is that I went on a date?"

"Do you know who that man is?"

"A famous doctor who's license hasn't been revoked yet?"

Beiye pulled Fēi aside, the grip on her arms painfully strong, the seriousness in her eyes made Fēi's legs wobble in fear.

"There is a chance that man is a demon!"

Fēi looked at Abaddon, his back on view. She then turned back to Beiye poking her forehead, about to say something but Beiye forcefully pushed her hand away.

"Demons are bad at hiding their nature at least to humans."

"But-"

"-And if he was a demon how come my cross wasn't visible?"

"Fēi said raising both her arms, both her wrists bare. Beiye shook her head looking at her own fists, bare as well."

"Then why would ge say all DYING BREEDS are insignificant to him?"

"Humans tend to feel on top of the world most times you said it yourself."

"Purity-"

"If it makes you feel better when we get home we'll check the scroll's"

"That just makes me more anxious!"

"He is not a demon why are you over thinking?if uriel and Cassius were here they'll tell you-"

"They would tell you to shut up and listen to me because I was created before you I have seen battled and banished demons you may be chosen for this task at such a time as this but you know nothing!"

"Light-"

"-And if he is a demon which he is you just gave him a few pointers making him think YOU are an angel WHICH YOU ARE. I know you seek approval from everyone especially Cassius, and if Cassius And Uriel were here they would have told you the same thing, told listen to me and my lessons."

Purity had her head down, not willing to look up at Light. Everything Light said was the truth, but purity was too scared to admit it. She wanted approval from everyone in heaven including her earthly family and it was tearing her apart, it was sadness she felt a feeling she hated feeling.

"I am sorry"

Purity whispered softly, clutching her bag tightly. Light sighed as always, feeling sad for scolding her but she needed to learn.

"He gave you his card where is it?"

Purity handed the card to Light, her eyes moving swiftly, she used her other hand to flick the card.

"Who name's a hospital after a demon? A DEMON! It is a famous hospital, grandfather Wei is a philanthropist there right?"

"Yes"

"Good let's go"

As they walked away, 3 waiters each with carts full of simply divine deserts passed through the waiters heading to Abaddon's table.

"Must have a sweet tooth huh, come on let's go"

Light said, pulling purity along with her but purity didn't budge a bright smile plastered on her face as she thought the desert's and especially the cake was for her birthday.

-Maybe he's not a jerk after all-

"Purity let's go!"

"New plan!"

Purity smiled as she tugged her arm away from Lights grip, walking towards Abaddon. Abaddon seeing his desserts being layed out on his table, his face lit up like a kid on Christmas morning,it's even better knowing Fēi wasn't here to ruin this part of his meal.

Or so it was

Just as Rouxuan stretched his hand towards a red velvet cupcake, decorated with whipped cream and a cherry on top, a perfect manicured hand slapped his away. Fēi took the cupcake taking a huge bite out of it doing a little happy dance while savoring the flavor.

"I take back everything I'd ever said about you"

Fēi hastily sat down finishing her cupcake rubbing her hands together looking at all the pastries but her eyes fell on the medium sized jelly cake, before Fēi could grab a knife to cut it Rouxuan grabbed her wrist his grip more painful than Beiye's grip Fēi looked confused.

"How am I supposed to eat if you won't give me my hand?"

"I thought you were gone?"

"No not really"

"I waited 2 months to book a reservation here for this exact reason!"

Rouxuan gestured at the pastries on the table, before looking at Fēi his eyes hardened his voice serious.

"Get out!"

"Well I'm not leaving until I get a taste of that jelly cake"

Rouxuan took the jelly cake off the table, looking the other way. Fēi bent her head laughing before looking up at Rouxuan.

"I don't understand"

"There's nothing to understand"

"Why are you being so stingy all of a sudden just bring the cake!"

Rouxuan looked at one of the waiters who immediately took the cake away causing Fēi to gasp, before sitting down on her chair taking a parfait not breaking eye contact with rouxuan.

"Jerk"

---

Bieye sat stiffly at the bar, her fingers clenched around her cup. She didn't sip. She didn't breathe. Her eyes were locked on the table across from her, where Fei was doing the one thing she had explicitly been warned not to do.

Mess with a potential demon

Beiye could feel the heat of it — the presence in the air. Like every molecule was tense. She wasn't scared, not exactly. But she was panicking quietly, internally screaming: This girl is going to get us both killed.

Fēi, however, looked unbothered.

She sat across from Rouxuan, legs crossed, fork dangling lazily from her fingers. The man's brows were slightly furrowed, his dark gaze fixed on her with an unreadable expression. He had packed up the main dessert — the cake — as if to signal the end of their meeting.

Clearly, he expected her to leave.

But Fei leaned forward suddenly, taking the untouched jelly cake still sitting pretty on the tray from Rouxuan's end. Her eyes lit up like she'd discovered treasure.

Without asking, she reached out. "I don't care— this one's mine now, right?"

Rouxuan looked up slowly, jaw tightening.

"That's not for you," he said.

She ignored him, slicing a piece with the side of her fork and slipping it into her mouth like it was the most natural thing in the world.

"Mmm. Oh....yes, this is heavenly."

His eyes twitched.

"You're not supposed to be here."

"I'm not supposed to be a lot of things,"

she said with a shrug.

"But here I am. Jelly in hand. Living the dream."

From the bar, Beiye inhaled sharply.

" She's actually taunting him".

Rouxuan leaned in slightly now, resting one arm on the table, his voice low.

"You're either brave or foolish. Which one is it?"

Fei licked jelly from her lip and smiled. "Why not both?"

There was a beat of silence between them. A dangerous kind. The kind that felt like the sky holding its breath before lightning struck.

Then — her elbow bumped the table. A water glass tipped, wobbling toward Rouxuan. In a swift, almost otherworldly motion, he caught it.

Their hands brushed. Just briefly.

Something flickered in his eyes.

Fei blinked, momentarily stunned. Then she tried to speak, but—

He stood up. Slowly. Collected. Too calm.

He picked up the box with the rest of the desserts. "Enjoy your jelly cake."

And just like that, he walked out.

Leaving behind a girl with sugar on her lips, and an an assistant at the bar who looked like she'd just witnessed a near-apocalypse disguised as a date.
