Just as the laughter died down, Luviyah cleared her throat gently."If you're all finished teasing," she said with a soft smile, "come. Dinner is ready."
Everyone looked at one another, and the mood immediately shifted from light teasing to eager hunger. Even Ingi, who usually played it cool, was the first to stand up.
We followed Luviyah through the stone halls, eventually arriving at a long table filled with warm food—roasted meat, fresh bread, glowing fruits I didn't recognize, and crystal-clear water that sparkled faintly with magic.
We took our seats, and for a while, the only sounds were plates clinking and satisfied chewing. It was peaceful—almost too peaceful given what was coming.
About halfway through the meal, Frostfang wiped her mouth with a napkin, then looked straight at Luviyah.
"I've been wondering," she began, her tone calm but sharp, "how did you know where the Veil of Everfrost was? More than that… how did you find us exactly where we were?"
