Ji Chang, adept in Yin Yang numerology with foresight abilities, knew this was the meat of his own son but painfully ate it to not offend King Zhou, thus being looked down upon, and allowed to return to Xiqi.
That should have been the original course of the story, but now the future is full of uncertainties and changes.
