Chapter 15 - CHAP.14: A Hope

"Sorry, we can't pick you up now, because it's night," says Dayvon, sighing.

But before he added another sentence, Aelrin and Lyra gave Dayvon a big hug, tears in their eyes.

"Thank you very much, sir! They repeated over and over again.

After that, Dayvon tried to calm them down, and staring slightly at Lucas, he thought:

"I can't welcome two strangers of my own free will in this way.

If they might enter my service or Lucas' service, it would make it easier for us. "

Lucas, who had also thought of the same thing as Dayvon, stopped observing the scene and began to move forward with a smile near Aelrin and Lyra.

"I'm glad we found a solution for you, but there's still another problem to solve. "

While Lyra began to observe the scene wondering what the other problem was, Aelrin lowered his head, because he already had an idea of the problem.

"Are you nobles? Is that right? ", asked Aelrin with a lot of courage.

Lucas nodded slowly and took a serious look:

"You're right, we're nobles. I am Second Prince Lucas Ashir Ingriss, and he is my big brother, the first Prince Dayvon Von Ingriss. "

After hearing their name, Aelrin immediately knelt down, face down, feeling the atmosphere weigh in the air. But Lyra, who did not understand the situation, began to look at the scene with a confused look.

"Kneel down quickly, Lyra! We are in front of their Royal Highnesses! He said, raising his tone on Lyra.

And before Lyra could get on her knees, Lucas says:

"No, no need for that. It was we who approached you, because we saw something special in you. "

Aelrin raised her face with a curious look.

"Although we are ready to help you, we cannot explain your presence at the Palace overnight without a valid reason. We must find a valid reason to explain your presence at the Palace, "says Lucas, particularly looking at Aelrin with a corner smile.

Aelrin stood up with determination and looked at Dayvon and Lucas firmly while clenching his fists.

"What should I do?

I will do everything necessary to get us out of this situation and find care for my sister. "

Dayvon, satisfied with Aelrin's determination, began to have a mischievous smile.

Then, he leaned slightly forward and, still with his smile, he said:

"Very well, if you are ready for anything, it will not be very complicated. "

He paused, leaving a suspense in the air for Aelrin, and said:

"You can simply swear allegiance to my brother and become his faithful servants," he said with a smile, pointing to Lucas, who was watching the scene in silence.

Lucas, surprised by Dayvon's words, looked stunned, because he thought Dayvon was going to take at least one of the children under his wing.

While Lucas was still in shock, he turned to Dayvon with a questioning look.

"You're sure, Dayvon? Do you really want to leave them to me? " he asked with a doubtful look.

Then Dayvon shrugged his shoulders slightly and, with a smile, he said:

"Why not? They could be useful to you. "

Dayvon approached Lucas, bent down slightly to his ear and, while holding his shoulder, he said:

"It was you who practically found them, so they must logically be at your command.

In addition, don't worry about me, I spotted some talents at the Academy, so it will be fine." he said with a satisfied smile.

Aelrin, who listened carefully to their conversation, felt her heart beat fast. He looked at Lyra, who still seemed a little confused by the situation, took her hand and smiled slightly at her to reassure her.

While Lucas and Dayvon were talking, he stepped forward slightly, knelt in front of Lucas and looked him determinedly in the eyes.

"If that's what needs to be done, I'll do it.

From that moment on, I, Aelrin, swear allegiance to Prince Lucas, and I promise to serve him loyally until my death. "

Lyra, having seen her brother's actions, vaguely understood the situation. She approached her brother and knelt in turn.

"I also swear to you faithfulness, Your Highness Lucas. Even if I'm not as strong as my brother, I'll do everything I can not to be a burden to you and my brother," she said in a weak but courageous voice.

Lucas, surprised but touched by their determination, sighed and, with a slight smile, he said:

"Very good.

If you want it too, so be it. I accept that you are by my side and that you serve me.

But know that life at the Palace will not be easy, and the competition will be tough. "

So Aelrin and Lyra exchanged a smile full of hope and gave each other a big hug, because they felt a better future available to them.

Dayvon, satisfied with the turn of events, says:

"Perfect, since everything is settled. We will first take you to an inn so that you can spend the night," he said, looking with disgust at the house they were in.

Then, he squats at the level of Aelrin and Lyra and says:

"Then, tomorrow during the day, I will send guards to pick you up and bring you back to the castle.

And once at the palace, we will also take care of little Lyra's treatment," he said, stroking Lyra's cheek, who began to blush slightly.

Afterwards, Dayvon stood up and, heading towards the wooden door, he said:

"Come, children, let's leave this place," he said as he left the little house, followed by Lucas.

So Aelrin and Lyra got up with joy and rushed to follow Dayvon and Lucas, who were waiting for them outside.

"By the way, Aelrin, can you guide us to the main aisle? Lucas asked with an embarrassed look, because he couldn't find his way.

"No worries," says Aelrin, determined to execute the first order received by Lucas.

After managing to leave the dark neighborhoods of the capital, Dayvon and Lucas escorted Aelrin and Lyra to a modest inn in the capital, located not far from the Royal Palace.

Dayvon made sure that the two were missing nothing and that they had everything they needed before they could take leave.

"Rest well, tomorrow a long day awaits you," says Dayvon, giving them a reassuring smile as he leaves the room.

"See you later," says Lucas, waving to them and following Dayvon.

Once alone, Aelrin and Lyra exchanged a look filled with hope and joy. They sat on the bed, Lyra began to lightly shake her brother's hand.

"Do you think it's really going to be okay, Aelrin? Lyra asked in a shy voice and a doubtful air.

Aelrin began to caress his head and smile at him.

"Don't worry, everything will be fine, Lyra. We were given a chance to change our destiny. And I promise you that I will do everything I can to ensure your safety. "

Lyra, reassured by Aelrin's words, put her head on her knees. They spent the rest of the evening discussing what their new life at the Palace might look like and all sorts of things.

DURING THIS TIME:

Dayvon and Lucas returned to the palace by the same discreet path they had taken, avoiding the guards with ease, while sneaking into the dark areas of the garden.

Once in Lucas' room, Lucas fell on his bed, exhausted but happy.

"Thank you, Dayvon, for this evening," he said, yawning.

"It was a wonderful evening. "

Dayvon, who was preparing to leave the room, turned around and said:

"We're welcome, little brother. I hope this outing helped you clear your head," he said with a smile.

"Don't worry about Aelrin and her sister, I will take care of them while waiting for the end of your punishment," he said, making a gesture of his hand as he left the room.

Lucas spent a few more moments admiring the ceiling of his room, lost in his thoughts, then finally fell asleep.

THE NEXT DAY:

Maya entered Lucas' room and began to open the curtains of the room.

"It's time to wake you up, Your Highness. "

Following his words, Lucas closed himself back in his blankets.

"Wake up, your breakfast is getting cold," says Maya, standing next to Lucas' bed.

Lucas, still half asleep, growled when he heard Maya's voice and had the sunlight hitting his eyes. He turned in his bed while hiding in his blankets to avoid the sunlight that was already illuminating the entire room.

"Maya, five more minutes, please..." he whispered in a sleepy voice.

Maya, with an impassive look, says:

"Your Highness, please wake up before your meal cools down. "

Lucas sighed and ended up sitting on his bed, his hair messy and his eyes sleepy.

"It's okay, I'm up.

But you know you can let me rest more, since I'm not allowed to leave my room during the week. "

"Despite everything, I have to wake you up every morning and make sure you take your meals every day," says Maya, letting out a small smile.

So Lucas got up from his bed, his hair in a mess, while staying in his pajamas, and sat on the chair near the window, through which we could see the alley of the Palace.

He began to take his lunch, which was on the table in front of him, while admiring the Palace through the window.

Looking through the window, he saw three royal guards leave the Palace. Then Lucas began to think:

"Are they sent by Dayvon to pick up Aelrin and her sister? "

"In any case, I can't wait to see them again," said Lucas while looking through the window

As promised, in the morning, three royal guards arrived at the inn where Aelrin and Lyra were, and they taked on the door of their room.

Then Aelrin opened the door and saw three royal guards, with an athletic and imposing build.

"Are you Aelrin and Lyra? ", asked a serious-looking guard, staring at Aelrin.

"Yes, it's us," says Aelrin with an intimidated but determined look.

"Please follow us. His Highness Dayvon ordered us to escort you to the Palace," said the guard, signaling them to follow them.

Then Aelrin and Lyra looked at each other and began to follow the guards with a determined air.

"They are bigger than Dayvon and Lucas," whispered Lyra.

Then Aelrin said in a low voice:

"It's normal. According to rumors, His Highness Dayvon is only 16 years old, but he is almost catching up with his guards in size, and for His Highness Lucas, he is only 7 years old, but he is already my size, I who have nine. "

"So, they are fantastic." says Lyra with a surprised look and a dreamy look.

"Stop daydreaming and follow the guards," said Aelrin, lightly tapping Lyra's head.

So they rushed slightly to catch up with the guards who were escorting them and began to follow them.

A few minutes later, Aelrin and Lyra arrived at the palace, escorted by the guards that Dayvon had sent.

They were impressed by the grandeur of the palace, its beauty and the lush gardens that surrounded it.

They were then led to the back of the palace, to Dayvon's personal garden, where Dayvon was waiting for them while enjoying pastries while drinking tea.

Dayvon, having seen them coming, said:

"Welcome to the palace," he said with a warm smile.

"I hope you had a good night," he said, signaling the guard to dispose.

Aelrin and Lyra nodded, intimidated by the scenery and presence of Dayvon, who was accompanied by two knights of the Order of White Lions.

"Yes, thank you, Your Highness. "

Dayvon got up and approached them with a reassuring smile, having noticed their anxiety.

"Don't worry, you don't have to be so tense," he said in a soft voice.

Then Dayvon crouched slightly with a smile and said:

"You are here under my protection and you are also my brother's servants, so everything will be fine. But before that, I have to introduce you to the chief butler of the Palace to help you adapt to your new life at the palace and that he can give you tasks to do. "

Aelrin and Lyra bowed their heads, holding back their joy, and said:

"We will do everything necessary, Your Highness. "

Dayvon straightened up, happy to see determination in them, crossed his arms thoughtfully and began to stare at one of the knights who accompanied him.

"Hey, Daniel, wouldn't you like to take a student right now? This child could be an interesting student," he said, holding Aelrin's shoulder.

Aelrin, surprised by what he had just heard, had sparks in his eyes.

Then Daniel, who was a handsome young man, with small black hair and blue eyes, said:

"I will see what he will be capable of, Your Highness, then I will make my decision," he said, scrutinizing Aelrin from top to bottom.

Then Aelrin began to shed tears, with an amazed look, and said:

"Thank you for everything, Your Highness. I will do everything not to disappoint you and His Highness Lucas. "

Dayvon, with a warm smile, said:

"It's okay, just serve Lucas with loyalty," he said, stroking Aelrin's head.

Dayvon, having called on a servant, said:

"Bring them to the chief butler and tell him to take care of them," he said, sitting down in his chair.

"Lyra, we will go with you to see a doctor after the butler has changed your outfits," he said, looking at Lyra with a warm look while drinking his tea.

Then Aelrin and Lyra bowered their heads, full of gratitude, and said:

"Thank you very much, Your Highness. "

"Do your best," said Dayvon with a soothing look.

After these words, they began to follow a servant of the palace who directed them to the chief butler.

And while they followed the servant, Aelrin and Lyra exchanged a look filled with joy and hope.

"From today, let's do everything we can to prove that we deserve to be here," said Aelrin, holding Lyra's arm with a smile.

"Yes, my brother, let's do everything we can." Lyra replied with an amazed look.
