Phili sat drowsily in the swaying carriage, his head resting against the side.
The carriage came to an abrupt halt, jolting the merchant awake just in time to stop himself from slamming into the ceiling.
"Mr. Phili, we've arrived," the driver called out.
Grabbing the box of magic cores beside him, Phili quickly checked the contents. Satisfied that nothing was missing, he let out a breath of relief, opened the carriage door, and stepped down.
As soon as his feet hit the ground, his brow furrowed. He lowered his voice and whispered to the driver, "Didn't I tell you to stop at Eagle Town? I was going to walk the rest of the way."
The driver bowed his head apologetically. "President Phili, you were sleeping so soundly, I didn't want to wake you, so..."
Before he could finish, a guard at the castle gate called out, "Mr. Phili, have your servant move the carriage. The Baron is waiting for you in his study."
