Kathy eyed the foreign woman rising from her seat on the floor. She donned casual clothes, but they all looked aged as if she had been there for a long time. However, no ordinary human could last in the spirit realm… especially near a gateway for entities.
The foreign woman chuckled and dusted her behind. "I know that look in your eyes. How could a human last for so long inside this house? The answer is… I never was here. I came out of that gateway and landed here. The mist could easily poison and incapacitate me. It was safer to stay close to the only room it wouldn't flood… the room where the gateway is."
"A human can't travel through gateways, either." Kathy shifted into an alert stance. "Are you an unfortunate soul… or are you a demon?"
