A cacophony of screams forced Rhodes to wake up. He shot up to sit. However, the ground under him was too hard and uneven for a hospital floor. He looked around and saw a strange world. It was like he was stuck in a desert, with the sky turning yellow and gold. The muted brown and yellow sand spanned and joined the sky. Only the occasional debris broke the sight.
Rhodes dusted his bottom and sleeves from the sand and small rocks. His eyes swept the surroundings for any movements. However, all he had were the shifting sand and the echoing screams.
"Killian? Can you hear me?" Rhodes called out and walked through the soft ground. He even decided to remove his asylum-patient slippers. The sand poured through the gaps, and he felt increasingly uncomfortable. "The sand is cold, but it's supposed to be morning. What place is this?"
