Genesis was at first worried about the increase of age. He thought that he would grow old and die if he kept aging like this. However, he was reassured because of the fact that the dragon was truly fake, a trick by the Heart perhaps.
Genesis was now older and stronger. If anything, it would have been better if the Heart did not increase Genesis's age. Genesis took his time to cut his long hair with his sword, as it was blocking his already limited vision. He carefully took his golden sword and cut each hair one by one, as to reduce the risk of hurting himself.
He had never had to cut his hair before, atleast he did not have to cut his hair with an extremely sharp, strong and powerful golden sword. When Genesis was done, he gazed the long and ebony hair, then he was on his way, on his way to slay the last Heart of the White Room.
Genesis could only pray, his comrades solved whatever mental problem that they had to deal with. If not, they might stay aging until they turn to corpses.
Genesis put his sword inside his sheath and the sheath was torn. Genesis wondered why this was until he remembered that he had never sheathed his golden sword before. It was kind of sad. He had never sheathed his sword before because he was always in a constant state of battle.
Even with Debmaw, he had never sheathed his sword. He felt safe with the bird, but the constant echoes of battle stayed with Genesis. It would take an eternity of peace for him to get rid of the habit.
Genesis looked at his torn sheath and discarded it. He then continued on with his journey. Genesis kept a watchful eye for any Agents or beasts that could surprise him. None came.
Genesis went on with his adventure. There were many twists and turns in his way to the Heart, but the journey was relatively safe. It was not until Genesis encountered the traps that it became lethal.
It was on one of Genesis's random steps that it started. When Genesis put his foot down, the pressure triggered something. The floor suddenly went downwards like a speeding elevator. The ceiling above him went below as well. All of this happened right in the location of Genesis.
Genesis stabbed his sword into the nearby wall, avoiding him from falling into a pit of despair. When he finally put his hand outside of the pit, the second falling came. The roof above him fell and he used his left hand to hold onto the outside of the pit and his right was meant to keep the ceiling from falling on him, even if it was just for a little while.
Genesis thought that the ceiling would be heavier. However, the chunk of flesh stopped falling right on the hilt of his sword. It was almost disappointing. He expected that the sheer weight of the chunk and the speed it was falling at to be more powerful. But instead, it was light.
What was surprising was the fact that the chunk was hollow. Genesis knew it was hollow because he looked into the gaping hole his sword pierced into the cube.
It was only after the pests appeared that Genesis knew he was in trouble. Genesis climbed out of the pit and when he looked at his arm, it was littered with maggots.
He tried his best to shake them off, but they bit into his skin and started to eat away. Genesis felt enter and exit his arm, they then went inside the cube like nothing happened. Genesis thought that this was useless because his hand was healed by the tentacles he had put there.
He was right initially. His hand immediately healed up, but he felt something inside his chest. His chest felt heavy. He started to feel pain throughout his entire body. He took a kneel, using his sword to barely support him.
The pain was forever increasing. His felt it more and more, as the seconds went by the agony increased. It got to the point that he was howling in pain. He writhed with the amount of displeasure and discomfort he was in. His eyes were blurry, his vision fading.
He could not pass out. Not here, at least. If he passed out here, then it would all be over. All he had yearned for would just be an unaccomplished dream. He tried to push through the pain.
He tried to stay awake. It was all almost useless. He groaned and yelled as he was forced to stab his hand to stay awake. When the pain stopped, his hand was not healing. That was strange if his hand did not heal what was the point of putting tentacles in his hand.
His hand was not healing! How so, he had been sure that he regenerated faster thanks to the adding of tentacles. Had the maggots done something to him. If so, he had to find out.
Genesis used his sword and gingerly pressed it against his lower mouth, blood spilled out, but the cut was still there. Now, he was sure he had lost his acquired healing property because of the maggots that went through his hand.
Now, he was vulnerable, more vulnerable than he had ever been. He had no healing factor. All he had was a strong will, a divine soul and a human body. No patchwork or extra ability to make the arduous journey even more difficult.
He groaned as he rose from the floor. He had to keep going to see them again. He had to hope for life. Genesis trotted forward and never looked back. He navigated through the conflicting walls of the maze and kept pressing forward.
Genesis was faced with another trap once again. He entered a narrow hallway. He was skeptical at first, but he decided to traverse through the hallway.
While walking through the long and stretched out hallway, he noticed something. Something strange. Something wrong with the way the hallway worked. He noticed the more he went through the hallway, the tighter it became as if the walls were closing in on him.
Genesis took a simple glance over his shoulder and the sight he saw caused him to run for his life. He saw that the walls of the hallway were closing. All the ground he had stepped on before was now replaced with flesh, the flesh of the wall.
He ran and ran, but it seemed the hallway never came to an end. In fact, it looked like it only got more and more tight. It was hard to move. His pace was limited and constricted. It was not until he saw the light at the end of the tunnel that he believed more and more.
He used his sword, bright as the rising sun, to slice through the closing hallway. He made his way through the walls that crushed and he got closer to the end each time he swung his sword.
When he finally reached the end of the tunnel, he was faced with an ultimatum. The floor was not there. All Genesis could hear was the sound of chittering, lots of it. He did not know what was down there, but if he stayed at the edge, he was going to find out.
The wall kept expanding past the hallway. It gave Genesis limited seconds to think. There was a legde at the other side and he would have to jump or face the wrath of the creatures down below.
He made as quick calculations as he could and he estimated that there were at least a hundred of the chittering creatures down below. A number he was not comfortable to face. So there was only one clear option...
Genesis stepped back, as to gain a running start and he ran and flew through the air onto the ledge. He stretched his sword out and stabbed it into the ledge. Genesis smiled as he anticipated the retreat of the ledge, Genesis was a certified genius after all.
He used his strength to climb onto the next pathway, but as he looked behind, he saw the creature from down below scaling the walls.
The first thing he saw was its color. It was a bold mix of white, a brownish orange, and dark black. The next thing he noticed was its teeth. It was spewing tons of drool, as if it was famished for centuries. It had multiple mouths, each one making the repetitive chittering sound. Its body was a brown length. It resembled a centipede, except for the fact it had a million more than a hundred legs. It kept rising. Each time a new mouth formed, Genesis wondered if there were truly a hundred creatures or one. The darkness became more comforting than the light. The darkness kept the horrendous creature hidden. The light let it be shown in all of its hideous glory.
Genesis's skin squirmed at the sight of the creature. It was truly the definition of ugly. With all the saliva spilling out of its mouth, it must have been bathing in it. Genesis quickly turned away and left into another hallway, this one being shorter than the last.
It only took a few steps for Genesis to realize that if the creature could crawl out of its hole enough to be seen. What stopped it from reaching Genesis. When he first made the realization, he knew the creature would want to catch him off guard and attack from the least suspecting place. So as he moved forward, he purposely relaxed his shoulders and a few seconds later, he whipped around, sword in hand and he made contact with the creatures maw. The impact shattered its teeth, but it only damaged a small portion of the creature's body. So Genesis ran, but he was not fast enough.
When he exited the hallway, he was ambushed by the creature and bit into. He screamed out but gained his composure. He stabbed 3 of the creature's mouths and started to run away again. His armor was broken and he was bleeding out. He made his way at random turns, with the sole hope to get the monster to stop the chase.
It was fast, unyielding and hungry. The creature must have been abandoned by the White Room for some mysterious reason because everywhere it went, saliva followed.
Genesis could feel the huger of the beast inside his soul. It was ravenous and utterly disgusting. He tried to hide, but it could always find him. No matter what it was searching.
It was not until Genesis had a crazy plan that he had a chance of losing the beast in its chase. He went back into the hallway, which ended in a ledge and he waited for the beast to come.
He saw it, it drifted into the hallway and approached Genesis. It was fast, almost too fast. But it was just fast enough for Genesis to react to. As the insect blitzed through the hallway, Genesis flipped over it, sending the creature back down to the pit. What assured Genesis that it could not reach him was that, when it sped past Genesis, it slammed into the wall with speeds that its body could not handle.
The long creature lost countless mouths and blue blood painted the walls of the pit in a gruesome art piece. The creature was gone.
Outsmarted by Genesis. Genesis took on more glance into the pit before continuing on his not so merry way. He did not encounter much, except for the usual navigation issues. Then he saw it a huge door leading into what Genesis hoped was the last Heart of the White Room and his comrades. He pushed the door open, not knowing what to expect. Except for violence and death, a lot of death. Genesis was greeted by the sight of multiple comrades, exiting different doors as well. Some were together, others were lone. Some were old and some were slightly older.
