Without warning, Alpha imagined the abyss coming back and destroying all they created. Gamma imagined the flow being cut off with so many possible avenues destroyed. Omega imagined the laws they made being broken beyond repair, ending all they had done.
They were afraid of these outcomes, yet they did not question why they saw them. Instead, they discovered a presence they had never felt before. Somewhere on a world of life, they felt as if one of them resided there.
With minds of fear and curiosity, the three headed towards the planet that would later be called Earth.
Alpha arrived first and sought to immediately pinpoint the presence. He rotated the planet back and forth trying to find it. Gamma arrived second. She stopped the planet's time to observe it with no distractions from the surface. Omega arrived last. They stopped the other two and pointed towards a small island off the east coast of a continent.
As the three descended, they noticed that the island was smaller than they originally saw. In addition, it was just a pillar of stone sticking out of the ocean. The pillar was under a seemingly constant and targeted storm rarely seen on this small of a scale. Alpha tried to remove the storm, yet it pushed back and overpowered him to remain. Gamma tried to fast-forward the storm to the end of its life, yet it seemed to be endlessly long, never letting up. Omega looked into the laws governing this storm, yet, even with their sole control over laws, some language they did not know was written in the storm.
Now more confused than scared, they all descended upon the pillar with each landing in a different spot. Alpha landed on the northern end of the pillar. With only smooth rocks and small patches of moss, Alpha was only pelted by the rain. Gamma landed on the center of the pillar. She continued into a small grotto shielding the insides from the storm, Gamma only observed unimportant small animals. Omega landed on the southern end of the pillar. An area of pure rock, jagged and fierce, yet only Omega could gain a lead on what they wanted to find.
With Omega finding something, it led the three further down, towards the ocean. Almost being touched by the crashing waves, there sat a small entrance to a hovel within the pillar's side. With some effort, the three expanded the entrance and entered the small hovel.
Within the hovel, there was a small pool of water in the shape of a ring with a child sitting within. The child was unlike anything they had ever seen. With the bottom half of a spider, the upper body of an insect, and the head of a human, and the eyes of an insect as well. It inquisitively touched the water and observed the ripples. The child laughed in such a way that the three felt compassion.
The three debated internally on what to do with this seemingly child god.
Alpha went first as always, "One of us could raise the child as those higher thinking life does. Potentially, it could become the fourth god."
Gamma looked to Alpha, "Raise a child, look to what we've been. None of us would willingly stop our curiosity just to raise this." Gamma exaggeratedly motioned to the child. "I say we alter the child's laws to allow it to live a mortal life rather than an infinite one like ours." Gamma stopped only to look into her staff at the flow of time before smiling slightly.
Omega looked at both of them and said, "A godly child born to unseen circumstances must mean something. I agree with Alpha's idea though it may go even further. This child could be the true god born of the universe and it may be meant to watch over it rather than us."
Gamma stopped Omega before they could continue further. "Now now, let us have a bet then. If the child has brought something to the universe that well and truly changes it more so than we can with our dominions, then we will subscribe to Omega's idea. Should the child's gift to the universe be as ours are, we allow it to be raised and become a fourth god. But should the child just be a god in power and presence only, we remove it's divinity and allow it to live a mortal life." She looks to the two for confirmation as the child has just crawled to her leg and started poking her.
The two other gods nod, though Alpha asked, "Then who will stay until we discover the child's gift or lack there of?"
Omega walked over to Gamma and the child and picked it up, "I shall stay as I am the closest looking to life of us three."
