The moment Edmund left the room, Primrose threw herself onto the bed and screamed into the pillow as loud as she could.
How dare Edmund do something like that?! Why did he always lift her up out of nowhere and make her feel so flustered?
And the worst part was why did she get embarrassed so easily around him?
Where was her pride? Had it already disappeared?
She rolled over dramatically, not even caring that her hair was now a total mess. She took a deep breath and then another, trying to slow down her racing heart.
It worked. Well … for five minutes.
Then, out of nowhere, her mind dragged her straight back to that soft kiss Edmund had given her.
She could still feel the warmth of his touch. The way his hard muscles pressed against her. His hands lifting her, holding her close.
Damn it!
Primrose kicked the blanket off the bed so hard it fell to the floor, then got up in a huff.
She started pacing around the king's bedroom like a restless cat, mumbling to herself.
