Chapter 57 - CH 57

A Week Passes in a Flash

The week went by in a hurry.

The spaceship continued to sail on autopilot.

During this time, the girls enjoyed themselves, playing with dinosaurs on the prehistoric island, while Bai Yu focused on learning and training.

"Ikoku!"

Bai Yu swung his sword, unleashing a massive slashing shockwave. It tore through the air at incredible speed, covering an immense range.

"Boom!"

As the impact roared across the sea, Bai Yu stood on the shore, taking a deep breath before sheathing his blade. He gazed at the waves still rippling from the aftermath of his attack.

"Clap, clap, clap!"

Dorry and Brogy, accompanied by Oimo and Kashii, approached him, clapping enthusiastically.

"You've basically mastered all the techniques," Brogy said approvingly. "Some you've even perfected. The rest… is just a matter of battle experience."

However, he frowned slightly. "But your raw strength is clearly not on our level. So why do your attacks feel stronger?"

Throughout their training, the two giants had observed Bai Yu's weaknesses—his lack of physical durability, lack of refined swordsmanship, and relative inexperience in battle.

And yet—

The moment Dorry suggested that fighting with everything on the line would be the best way to learn, they got beaten up instead.

Bai Yu's abilities were simply too broken.

"I incorporate Conqueror's Haki infusion," Bai Yu explained. "It's a specialized technique…"

His raw power couldn't compare to that of the giants, but his unique abilities compensated for his shortcomings.

Dorry suddenly understood. Unfortunately, it wasn't something they could learn themselves.

A Call to Action

"Friends," Bai Yu said with a grateful smile. "Thank you for your teachings, but it's time for me to leave."

His voice grew firm. "The waves of this great era are about to rise. There are too many giants still waiting for your return. Don't let your people be deceived and oppressed ever again."

"Boom!"

At Bai Yu's words, Dorry and Brogy slammed their weapons into the ground in fury.

Oimo and Kashii's ordeal had infuriated them. The World Government had outright lied to their brothers.

And if Oimo and Kashii had been deceived… how many more giants were suffering under similar lies?

Realizing this, Dorry and Brogy set aside their long-standing duel.

They would return to the sea—to restore the glory of the Giant Warrior Pirates!

"I can send you directly to Water 7," Bai Yu offered. "You can build new giant ships there."

As he spoke, he pulled out a large pile of gold from his storage ring.

"Helping a friend means seeing it through to the end," he added with a smile.

"Wow! What a noble kindness!" Brogy exclaimed.

Dorry, overcome with emotion, pounded his chest. "Brother Bai Yu, you will forever be our friend!"

Oimo and Kashii were in tears.

They had never met a human so righteous and selfless. They were deeply moved.

Bai Yu smirked. "This is too easy… If this keeps up, I might just run off to Elbaf right now."

Acting decisively, he first teleported the girls back onto the spaceship.

Then, he transported the four giants directly to Water 7, leaving them with a hefty sum of gold before departing after another emotional farewell.

Suspicious Stares from the Crew

When Bai Yu returned to the ship, he was met with strange looks from all the girls.

Puzzled, he frowned. "What's wrong? Do I have something on my face?"

Nami narrowed her eyes. "Tell me, how much gold did you give them?"

Robin chuckled. "This isn't like you, Demon King. What's your real plan?"

Makino giggled softly. "It's certainly… an interesting move."

Conis looked confused, while Nojiko simply sighed, as if words weren't even necessary.

Tashigi remained adorably clueless.

Meanwhile, Kaya and Vivi protested, "Big brother Bai Yu would never have bad intentions! We shouldn't doubt him!"

"You two really understand me."

Bai Yu grinned, pulling Kaya and Vivi into a hug and kissing each of their foreheads. Their faces turned bright red.

Nami crossed her arms. "I know you too well. You're trying to recruit them as your subordinates, aren't you? But you haven't known them long enough, so you held back from asking directly."

Robin, as insightful as ever, smirked. "That was a strategic mistake. Since they admire you now, you're too soft to push them further. Had you used a firmer approach, they might already be following you on a new ship."

Bai Yu fell silent for a moment.

"Noted. I'll remember this, you two…"

After giving them a long, unreadable look, he finally said, "You don't understand what it means to have pride. Giants can only be convinced—never forced."

"They won't kneel unless faced with true destruction or genocide. Death means nothing to them."

Giants were simple, loyal creatures.

Bind them with honor and righteousness.

Then show them strength.

After that, everything would fall into place.

Bai Yu had no intention of mistreating them.

But I might be overthinking things.

The Next Destination

"Where are we now?" Bai Yu asked.

Nami sighed. "Since we left, the ship has been flying on autopilot. We're now heading toward the Florian Triangle…"

Her expression turned troubled. "We're moving way too fast. It's only been a few days, and we're already nearing the Sabaody Archipelago—the end of the first half of the Grand Line."

She pursed her lips. "Honestly… I feel like I don't know enough yet."

Nami was a navigator.

But with the spaceship covering vast distances in record time, she felt like she wasn't growing fast enough to keep up.

It frustrated her.

Bai Yu reached out and gently ruffled her hair. "When we settle down, I'll arrange more learning opportunities for you."

"And besides," he added with a grin, "isn't your dream to map the entire world?"
