Lyra stood in a daze as Casian pulled back. The raw emotion in his eyes still lingered, but this time, he stopped himself.
"Do you like the gown?" he asked, brushing his thumb over her knuckles.
Casian didn't want to scare Lyra and struggled to keep his hunger in check. Yet, every time his eyes fell on her now-swollen lips, his beast growled in frustration.
"We were almost there, Casian," Hunter grumbled in displeasure.
Since that night of the rut, Casian had barely touched Lyra. He forced himself to keep his desires at bay, convinced he had taken advantage of her. Yet, a part of him blamed her for coming to him that night when he had clearly warned her to stay in her chamber.
