Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 : Slain the Beast(2)

Crusch returned to the frightening armies who were afraid to move a single finger to the White Whale. The despair and hopelessness growing inside of them, prevent their body from think any act for survival.

"STAND UP!! LIFT YOUR FACES!!! TAKE YOUR WEAPON!!!"

The whole army gasped and, shocked by her, suddenly shouted to them. The hint of anger and strictness mixed up, making them realize how fearless their leader is.

"Look at that boy!! He's so weak and fragile, one blow from a monster and he will die!! But!! He's still unarmed!! He's a powerless boy whose defeat I have seen with my own eyes!! He's weaker than anyone else here! Yet, he's shouting louder than anyone!! That we can still do this!!"

Subaru rides Patrasche at full speed, expertly luring the White Whale while Rem engages one of the creatures in battle. With that potent witch scent, he skillfully distracts the other White Whales, ensuring they don't target his injured comrades.

"So how can we sit around, looking at the ground? If our weakest man hasn't given up, how is it acceptable for us to kneel in defeat!!? Raise your weapon!! We going to bring that monster the true death!!!"

Right after Crusch's speech, all of them stood up from the ground, taking their weapon out. Injuries or not, they need to work together to survive. If death really wants to take them, then it will be their honor rather than a meaningless death.

"TROOPS!!! ATTACK!!!"

That's what's crazy means, Subaru.

Your presence is already enough to bring the despairing armies into hope.

He willingly chose to become prey for the 400-year-old monster, confronting the stark reality of death without flinching. While others hesitate, paralyzed by fear, he is the one who keeps moving forward, undeterred even if it means risking his own safety.

"Awooooo!!!!!"

The beast emerged from the black fog, ready to ambush Subaru. That poor guy failed to react, surprised by those attacks as he thought he would die at that moment.

Not until,

THUUUUUUUDDDDD!!!!!

A giant hammer strikes, smashing right on top of the White Whale's head, making the beast slammed into the ground, causing an earthquake.

"GET THE WAY, SUBARU!! DO YOU WANT TO DIE OR WHAT!!?"

Someone was standing over the beast's head, someone who Subaru was very familiar with. She swings her hammer, resting the holder over her shoulder as she yells with rage.

"THANKS, SIS!! YOU'RE THE BEST!! I WILL COOK TEMPURA IF I GET THE INGREDIENTS!!!" Subaru shouted, pulling the holder of his earth dragon and ordering it to leave the scene place.

"YOU BETTER DO THAT, DUMBASS!!!"

The White Whale unfurled its massive jaw, letting out a haunting cry that echoed the depths of its suffering. It's trying to wake up from the ground, but fate is telling others.

Kyoko sprinted in speed as holding the giant hammer behind, leaped from the head and jumped straight into the monster's jaw. Her hammer manifested along with mechanics echo as the tip of her weapon turned into the cannon. Blue energy recharged the main core, ready to send a huge shockwave to enemies.

"Say hello to Grim Reaper."

BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!

An unstoppable energy blast surged forward, piercing through the air and heading straight for the White Whale's cavernous mouth. The beast cried out with a scream of pain, struggling to escape after receiving damages from Kyoko.

"CHARGE!!!!"

Ricardo, the leader of Iron Fang and one of the mercenaries who worked under Anastasia's camp led all of the remaining survivors to attack the fallen White Whale. Taking this chance, Wilhelm leaped over the beast, scratching the pure flesh with his blade as he let out all his rage.

The Demon Sword run passed Kyoko, his eyes telling the girl: 'Leave this to me.'. Understanding the cue, Kyoko who received the signal, nodded before letting her body fall gracefully from the White Whale, only to be caught by Reinhard in mid-air.

Using the Divine Protection of Air Dashing, Reinhard can fly and walk in the middle of the air as he carries his master in bridal style. Subaru who noticed their presence from the sky, immediately shouted at them.

"Kyoko, Reinhard!!! Can you two take down the other one!!?"

"Got it!"

The Sword Saint tossed his lady before dashing toward the other White Whales while Kyoko let her body fall from the sky as she raised her hammer, already manifested into a katana. In this distance, they can't wound the beast with merely a blade or Crusch's One Blow, One Hundred Felled skill.

However, With no fear, she smirked on her lips as she plummeted from the highest height.

"In the name of Tiamat, May glorious devouring you into the darkness."

Right after Kyoko finishes her prayer, the blade of her katana shines with an obsidian ray, sending a powerful beam of light thrust to the beast. The hit from the attack created a massive shockwave that sent the black mist away, AND EVERYTHING HAPPEN WHEN KYOKO WAS IN MID-AIR!!

"AWOOOOOOOO!!!!"

The White Whale was taken aback by those attacks, yet it couldn't catch any break when Reinhard appeared behind it out of nowhere. The Sword Saint clenched the fist, throwing it into the beast's skin with impossible strength, sending that monster to the ground.

With that, two of the White Whales already crashing into the earth, let Crusch and others take from behind.

"Reinhard!! Reinhard!! Help me!!!"

Unfortunately, Kyoko isn't capable of flying on air like Reinhard, who faces truly intriguing problems. Right now, she was heading into the ground at full speed without any power to stop this situation, which meant she would die if her head got hit first.

The Sword Saint, who saw Kyoko fall, dashed towards her in anxiety. With fluid grace, he scooped her up mid-air, one arm supporting her back and the other slipping beneath her legs. He held her in a perfect bridal carry as if she'd weighed nothing at all.

"Got you," He said, breathless, as he pulled her safely into his arms. A playful smirk played on his lips, but it didn't reach his eyes—those were still shadowed with worry, scanning her face like he needed proof she was truly okay.

It's so beautiful, too beautiful for Kyoko to bear it. A charming smile that could erase any concerns and anxiety, making her heart beat so loud. Her golden eyes were locked, never moving from his blue sapphire eyes, absolutely stunned by those divine appearances.

'God, I think I've fallen in love again.'

That is what Kyoko thinks.

But her lovely moment with her knight turned into a disaster when she heard her brother's voice.

"KYOKO, REINHARD!!! NICE ATTACK, BUT WE NEED TO DEAL WITH THE REAL ONES!!!" Subaru shouted as he rode his earth dragon towards them.

"OH FOR FUCK SAKE!! CAN'T YOU JUST LET ME ENJOY MY KNIGHT MOMENT WITH MY REINHARD!!!?" Kyoko screamed furiously from above, clinging her fingers on Reinhard's sleeves.

"YOU CAN GET YOUR LOVELY DOVEY LOVEBIRDS AT HOME!!" The black-haired guy pointed his finger at the sky, to the highest where the only White Whale remained, "THE REAL ONE IS OVER THERE!!! GET ITS ASS TO THE FLUGEL TREE!!!"

Reinhard looked in the direction where Subaru pointed. The biggest White Whale still roaming in the sky without doing anything. To lure this monster to Flugel Tree is one challenge but knowing where the Flugel Tree is in this dark fog is one big problem.

"I will deal with the fog. Go kill that monster." Said Kyoko.

"Are you sure? You don't want to kill it?"

"Ha! I want to give the spotlight to you too. Come on, I will follow you behind when I'm done with this fucking fog."

Her voice ensures Reinhard that his master has a plan behind those mischievous smiles. Whatever her plan, he will trust it. The Sword Saint landed on the ground, putting Kyoko's feet gently on the ground.

"Please don't die," Reinhard said, his eyes filled with concern.

Kyoko giggled, smirking with flirty lips, "There's no way I'm going let Grim Reaper take me when I don't take you into my bed yet."

"Yeah, yeah. All of this is because of that reason." The Sword Saint claimed he was hopeless, getting used to that situation where his master didn't know how to read the situation. Seriously, how can you be flirty in this intense situation, in the middle of the battlefield?

Suddenly, Kyoko grabbed his clothes and forced his face closer to her by a few inches. Her lips nibbled his ear, and she whispered low and seductive, "If you die, I'm going drain every single your mana into death. In bed, of course."

A shiver ran down his spine. Reinhard stood frozen as if the moment had stolen the air from his lungs. His cheeks flushed a deep, helpless crimson, heart hammering against his ribs. He blinked once, then again—eyes wide with something between awe and disbelief. Words tangled on his tongue, refusing to come out.

"Now then, be a good boy and beat that White Whale, okay?"

Reinhard nodded with one word, "Okay."

The Sword Saint left his master and leaped towards the last White Whale. Kyoko, who is watching it, smiled before closing her eyes and opening it back. Her art already determined that she would do this in this way.

"Crusch, cover me!!"

Crusch, who heard this, immediately rushed towards Kyoko, followed by several knights. She doesn't know what Kyoko is going to do, but Natsuki's family really has a goddess of luck on their back.

The katana in her hands pulsed with a blinding light, the blade dissolving into shimmering fragments of energy. In a swirl of magic, it reformed into a long, elegant staff glowing with arcane power. She spun it once with a sharp snap, slamming its tip into the ground. Instantly, a massive blue magic circle began etching itself beneath her, glowing lines racing outward like lightning.

"Heed my voice, O great Tiamat, the one who bears thy ends. Thou shall descend from heaven."

It grew wider and wider, layers of intricate runes and symbols unfolding with every second until the entire had battlefield was swallowed in a brilliant azure ligt humming with unstoppable force.

All the armies were stunned and amazed by the incredible magic, including Crusch and Wilhelm. They had never seen this mag,ic circle before, let alone how massive this magic of circle was.

'Since when did she draw this magic circle?' Crusch asked herself, absolutely stunned how has beautiful this magic circle could be.

[Magic Circle]

A type of geometric magic algorithm used to perform complex spells and rituals that can be drawn on the earth or a living being. These can produce great kinds of effects such as large-scale magic that completely alters the state of a battlefield, imbuing an individual with extreme power, or even temporarily cutting off Divine Protections.

However "Magic Circles" drawn on the ground once found can have their spells be disputed and the range of the effects of the magic only extent as far the circle's physical range so hiding them until activate is necessary.

Small magic circle already have major weakness, let alone the bigger ones.

"Thou shall kneel, thou shall fall. O thou woe bring the pain to us, let's cleanse along with storm."

The chanting continue, her beautiful black hair floating along with wind from the circle as the whole field was raining with gentle water drops. But then—suddenly—all motion ceased. The raindrops froze in mid-air, suspended like tiny crystals, hanging still like time had frozen.

The motionless droplets began to spin slowly, then faster, forming a vortex of glimmering water. The spinning drops formed a circle of wind, which pushed away the thick black fog that had been blocking their view. Bit by bit, the fog cleared, and they could finally see what was ahead.

With this, their head won't going hurt as they faced the true death. The White Whales noticed the black fog disappear, instantly targeting Kyoko as they swimming towards her. They need to prevent Kyoko from finishes her chant or else, their lives will be in danger.

"THE WHITE WHALE IS COMING!!! PROTECT KYOKO UNTIL SHE FINISH ULTIMATE!!!" Subaru screaming out his lungs not far from there as he watching Crusch already sending wind slash to the beasts. Following by fire blasts from the mages, the mercenaries charging with all of they have.

The mana flowed into inside her core, those raindrops one by one, they gathered and merged, forming something sharp and shining. A giant sword, made entirely of water and energy, shimmered in the air. It hovered, steady and powerful, aimed at one place—Flugel Tree, the massive tree that towered over the land like a god watching from above.

That sword wasn't just a symbol. It was a warning, a weapon, a final strike—but its target wasn't on the ground.

High above, the White Whale floated in the sky, its huge body casting a shadow over the world below. That's where Reinhard came in.

He stood tall and calm on top of the White Whale, not shaken by its movements, not scared of its size. The Sword Saint gripped the beast's horns with both hands, his red cape fluttering wildly behind him. His boots didn't sink or slide—they held firm on thin air, as if the sky itself had become solid under his will.

Then, with a sharp breath, Reinhard moved.

His muscles tensed. With strength that broke the rules of the world, he twisted his body—and the White Whale along with it. The air cracked. Clouds scattered. The creature, giant and terrifying, was spun like a toy and The Sword threw that beast down, fast as a falling star towards the Flugel Tree.

BUMPPPPP!!!

The White Whale's huge body slammed into the Flugel Tree, created powerful and massive gust of wind that blowing the whole ground. Now, the target already on the spots.

"Down along with them...."

Several magic circle forming in front of the giant sword. One by one, the magic circle become more bigger than previous circle as huge amount of mana was absorbed into this sword.

"Kingu."

THUUUUUUUDDDDD!!!!

The giant sword shot through the air and flew straight into the glowing magic circle. As it passed through, it became even faster and brighter. With a powerful force, it struck the White Whale's massive body. The blade sank deep into its flesh, pushing the beast backward until it was slammed against the trunk of the ancient Flugel Tree.

The impact shook the ground. The White Whale let out a deafening scream, a mix of pain and rage, echoing through the forest. Blood poured from the wound as the creature struggled, pinned against the tree by the enormous sword still buried in its side.

"TROOPS!! FIRE!!!"

The heavy upper part of the tree slowly tipped forward, then came crashing down. It landed right on top of the White Whale with a thunderous boom. Now, the beast was completely trapped — the giant sword still pierced through its body, and the massive tree lay across its back, pinning it to the ground.

The White Whale thrashed and roared, but it couldn't move. The ground trembled beneath its struggle, yet it was clear — the monster was caught, wounded, and powerless.

The yellow flowers flew over the battlefield along with the wind. Kyoko watched Wilhelm walked forward to the helpless beast, raised his weapon and slicing its with rage and fury.

Not because the bloodlust but for revenge.

Wilhelm finally take revenge for his wife, against this deathly monster who already destroyed many lives.

With the last breath, the beast finally shut its eyes.

The whole troops and the one who fighting this beast, screaming with joyous and victory.

"It's end." Reinhard said, as he standing beside Kyoko. His eyes lifting with light, as he watching his grandfather slain the White Whale.

Kyoko smiled, her arms crossed as her eyes focused on the beast's dead body. Her lips moved as if she muttered something, "Yeah. It's already end. Hmph! I bet Theresia will be happy over there."

"What?"

His eyes widened, his face expresses the disbelief as he looked at Kyoko. As if, he don't want to believe what he actually hear from his own master's mouth.

"What's wrong? Did I said something?" Kyoko asked innocently and confused like she never said something in first place.

"No... It's nothing." Reinhard answered with fake smile instead of his true feelings. He watching his master being hugged by Subaru who come from nowhere.

Even so, in deepest inside him. He always wanted to ask Kyoko something.

'How does she know my grandmother's name?'
