Chapter 7 - Answers from system

"Damn it…" I muttered under my breath, fists trembling at my sides. "Why did he pull me into that place…?"

My heart was still pounding from the memory of the red void. That overwhelming pressure. That voice that echoed like a god speaking through the system. He didn't even answer any of my questions—and worse, he dropped this massive burden on me like it meant nothing.

[ Host can ask any question to the system. ]

The soft text blinked in front of me, calm and composed. Like it didn't just witness me nearly have an emotional breakdown.

"…Is that so?" I muttered, bitterly. "Then tell me—why the hell am I here in the first place?"

[ When my creator lost control of the barrier between worlds, he happened to be close to you on Earth. You were within his proximity. When even a fraction of his energy leaked out, you were affected. That wave of power dragged you into his domain—where he had created countless worlds. ]

"…So I was just… in the wrong place at the wrong time?" I scoffed, a mix of disbelief and resentment bubbling up inside me. "Just like that? One moment I'm living a normal life, and the next—I'm thrown into this madness."

No answer came. Just silence.

"…Fine. Next question—why was I cursed by the Voice of the World? Why me?"

[ The reason is simple. Host was not born of this world. You were created by someone else. ]

I blinked.

"…What do you mean by 'created by someone else'?"

[ As my creator said, he was exploring a world crafted by one of his colleagues. When you entered this domain, the world's laws couldn't recognize you. You didn't belong. You were tagged as an Outsider. An error. That is why the Voice of the World rejected you and placed a restriction on your growth. ]

[ This is also the reason why your soul is so powerful—far beyond anything this world can naturally produce. You were made by a much older and far more powerful ******. ]

I stared at the message, the words sinking in like cold steel.

"So that's why other transmigrators can use skills and evolve while I'm stuck with a cursed Unique Skill…"

I let out a breath I didn't know I'd been holding. Somehow, knowing the truth didn't make it any easier. But at least it made sense.

"…Then explain this. Why were you 100 years late in activating? And why the hell did I become a baby when I was transported?"

[ Host was extremely fortunate. When you arrived in my creator's domain, your existence was unstable. Your age regressed to that of a toddler—almost to nothing. My creator assumed your soul would disperse completely. But by chance, you landed in a nearby stable world. Your soul held together, preserving you. ]

[ Originally, I wasn't meant for you. I was designed to attach to an extra character in this world for entertainment of my creator. ]

[ But when I attached to you, I feel something different about you. When i completed the binding successfully connecting to my creator, only then did my creator become aware of your existence. ]

I was silent for a long moment. Then I laughed—a bitter, hollow sound.

"…So you were meant to entertain him? And I was just a fluke? Some bug in the code?"

[ Correct. ]

"Then speaking of your creator—why is he such a damn asshole?"

[ You misunderstand him. Many of his colleagues and friends—powerful beings like him—wanted him to reset his domain. To wipe everything and start again. Countless living beings would have died. But he refused. He said he'd find another way. ]

"…That doesn't explain why he told me I could do nothing and let people die. How is that not heartless?" I demanded, eyes burning with frustration.

[ If you didn't understand his kindness… let me reframe it. ]

[ Would you feel anything if someone crushed an ant under their foot right in front of you? ]

I hesitated. "...No. Probably not."

[ What if someone poured molten aluminum into an ant colony to make a decorative mold—just for their amusement? ]

"…Maybe a little bad."

[ And what if it were an ancient colony, home to billions of ants—each with its own path, community, structure, and role? Would you feel something then? ]

I lowered my head. "…Yeah. I'd feel really bad for them."

[ Then congratulations. You are far kinder than you think. And perhaps, more like my creator than you realize. ]

"…I guess when you put it that way… he might see entire worlds the way I see ants." I sighed. "So wiping out a few to save billions more makes sense to him."

[ Exactly. His perspective is vast. But he still chose not to reset everything. He chose to try. ]

I nodded slowly, the anger in me cooling—just a little. But then, the system delivered one last line. One that reignited everything I'd just calmed down from.

[ Just consider this: a single ant… represents an entire universe. ]

My body tensed.

"…He's an asshole," I muttered.
