Chapter 88 - Chapter 88: Evil

It was an old, stooped man. Although his back was no longer straight and his movements were not as agile, at that moment, he was still a swordsman.

A chilling killing intent condensed in the dark night, causing the drunken men to shiver instinctively, their drunkenness fading slightly. They swallowed hard and raised their hands, feigning innocence.

The old father snorted coldly and continued to follow his daughter, protecting her.

The desolate street replayed the events that had just occurred in his mind.

When Elena and her father arrived, the night was still empty.

Only the gentle breeze brushed against their cheeks.

The old father looked at Elena with a questioning gaze. After thinking for a moment, Elena suddenly said, "Didn't they say to wait for him here at noon?"

"Noon? At three o'clock?" The old father frowned, pondering the meaning but having never heard of such a time measurement.

Roa, who had just arrived, thought it was bad. He had unconsciously brought over the time measurement units from his previous life. Fortunately, he had come out early out of boredom; if he had waited until the agreed time to arrive and found an empty street, both sides would have had an unpleasant memory.

He didn't know for sure, but after a moment of contemplation, he had a rough idea of the time. After all, there weren't many time periods that could be called noon, so he definitely wasn't late and had probably arrived quite early.

But did he have to keep waiting like this?

After thinking for a moment, he ultimately decided to wait. Spending a little time waiting for an opportunity was worth it. It was precisely because he lacked a mentor that he understood how much time could be saved by having a strong and reliable master.

The two of them waited silently.

Roa was also curious to see how long they would wait. As the saying goes, only those who have struggled for something truly understand its value.

He intentionally kept them in suspense, silently observing.

Time passed, and Elena yawned, her small face drooping as she squatted down, burying her head in an extremely strange position and falling asleep.

Roa raised an eyebrow, estimating that the time was about right.

So, he slowly emerged from the darkness. His dark coat billowed with the night, and he still did not reveal his true face or use the conspicuous blonde character.

The old father, who had been slightly weary, was momentarily taken aback. Seeing Roa suddenly appear made his heart tighten.

It was only when the figure stood before him that he realized his presence.

Instinctively, he grasped the hilt of the sword hanging at his waist, warily sizing up the newcomer.

Roa did not take the old man's vigilance seriously. He spoke in a deep voice, "Weakling, I want to take your daughter as my disciple."

Elena suddenly woke up, and when she looked up, she saw Roa in black clothing. She hesitantly asked, "Are you the person from this morning?"

Roa did not reveal more information.

In fact, it was true; he was merely changing his perspective.

The Dragon God and the Human God had fought for over a hundred years; he could claim that without exaggeration.

The old father fell silent, while Elena's previously drowsy face suddenly lit up with energy.

"The last evil?" Elena's eyes widened.

"There is too much suffering in this world, too many disasters, but how does that compare to the destruction of the world?" Roa's cold voice echoed through the street, the spring breeze blowing past but unable to disperse the sorrowful tone that had weathered many storms.

Roa was not exaggerating. The goals of the Human God were too evil. He had surfed the internet and asked about this character, knowing roughly about his background.

This guy had a dark history of destroying four worlds.

Yet the man before him spoke with a steady voice and an indescribable charm. To emphasize the reliability of his words, he even summoned the shadow of a demon god.

The massive, pitch-black demon god shadow gradually solidified, exuding an ominous aura, with demonic flames burning in the air.

The dark cloak billowed, and the intense malevolence almost overflowed, causing the old father beside him to twitch his eyelids.

"Human God!" the figure in black replied with a voice filled with both pity and hatred.

At that moment, the old father regretted letting his daughter seek out this so-called support; it seemed he had found a demon king instead.

The figure in the black robe extended a hand toward the white-haired girl, speaking in a unique tone, "Become my disciple, join us, and fight against the source of evil in this world."

Elena's hair stood on end, her wine-red eyes resembling aged fine wine, drawing people in.

She instinctively wanted to reach out, her intuition telling her that if she took the hand before her, her future would change dramatically. But her rational mind warned her not to touch him; the figure in black was like Pandora's box—opening it would yield unexpected results, but she would undoubtedly have to pay a price.

The old father opened his mouth to say something, but looking at the five-meter-tall demon god shadow radiating a faint divine aura behind the figure in black, he ultimately fell silent.

The final outcome had far exceeded his expectations.

The old father was just a small figure; how could he understand the terms like "Human God" that the figure in black spoke of? He only knew that there were seven great powers in this world, with the first being the "Technique God" Laplace (complete form), the second being the "Dragon God" Orsted, the third being the "Fighting God," the fourth being the "Demon God" Laplace, the fifth being the "Death God" Randolph Marianne, the sixth being the "Sword God," and the seventh being the "North God."

He had learned all this from an ancient text; he had never heard of the Human God. But whether it was the Human God or the seven great powers, they were not something a small figure like him could engage with. Instinctively, the old father wanted to stand up and tell Elena, "Let's go back."

Seeing that the other party was still hesitant to take his hand, Roa's eyes flickered. The dark demonic flames completely enveloped his body as he spoke again, "There is only one opportunity. This chance will only come once. I am not unreasonable; I have seen your future, and it is not a good one. It could even be described as tragic. I know what you are hesitating about. Join us, and I will give you power—the power to protect your family, the power to do as you wish. Whatever you want to do, I will not restrict you, but you must complete the tasks I assign you. That is my only condition."

Elena remained silent. The more he spoke, the more she felt the terror and strangeness of the figure before her.
