After the shop was complete, Isaac, Leora, and Tyr returned home. The others were already waiting at the table. Lunch was quiet at first.
Alice didn't look great.
She was barely touching her food. Then, Leora casually slid next to her, grabbed her plate, and started feeding her like a mother fed a child.
"Eat," Leora said, not giving her a chance to say no.
Alice tried to stop her but gave up after a few bites.
Leora talked to her throughout the meal, shifting topics quickly, keeping her engaged. By the end of lunch, Alice looked a little more grounded.
Isaac gave a small sigh. 'Yeah, this won't be easy.'
He didn't head to the market right away.
Most of the students—his main customers—wouldn't be back until early evening. They entered the ruins early in the morning and usually returned between 6:30 pm and 8:00 pm.
Instead, he spent time with Emily.
They hung out in the small garden behind the house. They just talked. Nothing too serious. And spent time together.
