Chapter 74 - Ending A Story Bonus

Subaru was in his room, as he had finished writing Volume 11 of Naruto as he closed the book. "And done".

[Minerva spoke in his head. "Seeing this is the Final Volume the Naruto fans are gonna go insane".]

Subaru sighed as he spoke. "No shit, I only wrote stories from my world in this world to get money for the Witch's Hand, under the name of Rusa".

[Pandora laughed as she spoke. "And it works very well; time to go to the Silver Quil Publishing company and give this to Ragis".]

Subaru then sighed as he spoke. "And hopefully not have Emilia, Rem, Ram and Elsa kill because they didn't like the end to their new favourite Story".

Subaru stretched his arms and stood up, placing the final volume of Naruto into a small stack of manuscripts he had prepared for publishing. He glanced around his room, filled with various books, potion ingredients, and notes on his Cards of Disorder project.

With a sigh, he grabbed his coat and stepped out, heading towards the Witch's Hand HQ. As he walked through the dimly lit hallways, he heard the sound of rapid footsteps approaching.

"Subaru!"

Turning his head, he saw Emilia rushing toward him, her silver hair swaying behind her. Behind her were Rem and Ram, both looking somewhat suspicious.

"You finished the final volume, right?" Emilia asked, eyes practically sparkling.

Subaru scratched his cheek, hesitating. "Uh… yeah, but you might not like how it ends."

Emilia's hopeful expression wavered. "W-what do you mean?"

Before Subaru could answer, Elsa suddenly appeared behind him, her usual grin in place. "Oh my, the final volume of Naruto? I might be interested in seeing how it ends, especially if there's… blood involved."

Subaru sighed, already predicting the chaos that would unfold once they read it.

[Pandora chuckled in his mind. "I wonder if they'll try to kill you when they find out what happens to certain characters."]

[Minerva snorted. "More importantly, what if they start demanding a sequel?"]

Subaru groaned. "Let's just get this over with…"

He braced himself as he handed the manuscript to Emilia, knowing full well that once they read it, his peaceful days would be over. Then he had second thoughts

Subaru then teleported out of there before he gave the Manuscript, as he shadow stepped directly Ragis, as he stumbled

Regis looked at Subaru as he spoke. "Stop scaring me".

Subaru chuckled as he looked at Regis. "Sorry about that".

Regis sighed as he looked at him. "Let me guess, you finally finished your story".

Subaru handed him the light novel as he Spoke. "Yup, here you go the finished Manuscript for Naruto Volume 11, the final Volume".

Regis looked as he spoke. "This damm book is the top-selling book all around the world; if the 4th Great Ninja War doesn't end with everyone satisfied, someone is gonna make it their life mission to find out who Rusa is".

Subaru looked as he spoke. "I already have People in the mansion who know who I am".

Regis raised an eyebrow. "And they haven't thrown a fit yet?"

Subaru sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Oh, they definitely will. That's why I ran before handing them a copy."

Regis chuckled, flipping through the pages. "Smart move. So, are you ready for the backlash?"

Subaru crossed his arms. "Honestly? No. But I've got a few teleportation spells lined up in case things go south."

Regis smirked. "You might need more than just teleportation if the fans are unsatisfied. I've seen people start wars over bad endings."

Subaru groaned. "Yeah, yeah, I know. Just make sure this gets published before anyone figures out my real identity, alright?"

Regis nodded. "Consider it done. But if I suddenly disappear, just know it's because some crazed fan kidnapped me demanding an alternate ending."

Subaru shuddered. "Let's hope it doesn't come to that."

As he turned to leave, [Minerva's voice echoed in his head]. "You know you could have just made the ending happier."

[Satella chuckled]. "But then where's the fun in that?"

Subaru sighed. "Maybe I am a bit of a sadist after all…"

Regis looked at him as he spoke. "So how is the Witch's Hand Doing".

Subaru looked at him, as he spoke. "Why do you ask".

Regis looked at him as he spoke. "No, just your Organization has slowly started to come out the grey side of Everyone's eyes, ever since everyone learned that the people who help taken down the White Whale were witch's hand people in disguise".

Subaru sighed, rubbing his temples. "Yeah, that was bound to happen sooner or later. We were working from the shadows for so long, but with that stunt, we've started getting attention."

Regis leaned back, crossing his arms. "Not just attention. Some nobles are even whispering about making official deals with Witch's Hand. They see you as a wild card now—dangerous, but useful."

Subaru chuckled dryly. "I'd rather not get tangled in politics, but I guess that's unavoidable now. What's the general sentiment?"

Regis tapped his fingers on the desk. "Mixed. Some think you're just another cult-playing hero; others are genuinely impressed. And then some fear you. Especially after the rumours about what happened to the Archbishop of Sloth."

Subaru smirked. "Good. Let them be afraid."

[Satella's voice echoed in his head]. "You're walking a fine line, Subaru. Be careful."

Subaru exhaled. "I know, I know… So, any actual threats I should be worried about?"

Regis shook his head. "Nothing concrete yet, but don't be surprised if a few factions try to take you down before you grow any bigger."

Subaru stood up, stretching. "They can try. But they'll regret it."

Subaru had come to the Witch's Hand HQ, only to find that there was Cecilus there; as he blinked, Subaru took a few seconds to process who he was seeing.

Cecilus looked at Subaru as he spoke. "Ah, instead it the Hero of the Black Smoke, I do you say, the H-"

Subaru then screamed. "Halibal!, Shaule! Kick this man out before he starts his Dramatic Speaice"

They both spoke, almost like they had just been summoned. "On it."

Cecilus Brian had taken a few seconds as he spoke. "Wait, wait, wait".

Halibel and Shaula appeared in a flash, flanking Cecilus before he could even raise his hand in defence.

Halibel cracked his knuckles. "You heard the boss. Time to go."

Shaule grinned mischievously. "Oooh, I've been wanting to yeet someone all week!"

Cecilus quickly took a step back, waving his hands. "Now now, no need to resort to violence so soon! I only came to witness the one who bested the Witch Cult three times in a single day!"

Subaru groaned. "I know exactly what you came here for. You want to drag me into some nonsense duel or heroic trial, don't you?"

Cecilus beamed. "Well, if you insist, I won't say no—"

"OUT." Subaru pointed to the door, face deadpan.

Halibel grabbed Cecilus by the collar like a sack of laundry. "Come on, drama queen."

Shaule opened a shadow portal, waving cheerfully. "Bye-bye, Blue-haired Tsundere Hero!"

As Cecilus was unceremoniously tossed through the portal, his voice echoed, "I shall return! With even more flair!"

Subaru rubbed his eyes, exhausted. "Why do I attract weirdos?"

[Minerva giggled in his head. "Because you're one of them, Subaru."]

Ivan then spoke. "Hey as anyone see Cecilus Around".

Subaru looked at him as he spoke. "Yeah, why".

Ivan then spoke. "Because I met him, and he said he wanted to join this group because he said the stars align for him. Also he wanted to fight Boss".

Subaru facepalmed instantly. "Of course he does… of course he thinks the stars aligned just so he could pick a fight with me."

Halibel sighed. "We literally kicked him out five minutes ago."

Shaule poked her head out from the side. "I can go bring him back and drop him in a volcano if that helps."

Ivan chuckled, scratching the back of his head. "Honestly? I think he's serious. Said something like 'The Hero of the Stars must face the Hero of the Black Smoke to validate fate' or whatever."

Subaru groaned. "Why are the lunatics always drawn to me?"

[Satella softly giggled in his mind]. "Maybe they sense your madness too, Subaru."

[Minerva snorted]. "You did just create your own Pathway and wrote an alternate Naruto ending that could spark wars."

Subaru turned to Ivan. "Fine. If he wants to join, he has to pass the test."

Ivan blinked. "Test?"

Subaru cracked his knuckles. "Yeah. It's called: 'Survive 10 minutes in a locked room with Shaula.'"

Shaule lit up like a child offered candy. "Yessss! I'll go get him~!"

Halibal then gave him Subaru leader Mask. "Here you go".

Subaru looked at the Mask as he spoke. "Why?"

Halibal looked at him as he spoke. "Someone from the royal court wants to meet us".

Subaru sighed as he spoke. "Will can't have them find out that the body Guard for Miss Emilia is the same guy who is running the Witch's Hand".

He put on the mask, as they went to the meeting place, where they meet with Novels who wants to join the group, people who are sick of the Witch Cult and want them to end and so on, as Subaru looked at the Royal Court Member of Lugunica, she was a young woman, with a yellow hair, that he can make our from her hood, she wears a masks, and form her hands it can be said she has fair skin, other then that, she was fully hidden.

The woman looked at Subaru as she spoke. "I gotta say, this little group of. Your is very well hidden, people will think the Witch's Hand are staying in the outside like the Witch's Cult, but no, you all are under a underground network that counted to Lugunica Ans your entrance to this place is through hidden places in the orphanages in this city". She let out a chuckle.

Subaru looked at her as he spoke. "Trying to use flattery on me, not a bad try".

The woman chuckled beneath her mask, her voice smooth and composed. "Not flattery. Admiration, perhaps. And a fair warning."

Subaru tilted his head. "Warning?"

She crossed her arms. "You've caught the attention of the Royal Court, not because of your actions alone, but because you're shifting the balance of power. The Witch' Cult was madness, chaos—easy to rally against. But you?" She pointed at him. "You're a myth, a phantom in the dark. People say you saved towns, slew Sin Archbishops, and even wrote the damn Naruto series under a fake name."

Halibel muttered behind him, "She's not wrong."

Subaru crossed his arms too. "So, what? You're here to threaten me?"

She shook her head. "No. I'm here with an offer… and a warning. The Court is fractured, and there are those within it who believe the Witch's Hand may be the only group capable of rooting out the Witch Cult and stabilizing the kingdom. But others—nobles, fanatics, relics of the old regime—they want your head."

Subaru's masked face didn't flinch. "And you?"

She took a step forward. "I want to work with you. I don't care for the old ways. If the Witch's Hand continues to protect the people and silence the whispers of the Cult, then you're a better ally than half the knights in this kingdom."

Subaru stared for a moment before speaking. "Fine. I'll play along for now. But don't expect us to dance to anyone's tune."

The woman nodded. "Good. Oh, and next time—tell that little assassin of yours to stop following me."

Shaule's voice suddenly rang out from the shadows. "Tch. Busted~"

The woman smirked and turned to leave. "We'll be in touch, Hero of the Black Smoke."

As her figure disappeared into the shadows, Halibel leaned in. "She was intense."

Subaru looked at him. "Yeah… and dangerous. Keep tabs on her. If she's telling the truth, she's valuable. If she's lying… she's a threat."

The group made their way through the dimly lit underground tunnels, lit only by glowing runes embedded in the walls. The sound of clashing steel and bursts of compressed wind grew louder as they approached the southern cavern. Subaru was the first to step through the archway, only to be greeted by a shockwave that made his coat billow violently.

In the center of the cavern, Cecilus was laughing like a man possessed, spinning through the air, sword in hand, deflecting dozens of crimson energy lances being launched by a wild-haired woman in black armor — the original Shaula.

Cecilus skidded to a stop on a boulder, striking a dramatic pose. "Ah! Your elegance, your fury! Every slash of yours is a poem, a testament to the blade's divine nature!"

Shaula cracked her knuckles, clearly enjoying herself. "You talk too much. Let's see if you're still poetic after I blow off your eyebrows."

She vanished in a blur, appearing behind Cecilus mid-air, leg glowing with heat as she kicked him into the ground with enough force to shatter stone.

Ivan winced. "That looked like it hurt."

Subaru just sighed. "He'll be fine. Probably."

Cecilus emerged from the dust crater, laughing harder. "Marvelous! You even cracked a few ribs. Truly, fate has led me to heaven today!"

Halibel whispered to Subaru, "So, are we letting this go on until someone dies or…?"

Subaru shook his head. "Nah. I give it five more minutes before Shaula gets bored and just slams him into a wall. Then he'll write her a love letter. Again."

True to his prediction, five minutes later, Shaula landed a palm strike that sent Cecilus flying into the cavern wall. He groaned dramatically as he slid down.

"Marry me," Cecilus muttered, dazed.

Shaula raised a brow. "Only if you bring cake to the ceremony."

Subaru turned around and started walking back. "Yup. That's enough insanity for today. Back to plotting the fall of the Witch Cult."

As they exited, the sound of Cecilus asking if she preferred chocolate or vanilla echoed behind them.

Meanwhile, in the Royal court, the Yellow hair girl was in the same room where the old Royal Court Member was killed, she knew his death wasn't an accident, he was investigating the Blue Glow that happened when Subaru and Reinhard touched the Royal Insignia, as she looked at the fireplace as she saw it the whole book was not fully burned even do it has been a week.

She straightened out her hand and found a piece with one word, "King", the only remaining piece of the Page that was ripped and burned.

She stared at the half-burned fragment in her hand, the single word — "King" — smouldering with weight far greater than the ash it was surrounded by.

The yellow-haired girl — no longer just a Royal Court observer, but something far deeper — clenched the page tightly.

"The Blue Glow… the resonance… That moment should've been impossible."

She stepped away from the fireplace, her cloak fluttering behind her as the old wood cracked from the heat. Her mask remained in place, concealing the glint of recognition in her eyes.

"The man who died knew something. Something that connected that glow… to the Witch… to the throne. And now he's dead before he could reveal it."

She moved toward the secret drawer hidden behind the throne, pressing the sigil that released it. Inside were old scrolls — testimonies, curses, faded records from the time of the Great Calamity — and a sealed envelope bearing the crest of the old Sage Council. She didn't open it yet. Her eyes returned to the page fragment again.

King.

"He doesn't want the throne… but the world might make him take it anyway."

The door behind her opened slightly. A butler stepped in and bowed. "Lady Archel. The court is ready for your next address."

The woman — Archel — stood still for a moment longer, then dropped the burnt paper back into the fireplace.

"Tell them I'll be late. I have… research to finish."

As the flames crackled behind her, her thoughts drifted again to Subaru Natsuki.

"Hero of the Black Smoke. Ruler of Shadows. Fool of the Cards. How many masks do you wear… and when will you remove them?"
