"I'm going up to find that girl."
Amber Wood had just left, and Sophia Wood was about to go upstairs to find Lily Turner, but as soon as she stood up, Alice Turner grabbed her immediately. Sophia looked back in confusion, "What's wrong?"
"Mom! Lily must be really upset right now, we better not go up and disturb her. Just let her have some peace in the room." Alice Turner stood up from the sofa, tightly grabbing Sophia Wood, preventing her from suddenly breaking free to go upstairs and find Lily. Everyone's mood is bad now, and meeting face-to-face could easily lead to conflict.
Sophia Wood didn't insist on going upstairs to find Lily Turner. She was stunned for a moment and then sat back down on the sofa with Alice Turner, "Alice! Tell me the truth, did you know about Lily calling off the engagement beforehand?"
The two sisters are usually so close. There are things that might not be shared with their mother but definitely with this unreserved sister.
