Chapter 7 - NPC Power System... II

Even then, NPCs have quite the advantage.

Their power system allows for more than just unrestricted professional makeup.

NPCs have sub systems that revolve around race, bloodlines, and their evolution.

Powerful races like the Dragons have an edge over weaker races like the human race, but that is only when you look at the general situation.

When you truly get down to the details, dragons have a much harder time evolving to the next level of existence than humans.

On the other hand, all one needed to evolve into a high human is to max out your level.

For players, all one needed to do is grind in a dungeon until you hit level 100.

For NPCs, you would need to max out at least one job and nine skills… which is honestly quite the ordeal for a short-lived race.

That said, there are some achievements that can directly trigger an evolution.

All you'd need is a legendary title like Dragon Slayer or Hero to achieve an evolution, or a noble rank of duke or higher… which is difficult for 99.99% of normal NPCs.

Hell, just the amount of resources one needs to burn through to meet any of the above conditions blocks most people.

All in all, these worries had little to do with Xavier.

Thanks to his innate jobs [Player] and [NPC], he could take any route. Not to mention, the job [Gamer] made it even easier.

All he had to do is open his [Character Settings] and he could easily change everything about himself including his race and bloodline.

Of course, he can do nothing about his level or evolution.

But that in itself is a big advantage.

Some races have racial talents that are enviable even with all his skills.

Not to mention, his evolution does not change regardless of race.

Meaning that he could evolve to a higher existence as a human and when he decides to change races, he would still be of the same level.

The difference between a High Human and a Great Dragon is even wider than the difference between a human and a dragon.

But all this had to wait.

He would prefer being a human while he was still living with Bernard and his family, lest they be in trouble.

However, the main issue is that he is no longer as excited about his unfair advantage as he was at the beginning.

At that time, he did not waste a moment, and he directly transformed himself into a dragonkin with a primordial bloodline.

The whole world got shaken and even the gods got involved in this. Like hell they'd allow an existence with the potential to grow into a Dragon God.

But that had nothing to do with the current Xavier Adams.

His focus now was on how to ensure that he delayed the overall progress of the game, and prolonged the war once it eventually started.

Being originally from the Blue Planet, he would of course want what is best for the world, but that did not necessarily mean that he would let Infinite Frontier suffer a loss.

After all, he was also from here.

The main thing is that the Blue Planet does not have entities like Ophelia and other gods to match up.

At least, he was unaware of the existence of any such entities.

This put him in a rather awkward position.

All he could do is ensure that nobody reached level 100 too fast to allow other players to level up some more.

At the very least, the average level should be at level 60 if the blue planet is to fight on equal footing.

By the time Xavier was done with his lesson for the day, it was already evening and it was time to break from work.

Despite the advancement of magic in this world, the level of civilization can be said to be around the medieval period.

The only major difference is that magic has made life so much easier for NPCs that their level of productivity can match or even surpass the industrial period.

What do you expect when every single NPC can use magic? The only difference is how powerful their magic is.

That said, even a five-year-old can use common household magic easily.

This makes the level of hygiene in this place weirdly high.

Not to mention, there are no common diseases and pests that plague the populace.

Given the human race's propensity to reproduce, you can imagine what the population of the Altahaugr Empire is like.

Just the Brightstone District under Count Brightstone has a population of 2.3 billion.

If you take in the fact that the land area of the district is approximately the same as the Asian Continent, that number seems small in comparison.

That said, there are natural features like the Black Forest and the Endless Rock Range that eat away at a vast area.

Not to mention that there are monsters that are hard at work 'culling' the population.

There are also other races and sub-races occupying some pieces of land.

Thinking about it this way, it is already impressive that humans managed to grow like this.

But this had little to do with Xavier as of this moment.

If anything, this large population is a cause for worry.

Even the least among the people can use a simple ignition spell. Imagine if they got their hands on some technology like Guns and stuff from the real world.

That would be a mess.

A crushing of this level is not something that they can recover from.

On the other hand, such a large population means that the Empire is having a hard time managing it.

Don't look at how strong the Empire is until they are constantly trying to invade the western nations.

That is just one way of finding jobs for the surplus and looking for resources to feed the people.

Even when players descend, most missions would be clearing dungeons to acquire dungeon cores so that the Empire can create food type dungeons.

Even the least level 10 dungeon can feed a city no problem.

This is one of the reasons why players can thrive in Infinite Frontier.

NPCs are indeed very powerful, but they only have one life. It is game over once you die.

Players on the other hand only get a 12-hour cooldown time and maybe drop some items.

In the end, if you are willing to lose money, you can even get rid of these restrictions.
