Hearing this, Migi smiled and said, "Ah, Ryota eh? Hes a good lad. He looks good and is strong aswell. Too bad that he doesn't have faith in 'Him'. "
'Him'? Who is this guy who they keep referring to? And why do they it with such respect? Is he someone with a godly status? That probably explains the faithful part. But then again, why do they call me faithful?
Komaru had a lot of questions. But, he held back the urge to ask them. He knew asking those questions here would raise unnecessary suspicion.
I should probably play along, acting as if I am a faithful kid...
"Do you guys know who Ryota is?" Komaru asked, half-curious.
Hearing him, Migi answered, "Of course we do. Ryota is very popular in here. A lot of girls ask him out for dates, even I did many times. Its just that hes really good looking."
Next, Mrs. Donnie said, "Lets not continue chatting here. Why don't we enjoy ourselves by having something to eat?"
"I agree, shall we move?" Brandon smiled.
Everyone nodded, and started walking towards the food table.
A large variety of dishes were placed on the table. It was a buffet system, where guests would take their own plate and take the food by themselves.
In Grazinas, large cities like Matalop and Cascane city mostly followed the buffet system for any kind of parties.
It was not very popular a few decades ago. But certain ideas spread from Zegaer Kingdom to Grazinas, making it much more popular.
Komaru, seeing everyone take their plates, also took one. It was a silver plate with beautiful flower patterns on it.
He went up in the line, and when his turn came, he chose a dish which looked very similar to meat.
"It is called Ba Slorket. It is a very popular dish in Matalop. It is made from the meat of Desturnum and adding the five major spices in it. Im sure you would enjoy its taste." Mrs. Donnie said with a smile.
Oh I for sure will. This looks much better than whatever the shit I cook anyway.
Komaru smiled, and took a single piece of Ba Slorket on his plate, along with some salad.
With his food, he went to a random table near the dance floor and sat there.
As he was watching the guests enjoy themselves and dance, suddenly, a young lady came up to him and sat infront of him.
"Um. Good evening, may I know your good name?" Komaru simply asked.
He did have a bit of confusion, but it was quickly gone.
Obviously some people will sit with strangers. Its not like this table is for me only.
The young lady, who long brown hair and scarlet eyes, nodded and said, "My name is Hailey Storms."
She looked very beautiful. Her slightly tanned skin along with her red lips gave her a unique look.
"Its a pleasure to meet you, Hailey. My name is Komaru Wilson. I hope you are enjoying the party." Komaru did not use any prefixes before her name, since he didn't know if she was married or not.
In Grazinas, using a wrong prefix showed a sign of disrespect. This was not the same in other countries like Gorsiles or Dragol, where a simple apology would make do.
"Yes, I am enjoying the party, Komaru. It seems that just like me, you also don't have a partner to dance with. Why dont we dance after you finish eating that?" She pointed her finger at the plate on Komaru's hand.
"I would love too." As Komaru said that, he quickly finished his food and went to keep.the plate on the used plates section.
After washing his hands, he came back to the same table where Hailey was, smililing, extended his right hand forward and said, "Lets go."
Hailey smiled back and grabbed Komaru's hand. Komaru then took her to the dance floor and they began dancing.
The dance which they were performing was called Mudak Bai.
It is a traditional dance which is very common in Grazinas. Archeological research shows that this dance has been performed since the beginning of the Grovian Era, which was more than a hundred thousand years ago.
In the beginning, it was believed that this dance was performed to harness Caribela's energy, but later on the ancient documents revealed that this dance was nothing but a sort of entertainment for early humans.
Nowadays, it has been evolved into a dance typically performed in parties and social events. This dance is only popular in Grazinas. Outside of it, very few people perform this dance.
With elegant moves, both Hailey and Komaru performed the dance. One moment Komaru moved his feet while the next moment Hailey moved her's.
This continued for a few moments until they stopped the dance.
"Phew. You did very well, Hailey. Good job." Komaru smiled, looking at Hailey.
Hailey replied, "You also did great. It seems like you know very well how to dance."
"Well, my mother taught me when I was young. She is a great dancer."
"Thats very sweet. Anyways, I heard that you work under Amane Ryota?"
"Yeah. I recently picked up a job under him. What about it?"
"Oh no, its nothing. I was just a little curious."
"So you also know Ryota. Then you must be living here in Stupart street, no?"
"No, I live in Durmas. But, I know him since I owe him a lot. He did help me that time, after all."
"That time? What did he help you with?"
"I don't think you will understand even if I did tell you, since its a pretty long story. But just know that he killed the sage for me."
The sage? If I remember correctly, this morning Ryota also said something about the sage. I think it was the possibility of him being involved in the Harry Young case. I had guessed that the sage must be the big shot which Ryota talked about. But if he had already killed him, how would he be involved? I don't get it. And not to mention the fact that Ryota killed him even though he is not a very strong man...
"The sage? Can you tell me more about him?"
"Hmm...just know that the sage is someone who was very weak. He was probably around the Nascent grade. But at that time, I had not created a Principal. Thats why I couldn't fight him head on.
"Ryota encountered me by chance, and helped me by killing the sage. I am forever grateful to him for that. He did have difficultieskilling him though."
Indeed, my guess was correct. Ryota isn't a very strong guy if he had difficulties dealing with the Nascent grade. But then again,killing him? He for sure has a strong mental strength though.
"It seems like you and Ryota have ties which go way back then I had thought. Its good to hear that you survived against the sage. Anyways, you live in Durmas eh? How is life there? I heard that the Makile river has been very polluted recently."
"Indeed. The Makile river used to be so clean when I was a kid. But now, the Republicians have polluted the river because of their protests."
Republicans were the group of people who supported the Higher Party, which was the opposition to the Freedom Party, which formed the current government of Grazinas.
Due to the belief that the Freedom Party won the elections due to buying votes, the Republicans were very angry, and to show their anger they did a lot of protests all over the country.
A higher amount of protests were done in Durmas, which was a city bordering Cascane city. This was because one of the main Freedom Party's member, Douglas Kane, recided here.
He was a key member who had gained the trust of many people, including a part of Republicans.
But recent investigations showed that he had been secretly a part of illegal money laundering business. This destroyed the trust of the locals in him, and led to the downfall of his political career.
The Makile river is one of the main parts of Durmas. This is because the land near the river is very fertile, attracting a lot of farmers.
Not only that, Durmas is also known as "Thr Land of Agriculture" across both the continents solely due to Makile river.
For it to be polluted, meant that the trademark of Durmas was stained. And that was something a lot of residents of Durmas did not like.
"I hate the fact that the Republicans are involving even a river in their protests. I guess in the future I won't be voting Sterlace anymore..."
Sterlace was the head of the Higher Party. People who were born and grew up in Durmas tended to side with the Higher Party most of the times, but with the recent events, it would not be the same anymore.
"Well, atleast you will be able to vote, unlike a certain group, ahem!"
"Pfft. You are really funny, Komaru."
This was a joke about the United Party, who were so financially broke that they could not even do proper rallies for election.
Their entire election campaign was just them begging for votes. The "certain group" referred to the family of the head of the United Party, Mr. Hannes Grove.
His family consisted of 14 people, excluding himself. All of them were not allowed to vote any other party except the United Party.
So basically, the crux was that this party was destined to never win the elections again.
After a bit of chit-chat, the party was over.
Komaru ate a little more and collected the gift that every guest were supposed to receive.
"Thanks for attending the party, Komaru." As Mrs. Donnie was thanking Komaru, she handed him a box wrapped in colourful glittering paper.
"It was my pleasure, Mrs. Donnie."
Komaru accepted the gift with a smile.
As he was leaving, Mrs. Donnie said, "Also, make sure to open this gift only after 43 days. Its a request."
43 days? Whats with this specific time? And why should I wait this long to open my gift? I am gonna open it right now when I go home. How will she even know?
As if reading his thoughts, Mrs. Donnie smiled and said, "You know that God is watching, right? Please don't open the gift now. Open it only after 43 days. Its a humble request from me."
Well, if she is being this much insisting, I should respect it.
"Alright, I'll make sure to open this gift only after 43 days pass. And one last time, thank you for your kindness."
Hearing this, Mrs. Donnie simply smiled.
Komaru then took the lift and went back home.
Once he arrived, he took out the keys and opened the gate.
Locking it from the inside, Komaru placed the gift box that he had received from Mrs. Donnie on the shelf near his bed.
He then proceeded to take a quick shower and changed back into casual clothes.
After some time, he went to sleep.
