Chapter 223: The Fusion of Plasma Cannon and Railgun
In the office of Headmaster Slater, Snape conveyed Dumbledore's words to George.
"Both the Headmaster and I believe everything you've said, and we will do our best to help you learn magic and enhance your strength so you can better face the crisis that will come in twenty years."
"That's wonderful. I hadn't dared say anything before because I was afraid you wouldn't believe me. After all, these things are simply too absurd—even I sometimes can't believe them myself."
George's eyes lit up upon hearing this, and then he didn't hesitate to start hinting to Snape:
"Everything else is fine, but every day I have to practice the magic my grandpa teaches me, while also studying the school's magic. Time always feels insufficient."
"Not enough time? That's not a problem. I'll help you apply for a Time-Turner. That should solve your issue."
Snape waved his hand and replied without hesitation.
With George's talent, he would normally apply for a Time-Turner for him by the time he reached third year next year. This was just one year ahead of schedule.
With a Time-Turner, George could attend classes normally and still have extra time to enhance his strength.
Originally, he only had twenty years to increase his power, but with the extreme use of the Time-Turner, it would be equivalent to having forty years. Dumbledore would surely agree.
"Time-Turner?"
George feigned ignorance, and Snape quickly gave an explanation.
Through Snape's explanation, George gained a much more detailed understanding of the Time-Turner.
The Time-Turner can reverse a maximum of five hours at a time. After reversal, it cannot be used again immediately; one must wait for time to return to normal.
In other words, for example, if I use the Time-Turner at 5:00 a.m. to reverse time back to 12:00 a.m., I can't immediately use it again to go back five more hours to 7:00 p.m. the previous night.
Furthermore, after I reverse time to 12:00 a.m., I cannot use the Time-Turner again between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. I must wait until after 5:00 a.m.
For example, once it's 6:00 a.m., I can reverse one hour; at 7:00 a.m., I can reverse two hours; and at 10:00 a.m., I can reverse five hours back to 5:00 a.m.
According to the laws of time in this world, only two versions of the same person can exist in the same time—no more than that.
So, even if one uses it to the limit, the most you can gain is double the time.
However, these laws of time are not fixed rules of this world, but rather safety guidelines set by the Ministry of Magic based on their research into the Time-Turner, to ensure the most stable and problem-free use.
Of course, one could ignore these rules—for example, reverse time by twelve hours, or repeatedly reverse time to the point where seven or eight versions of oneself exist simultaneously.
If you're lucky, nothing will happen. If not, you might disappear instantly, or you could even endanger your family and friends, ancestors and descendants—just like that wizard named Eloise Mintumble.
Since George is now immortal and has infinite lifespan, he doesn't fear suddenly aging five centuries. But he also doesn't want time disorder to cause global chaos or even lead to the collapse of the world.
So, until he fully understands time magic, he will stick to the proper usage of the Time-Turner.
Being able to gain twice the time is already very impressive for him. Outside of class, he can do much more without being confined to the classroom.
As for sleep, ever since becoming immortal, he no longer needs as much sleep as a normal person. Just one or two hours a day are enough to maintain a normal state.
But going without sleep continuously isn't an option. Though it won't kill him, it would badly affect his mental state and interfere with proper learning.
After a regular day of classes, Snape found George again that evening, gave him the Time-Turner, and reminded him a second time about its proper use.
He was deeply worried that George might misuse it and endanger his life.
From that day on, George entered an intense learning mode.
His Time-Turner was used almost to its full capacity—close to five times every day, operating under extreme conditions.
Aside from regular class hours and time in the library, he spent most of his time in the Headmaster's office learning magic that wasn't taught in class.
Since Dumbledore was so idle every day, how could he miss such a great opportunity?
In terms of magical prowess, who in this world could surpass Dumbledore?
And George's magical ability in this world was also increasing rapidly. The spells he had already learned became more refined, and those he hadn't yet mastered were gradually falling into place.
He even learned some new ancient magic from Dumbledore, who had studied ancient magic himself.
Spells like the Mountain-Moving Spell, Torrential Rain Spell, Tornado Spell, and so on.
In the end, even Dumbledore himself was overwhelmed by George's excessive enthusiasm for learning.
Though Dumbledore didn't need to attend classes, he wasn't completely free either. On top of that, his age meant his energy didn't always keep up. Being hounded by George for long periods wore him down mentally.
Fortunately, George wasn't inconsiderate. After Dumbledore discussed it with him, he made some adjustments and allocated some time to Snape, McGonagall, and other professors.
Although these professors had classes, they still had some free time.
While Harry Potter's clone entered a frenzy of learning, the panda clone in the Wizard Apprentice World was also making new progress.
Previously, the panda clone spent most of its time meditating to raise its wizard level, hoping to quickly reach level 500 and attain immortality.
Recently, it finally reached level 500, so it reduced meditation time and instead began focusing more on learning magic from Balthazar.
And today, it finally learned the most powerful magic in the Merlin system—Plasma Cannon magic.
Wizards in this world all share a common weakness: they are extremely vulnerable to electric shocks. When electric currents enter their bodies, it causes their magic to become unstable and renders them powerless to resist.
Thus, wizards usually wear insulated leather shoes and coats.
George didn't have this concern. His magic stemmed entirely from his wizard bloodline. Meditation was more like a method to enhance magic level based on this bloodline, and his control over magic far exceeded that of native wizards in this world.
Besides, he was already an Electrokinetic—able to release two hundred million volts of electricity at will. How could he possibly fear being shocked?
David ultimately defeated Morgana by using scientific instruments to generate massive electric shocks, disrupting her magical flow and preventing her from casting spells. Then he delivered an extraordinary strike with a plasma railgun, firing like a machine gun.
Normally, even Balthazar could only cast one of these at a time. Though his blasts were larger and more powerful than David's, it was still just one.
When George first learned the spell, he could only form one shot at a time, and it was about the size of a chicken egg—similar to David's.
However, George was now a Level 4 Ability User, capable of using 200 million volts of electricity.
So he started thinking—if he could fuse the Railgun with this Plasma Cannon magic, could he create an even more powerful attack method?
