It had been a while now since Dan and Nate left the cave. Ever since Dan had heard about Nate's ordeal and how it resonated with him, he kind of grew a soft spot for him.
Though a lot of beings have fallen to his blade, Dan wasn't completely cold hearted as some beings would think. Instead, he may actually be soft, though.
They had now been traversing the scorching plains of the second heaven in silence. The gruesome sun was ever shining and burning the skin of the realm's inhabitants.
"So, why do you always wear a mask?" Nate started a conversation.
Dan kept walking and did not answer. His eyes still remained forward when he felt uneasy. He felt as though something was gazing into his very soul.
He then turned only to notice Nate won't let the question go.
"Huh," Dan sighed.
"Let's just say to just keep my identity hidden."
"A hidden identity? Who are you hiding from?" the boy asked as he began staring around to see if they were being followed.
"A lot of bad people."
