With the morning came untapped potential, by 11 pm Jason will be guaranteed to accomplish his first goal. In just half a week Jason would improve his memorization to levels he didn't think were possible.
Every moment leading up to this. It hasn't even been a week and he was relishing in this system. He was taking it slow and even still he was accomplishing something he never thought was possible.
The library and now Vivian was seeminglessly integrating into his life. Jason speeds through his morning routines to rush to the library again. He doesnt forget to hug his brother and sister goodbye and wish them a good day.
It's strange how hope can change someone so quickly. Jason is in all accounts still a loser. He is poor and just days ago was too depressed to try anything. His parents are dead and he has no support to achieve anything he wants. He is constantly bullied and has no friends.
But now, Jason has hope. He has something to fight for. A line that he can cling to and his family.
The library is empty as usual at this time. Jason sets his stuff down and finds another book on memorization. He is going to start on the books he checked out for school after but first he needs to get double exp to pop. He finds a book that can open up more foundational knowledge. Jason discovers a research journal on science of memorization and the difference between route memorization and active learning. There is a lot of research but luckily everything is written in an easy way to understand.
"Hey 007 you are back again, what's on the agenda this time?"
"Oh-Hey Vivian." Vivian sits down next to Jason. He goes over some of the communication tips in his head. 'Stay calm and breathe,' He thinks to himself. "Researching ways to memorize information better, then studying for school."
"Really? I didn't think you studied regular school subjects at this point." Vivian laughs as she lightly teases him. She sets down an art pad and a book on anatomy.
Jason looks over her book. 'Time for a natural transition, come on Jason just talk like you are talking to your siblings. Yeah she's hot but you speak to Carry all the time and she's gorgeous too. Just breathe.' Jason tries to urge himself forward.
"So you're going to take me up on my offer?" Jason says.
"I can at least sit here and draw for an hour or two. My parents won't be home for awhile and they won't be hounding me on some lame report." Vivian opens up a little more about her parents and Jason feels like he can actually talk to a normal person. She spreads her art pad and begins to draw some practice poses using references from the anatomy book.
Jason moves to his own reading, peeking over at some of her art, and he is amazed at how beautiful it is. "Wow.." Jason can't help but say out loud.
"What? Is it bad?" Vivian asks quickly covering up her art.
"No-it's, it's great. Really. It's beautiful." Jason fumbles out of his mouth. Ashamed he even said what he was thinking out loud.
"Really.." Vivian's face flushes with heat and a slight rosiness beads under her dark skin. "Thanks dude. That means a lot."
"Ye-Yeah. No problem. I'll leave you be now." Jason rushes to pour his eyes over his history textbook secretly chastizing himself, all while Vivian is thinking about how cute he is.
Hours pass and Vivian begins working on more advanced science and math. Things you would only see college students work on let alone a highschooler. She might be eighteen as well but its absurd that she is this advanced already. Jason isn't jealous but a fire in him is lit when he sees how effortelessly she breezes through it. He promises he will be there soon. For now it's basic history textbook and the rest of his classes. He hopes his reading will pop some sort of skill but for now he will do what's manageable.
"Oh shit." Vivian exclaims as she looks at her phone. She turns to say goodbye but hesitates. "I need to leave. Uh-I'll see you later...Jason."
Vivian rushes passed him leaving her bag behind. She doesn't say much this time while leaving and Jason wonders if it's about the artwork. 'Maybe she doesn't get a lot of compliments. Crazy with how beautiful her and her artwork is. Maybe that's why she is so nice to me.' Jason doesn't think about it for long. He sets down his history textbook filled with notes and highlighted sections. He's written down important dates and names and quotes too to help with memorizing key events. Everything makes him way ahead of his peers already in this one subject.
He will read it again later but for now he moves onto the next subject. He opens the textbook and a sudden drop hits the page.
A light red blood stain hits the front of his physics textbook and a sudden dizziness hits him.
"Woah. System what is..happening?"
[Overwork. It's obvious isn't it. Although you can read fast, currently your brain cannot keep up with the information. A textbook is too rich to read in one day.]
'Fuck. Without the memorization skill my brain is just being strained to hell. I could feel the tired but i just kept pushing through. I need to get home.. I need sleep.'
Jason nods off into the couch, right before he passes out with blood running down his nose, Vivian is standing over him.
"Jason!" Vivian shakes him trying to get Jason to open his eyes. He looks at her worried dark brown eyes. All he can think is how beautiful she is and a final thought fills his head before he loses consiousness.
'Shit, I'm passing out again in front of a gorgeous woman. I really need to stop doing this.'
