After battling for hours, I, Kex Tejowrath, killed the Demi-Lord "Mahaan," leaving the city of Hungor completely destroyed, covered in blood, and filled with the bodies of fallen monsters and warriors.
"Mahaan" the monster who massacred an entire island just to claim the title of Demi-Lord, was finally slain on Hungor Island—but at the cost of countless warriors' lives.
Leaning on my sword for support, my body was covered in wounds, bleeding both internally and externally. My vision was blurred, and I could no longer smell anything. After pushing my powers to their extremes, all my senses had dulled. This was the toughest battle of my life. Killing a Demi-Lord was no easy task—it demanded great sacrifice.
My vision was blurry, but I could make out a figure approaching me. The figure came closer, and in the blink of an eye, my stomach was pierced by a dagger held by that very figure.
When I came back to my senses, I saw my precious wife, Eve, as the one who had stabbed me. Upon seeing her face, I restrained myself from retaliating. Had I not recognized her, I would have cut the attacker's body in two.
"Die, you bastard! Our child was killed because of your mistake. Because of your work and negligence, I lost my precious baby. I hate you—I hate myself for loving you, for trusting you. I cried every day thinking about our child, while you... You monster! You didn't even have a heart to mourn. All you care about is your work!" she screamed, slapping my face repeatedly with her small hands.
I hugged her tightly. While she kept shouting, and then I noticed her eyes, they were emotionless still they leaked tears, and her eyes were filled with a dark, unnatural glow. She didn't seem like herself. That's when I realized—my wife was hypnotized. I could feel another presence besides me and Eve.
"Come out before I slash you into pieces. If you try to escape, better do it without me noticing. That way, I'll let you live. Otherwise, your death won't be painless—I'll show you what true death looks like."
Slowly, a woman emerged from behind Eve.
When I looked at her, I recognized someone I knew well. "Cruella! What are you doing here?" I asked, shocked. Eve turned around to see who it was. Suddenly, Cruella grabbed Eve and placed her wand against her head.
"If you come any closer, I'll blow her head off. Stay still. In a few minutes, the poison I used will kill you—painlessly, of course—and set you free from this world. The poison was created by me to kill you, so I had mixed and combined every poison element I could find. But I don't want unnecessary casualties, so I'll send you to the 'Forbidden Continent,' a place from which no man has ever returned. Even if you survive the poison, you won't survive that place."
Cruella removed a bangle from her hand, chanted something, and threw it in front of me. The bangle transformed into a portal beside me. I had no strength left to move.
"Kex Tejowrath, before you die, how about watching your dear wife die first, huh? I liked you more than her, and yet you chose her over me. Now, watch as she gets stabbed the same way she stabbed you."
Cruella stabbed Eve in the chest from behind with her wand and threw her to the ground. Before I could muster the strength to move, I was sucked into the portal by force.
One last time, before I closed my eyes, all I could think about was my dear Eve and the child we lost after she gave birth.
Where did it all go wrong?
I never thought I will die like this.
It all started when I decided to study at Stardome Academy—and my life took a turn I never expected.
