After confirming that Harry had taken the Galleons he needed, the goblin's eyes remained fixed on the vast pile of coins inside the vault.
Harry almost suspected the goblin was flaunting his big eyeballs on purpose.
The goblin extended his hand, and with a sudden pop in the air, all the piles of Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts vanished without a trace.
Only a faint trail of strange bluish smoke lingered in the stone chamber, proof that a magical transference spell had just been used.
Harry was envious—goblins were a race naturally gifted in spatial magic. Even when wizards studied these spells, they rarely matched goblins in skill.
"Your money has been transferred to Gringotts' accounting department. Let's head over and take a look."
"Can you Apparate me up there?"
The goblin answered bluntly, "No."
Harry: "…Alright, let's go then."
...
Before a long row of identical doors, the goblin leading him unerringly pushed one open.
It was not what Harry had imagined: he had expected a modest room with a pile of his coins, some weighing tools, and maybe one or two goblins inside.
In reality, the room was a massive hall with polished floors. Dozens of goblins sat at workbenches, busy with various tasks.
One goblin, wearing a monocle over one eye, carefully scraped powder off a silver ore sample using a long, thin knife before beginning his analysis.
Another goblin clutched a gray parchment scroll, using a long goose-feather quill dipped in ink to record a pile of accounting figures on the table.
...
Aside from marveling at how enormous Gringotts really was, what else could Harry say?
In one corner of the hall, Harry's coins had already been piled up. The goblin with him rolled over a large wooden contraption from Merlin-knows-where. It resembled one of those odd Muggle machines found in junkyards—bulky and oddly cobbled together.
Harry stood off to the side and muttered to himself, "I remember someone saying the Malfoy family's fortune, if converted to Muggle currency, would be worth hundreds of millions. The gap really is massive... But I suppose that makes sense. They are an ancient pure-blood family."
He then blended into the crowd of witches and wizards in Diagon Alley, snowflakes swirling behind him.
...
Buying gifts—it's time-consuming, energy-draining, and expensive.
But Harry wasn't worried.
Because, truthfully, what he needed to do was quite simple.
For friends from wizarding families, he only had to buy ordinary Muggle-world items, and they'd be thrilled beyond belief with these "exotic" Christmas gifts.
And for friends from the Muggle world, well, Diagon Alley had plenty of strange and magical oddities that would surely surprise and delight them!

Luo Bei's Notes:
Regarding Harry's fortune, I looked it up thoroughly. First, I researched the conversion between Galleons and British pounds, U.S. dollars, and Chinese yuan. Since exchange rates have changed over the years, there are many different answers. But I found one that's generally accepted, and even appears in the original books. It's considered canon based on Rowling's own statement.
One important point: how do we calculate Harry's actual wealth?
There's some debate online. Some say Harry didn't have much—maybe just tens of thousands of Galleons—because he once said he had to budget his spending during the school year.
Others argue that he was quite wealthy.
Personally, I support the latter. Heh.
In the original series, there's a moment where Harry casually tosses a pouch containing 1,000 Galleons. That suggests he wasn't overly concerned about that amount.
And don't forget—Harry had an entire vault filled with treasure.
It wasn't packed to the brim, but it held a sizable hoard.
Let's estimate based on the vault shown in the films.
Imagine filling a public restroom with coins. That's right—a space about 1 meter wide, 1.5 meters long, and 3 meters high. That gives us 4.5 cubic meters.
A standard hand-held coin jar can store about 800 coins. Its dimensions are roughly 13.5cm x 13.5cm x 17.5cm.
A typical green garbage bin can hold 250 liters.
So a 4.5m³ vault could fit about 18 of those bins.
Each bin holds roughly 80 coin jars.
That adds up to approximately 1,152,000 coins.
Assuming 60% are Galleons, 20% Sickles, and 20% Knuts, we can estimate the breakdown of Harry's fortune.
Phew... shoutout to my math teacher!
