Its trembling.
Why?
Someone connected to it.
How is that possible?
It's not supposed to be.
Can you fix it?
Not without killing him.
Then kill him.
I can't.
Why-
He'll be angry.
Who?
Eternity.
Why does it care?
I don't know.
This makes no sense.
I know... we must prepare.

"AHH!" I yell out, throwing the blankets off of myself and jumping out of the bed I'm lying on. My heart is racing, and my vision is blurry from the sudden change in gravity. My stomach churns, my eyes burn, and my head is splitting, all at once. I hear a loud noise coming from the door to the room im in, followed by many footsteps that seem to reverberate throughout the room. The loud clanging of the guards' boots worsens my headache, but I try and tune them out. Suddenly, the large golden door swings open with intense force, and I'm greeted by the sight of several people, mainly my mother, Freya, my two brothers, and even Odin.
"Verdandi!" my mother yells, my head splitting at the loud noise. Get back in bed. What are you doing up?!" She says, grabbing my arm and back, guiding me back into bed.
"Mom, what happened?" I say, following her orders as I crawl back into bed.
"Your divinity unlocked, my son," the Allfather said, his voice soft and lacking his usual commanding presence.
"My divinity? What?" I say, my head still splitting, but for some reason, the light rubbing my mother applies to my forehead helps tremendously.
"As a son of Odin, you were born with a random divinity, but to ensure you could survive through childhood, I sealed it until you reached a certain age. However, it seems to have unlocked a little early."
"So... what? I have a power or something? Like Thor?"
"Yes, my son," Odin says.
"So... what is it? Do I have lightning powers like Thor? Or is it different?"
"I don't know; your power is unlike anything I've ever seen. But I can say one thing: It seems to be connected to a primordial entity." Odin said, a look of regret crossing his face as if remembering something from his past.
"Just like my sister..." I say absentmindedly, forgetting that I'm not supposed to know about Hella yet.
Odin's face pauses at my words, and even Freyja looks at me with suspicion. "Sister? Are you talking about Loki? HAHAHAHA!" Thor jokes, and only Loki reacts by punching him in the arm.
"How do you know about your sister?" Odin asks me, his eye narrowing in suspicion, his question more of a demand for me to spill my secrets.
"Um... Father... Can we talk alone?" I say, my voice pleading as I realize the blunder I've caused. Without hesitation, the rest of our family leaves. Once they'd left, I simply stare at Odin for a while, my hands literally shaking from the intimidating stare he's giving me, but I refuse to look away.
"Well? I'm waiting, Verdandi." He says, his patience wearing thin.
"Aye... Father, would you believe me if I told you... I'm a reincarnation?"
"Yes."
"Wha- HUH!? Just like that? No asking for proof? No distrust?" I say, exasperation and disbelief coating my words and face.
"You're my son. I have no reason to think you're lying unless you give me a reason." Odin says so casually, as if that's not the most mentally and emotionally healthy thing he's ever told me.
"Well, that certainly makes things... easier? Well, it's true. I was reincarnated from another world. Er- I should say universe? Anyways, I have memories from that world, and for some reason, that world knows of this one to some extent, and that's how I knew of Hella." I say slowly, trying to explain in the best way possible that his universe is nothing other than entertainment for my old one.
"Interesting... I don't sense you are lying to me... Very well, I will choose to believe you for now, seeing as your story is so elaborate, but if I ever discover you somehow managed to trick me today, there will be severe punishment. Understood?" He said, his eye narrowing in a threatening glare, to which I nodded profusely.
"Understood." I say, a smile coming onto my face.
"So, as you may expect, I have many questions, but for now I will simply leave you to recover from your awakened divinity. I have some things to do, so I have to go, but I will find you later to discuss things." Odin begins to turn around, but before he can I blurt out a question.
"Father, do you happen to know what my divinity is?!" I say, but to my annoyance, he turns around, looks into my eyes, and smiles before walking away. Being left speechless, I throw my arms in the air in frustration.
A few seconds after Odin walks out, everyone else walks back in: Loki, Thor, Freya, Axl, Avaria, and Voltair. They all begin asking me random questions, many of which I don't have the answers to. Eventually, Freyja notices that Im looking a little overwhelmed from all the questions, so she tells everyone to give me some space. No one dares go against the Allmother, so they all reluctantly leave, much to my appreciation.
"Thanks, Mom." I sigh, laying back against the mattress as I try to wrap my head around my newfound divinity. "Father wouldn't tell me what my divinity is, do you know why, Mom?"
"I can't begin to imagine your father's reasoning for not telling you; he often works in riddles. He didn't tell Thor, but that's because Thor discovered his rather violently, as I'm sure you remember. He accidentally blew up the training area with a massive lightning bolt, so his divinity was quite evident. Yours, I reckon, will likely be much more difficult to determine the name of." She explains, sitting on the bed and stroking my head lovingly, something she does to all her children when troubled.
"Great, I bet this'll be annoying. Although... maybe this has something to do with what I saw when I was young..." I say, referring to when I was reincarnated and saw what looked to be the being known as Eternity, pointing at me.
"What did you see, Verdi?" Freyja says, her mouth frowning slightly, but her eyes locked on mine.
"I'm not sure, but once in a dream, I saw something like a universe given form, and it pointed at me... I thought it was just a figment of my imagination then, but maybe it has something to do with my Divinity?" I say, my thoughts a whirl of possibilities.
"A universe... Pointed at you?" Suddenly, she flinches slightly, as if she just realized something, "It couldn't be, could it? But why would it interfere?" She says, holding her chin in thought, her brow furrowed and her eyes closed. Then, after a few moments, she schools her expression and turns back to me to say, "I have to go speak with your father, stay in bed and rest, you've been through a lot. I love you, Verdi." She says, kissing my forehead before leaving the room.
-
"Dear, can I have a word with you." Freyja says, but her words are less of a request and more of a demand, which Odin picks up on instantly, flinching slightly before walking over to her and bringing her into a private room.
"Freyja, my love, what's wrong," Odin says, his expression stoic, but Freyja can read the slight sign of terror on his face.
"Did you know that Verdandi was visited by Eternity?" Freyja says, dropping a bomb on Odin, but he barely reacts, giving Freyja her answer. "So you did know, why didn't you tell me? I'd think this is a rather important thing to communicate to me." She says, her brow furrowed in calm fury, and a drop of sweat beads down Odin's face.
"It didn't seem so important at the time, so I was going to tell you later, but-"
"Not important?" She interrupts, a normally very disrespectful gesture towards Odin, but a Woman's Scorn is like no other, and Odin knows this all too well. "I consider this a significant thing to bring up! We're talking about Eternity here!" She says she only raises her voice slightly, but for Freyja to raise her voice even a little is a grave issue.
"I apologize, Freyja. I should have communicated this to you earlier, but to be fair, it doesn't have much effect on our lives. Eternity visited Verdandi for less than a millisecond, so I thought it was simply inspecting him. Though now that I think about it, it makes sense why Eternity visited him, considering what Verdi recently told me."
"What did he tell you?"
"Verdandi is a reincarnation from another universe."
"..."
"Freyja?"
"Are you joking? Cause that's a weird thing to joke about."
"I'm not joking, my love."
"..." For a few seconds she simply stood there, thinking, before she eventually spoke again, "So Eternity brought Verdandi's soul to this universe?"
"My thoughts exactly."
"Well... that's certainly... interesting. What purpose did Eternity have in doing that? What made him move in such a way? Is Verdandi Special in some way we aren't aware of?"
"I'm not sure, but it's sure to be important."
