At Thomas Moon's house.
Alex feels bad to see how withered his expression has become, and his gaze appears empty.
Thomas Moon had not spoken since leaving Andrew Graystone's home office. He appeared lost in his own thoughts as if only his body existed while his soul had left him.
Even when Alex trailed him to his house, Thomas Moon didn't spare him a glance. He only realized Alex was following him when he noticed him walking into his home.
They sat in the living room for almost an hour, lost in their own thoughts.
Just as Alex reached for his phone to text Aurora, Thomas Moon's hoarse, thin voice shattered the silence.
"Young Master, please tell me what I heard from your grandfather isn't true." Thomas Moon's eyes were red as he stared at Alex. "Please say I'm just dreaming right now," he added.
Alex exhaled deeply while attempting to smile at Thomas Moon, even though his smile didn't reach his eyes.
