Chapter 35 - Chapter 35

Aurora was shocked to hear Hyacinth's voice—it turned out the novel's description hadn't been exaggerated at all.

In the novel, the description of Hyacinth claimed she was perfect in every way—even in gambling.

It was so flattering toward the main character that she even wondered if the author was describing their crush or writing fanfiction about their idol.

The two S's—Soren and Sora were proud of Hyacinth. They knew her voice well, which was exactly why they agreed to this performance with barely any hesitation. Their friend was undeniably talented.

As Hyacinth stood center stage, singing with raw emotion, Soren and Sora played behind her.

Soren strummed a steady rhythm on her electric guitar, her fingers moving with practiced ease, while Sora added melodic chords on her acoustic, gently swaying to the beat.

The music wrapped around Hyacinth's vocals, supporting her without overshadowing her.

Hyacinth stepped forward, gripping the mic with both hands. Her voice dropped into a haunting softness as she continued.

"Now I'm just learning how to lie..."

The spotlight caught the shimmer of her eyes, reflecting the heartbreak in her voice.

She was clearly fully immersed in her role as the lead singer—Hyacinth wasn't just performing; she was living every word of the song.

Aurora didn't fall behind either. She poured herself into the drums, her arms moving in smooth, practiced motions.

With each beat, she rolled into fills, tapping the snare and cymbals in rhythm, the drumsticks dancing between her fingers with precision.

Her footwork on the bass pedal matched her energy, grounding the song's emotional intensity.

Hyacinth let herself sink deeper into the song, her voice filled with raw vulnerability. She held nothing back.

If someone looked closely, they might have noticed the silver gleam of a tear slipping down her cheek—quiet, almost invisible beneath the stage lights.

"Told myself I'm fine,

But every mirror cries

Your name like a warning,

Every night, I die."

Aurora was completely absorbed in her performance, basking in the rhythm and letting the music take over.

Focused and locked in, she didn't notice someone in the audience watching her with quiet intensity.

The onlooker's amber phoenix like eyes were fixed on Aurora, captivated by how deeply the drummer was immersed in her craft.

The way her body moved with the drums, how she poured emotion into every strike—it was impossible to look away.

Aurora was dressed in a simple yet stylish outfit a fitted black shirt tucked into high waisted, wide legged trousers that flowed just enough to catch movement with each beat.

The pants weren't too tight nor overly loose—somewhere in between, like the trendy palazzo style or modern flared cut that offered both comfort and flair.

The person beside her noticed Freya was staring at someone.

"Oh? Someone caught your eye?"

Freya simply smiled but didn't reply.

"Oh, come on. You know how often she turns people down—omegas, betas, even other alphas. Everyone's interested in her."

The one who look like man at first glance was the same person who first questioned Freya—nodded and said, "It's unusual for an alpha like you to still be single. You're not getting any younger, you know."

The one wearing glasses teased, "You're single too. Maybe you should take your own advice instead. Honestly, Freya doesn't even have to lift a finger—she could have every omega wrapped around her if she wanted."

"Hmph, how about you, Avery? You've been single your whole life!" the masculine woman said, pointing at the girl with glasses.

Avery responded with a smirk. "I'm not like you, who's addicted to games all day. The only reason you became a teacher at that school was because the salary paid well—just enough for you to buy your kid's toys."

The masculine looking woman sneered. "Hmph, at least the person I like isn't a minor!"

Avery nearly spat out her drink. "She's not a minor—she's twenty years old!"

She glared at Uremia, who was always spewing nonsense. "That's why your name is Uremia. You Urine!"

Uremia's eyes widened in outrage. "What did you just say!?? Uremia is a gorgeous, unique name! Unlike your boring 'Avery' you can find an Avery on every street corner. If I yelled your name in a crowd, half the people would turn around!"

They glared at each other, neither willing to back down—until Hyacinth suddenly broke into song, hitting high notes as she raised the mic dramatically:

"'Cause you were my fire

Now I'm just ash in the wind

I gave you my choir—"

The two stopped bickering mid glare.

"Oh? This young lad is actually good," said Uremia—

"Urine," Avery muttered under her breath.

Uremia spun toward the sky. "Author?! Not you too?!"

Avery smirked. "Told you. Even the author agrees with me."

She sipped her drink through a straw, idly circling it with one slender finger. "Mhm, and she's singing with real emotion too. She looks young... probably heartbroken."

"Kinda reminds me of your first romance. Remember that guy who dumped you because you were 'too tall'? Even though he said he liked tall people?"

Avery spoke with a nostalgic tone, while Uremia responded with a blank expression.

"That omega guy... I found out he actually prefers older people. He told me he likes tall and elderly types?"

Avery and Freya both side eyed her.

Avery burst out laughing. "Seriously?"

Uremia nodded, completely serious. "I'm not joking. I even saw him making out with one of our seniors once..."

Avery raised an eyebrow. "Wait, you said he was into elders. Since when is a senior considered 'elderly'?"

Uremia looked away, shifting her gaze to the stage where Hyacinth was still performing. "Well... that senior looked really old, okay?"

Avery laughed even harder, playfully slapping Uremia's thigh. Uremia glared at her.

"Y-you should HAHA—I mean, sleep... not sleep whatever!" Avery wheezed, unable to stop laughing.
