The afternoon drifted by quietly.
After sinking into the couch and letting his thoughts run wild for a while, James eventually pulled himself up, forcing his mind to settle down.
He knew that there was no point drowning in emotions now. What happened between him and Leslie... it happened. No regrets. There was no reason to feel so.
But tmge will still have to figure everything out later and there would be more than enough time to do that.
Right now, he had something else to focus on — the dinner date with Natasha.
Time moved faster than he realized. Before he knew it, the sun had started its slow descent over the horizon, painting the sky in soft streaks of gold and pink.
James brought out his phone and checked the time.
5: 10pm
A little under two hours left.
He pushed himself off the couch with a grunt and walked to the bathroom. Staring at himself in the mirror, he saw the slight messiness of his hair, the faint signs of emotions lingering on his face.
