Chapter 8 - Chapter 7/ Cain mysia pov

Cain and his friends decided to hang out at his restaurant since they had a few matters to discuss, and they figured it was better to talk on a full stomach. They headed to his private VIP section, where a waiter soon arrived to take their order. As Cain reached for his phone, he noticed a notification from his assistant. One of his competitors had attempted to purchase the same piece of land Cain had been negotiating for, offering the owner a much higher bid. The message filled Cain with rage.

While their drinks were being served, the waiter left, only to return a few minutes later to ask if they needed anything else. Without looking at her, Cain turned to his friends.

"Do you guys need anything else?" he asked.

"No, we're good for now," one of them replied.

Cain stood up to call his assistant and give further instructions. Just then, someone bumped into him with unexpected force. His phone slipped from his hand and crashed harshly to the floor. Annoyed, he looked up to see who had collided with him.

It was the same waiter—and upon closer look, he recognized her. It was Princess's sister.

She stared back at him in shock.

Without hesitation, Cain grabbed her by the bicep and dragged her slightly closer. "Are you blind or what?" he snapped.

Kassia, clearly shaken, began apologizing in a trembling voice.

"I'm so sorry, sir… I'm really sorry…"

She quickly bent down to pick up the phone, but when she saw the screen was badly cracked, her expression changed to one of horror. Cain snatched the phone from her hands with such force that Kassia winced, feeling pain shoot through her fingers.

"Look at what you've done, you clumsy fool," Cain growled. He shoved her roughly, and she nearly fell to the ground. One of Cain's friends rushed forward to steady her just in time.

"Cain, calm down," Gabriel said firmly. He turned to the girl and noticed she was crying silently.

Cain rolled his eyes. "I hate women who cry. It's pathetic and irritating," he spat. "Will you shut that trap of yours? Is crying going to fix my phone? Get the f*** out of my face. Now!"

Gabriel gently led Kassia out of the room. She was a sobbing mess.

God, she's an ugly crier, Cain thought bitterly.

He looked down at his phone. It was completely destroyed.

"I'll need to get this repaired," he muttered. Then, turning to his friends, he added, "Let's get out of here. I'm no longer in the mood to talk business."

They left through Cain's private elevator. Cain decided to head home—he needed to take control of the land situation as soon as possible. When the group reached the garage, they parted ways.

When Cain arrived home, the house was dark. All the lights were off, which likely meant that the staff had gone to bed—it was already past midnight. He made his way to his room, took a shower to calm his nerves, and brought out his laptop to get some work done.

After working for a few hours, a loud crash interrupted his focus. He heard the sound of glass shattering downstairs. It seemed to be coming from the kitchen.

Cain immediately stood up and went to check it out.

He switched on the lights and saw Caleb, clearly intoxicated, stumbling around and tripping over everything in sight.

"Caleb, what the hell?" Cain asked, confused and irritated.

"Hi, big brother," Caleb slurred with a lazy grin. "Didn't think you'd be home this early. You're always so busy."

Caleb staggered toward Cain and tapped him on the shoulder.

"Big brother, I missed you. You were gone for so long. I came home every day… and there was no one around to hear me or caution me."

Cain sighed. "Caleb, you're drunk. You don't know what you're saying. Let's get you to bed—we'll talk in the morning."

He helped Caleb upstairs and called a staff member to assist in getting him settled. Once that was taken care of, Cain returned to his room to finish his work.

As he sat at his desk, his mind drifted back to the incident at the restaurant. Had it been anyone else, he would have fired them without hesitation. But since it was Princess's sister, he couldn't react the way he truly wanted to.

Cain sighed, closing his laptop. The clock read 3:00 AM.

Let's see if I can get some sleep, he thought to himself.
