Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Master Plan

In the years that followed, William and Alex executed their ambitious plan with precision. The vaults began to rise across the nation, each a self-sustaining city fortified with power armor and armed transports. They hired skilled construction crews, engineers, and security personnel, ensuring that every vault was built to withstand the worst.

The duo's reputation grew, and whispers of their operation spread through underground channels. They became known as the "Vault Lords," a title that struck both fear and respect. People wanted to be part of their vision, and those who met their standards were welcomed with open arms.

One evening, as William and Alex reviewed the progress of the vaults, a new idea sparked in Alex's mind. "What if we put our people in cryo-sleep? Each bunker could hold up to 70,000. We can select only the best to ensure our survival."

William considered this, his brow furrowing. "Cryo-sleep? That's a risky proposition. What if something goes wrong?"

Alex waved his hand dismissively. "We'll have contingency plans. And think about it—while the world outside descends into madness, our people will be safe and sound, waiting for the right moment to emerge."

The idea took root, and the brothers began to invest in cryogenic technology, seeking out experts in the field. They planned to create a network of bunkers, each equipped with the latest advancements in cryogenics, allowing them to protect their most valuable assets.

Meanwhile, above ground, they constructed formidable walls and automated defenses. Drones patrolled the perimeters, scanning for any signs of threat. Armed guards stood vigilant, their presence a deterrent to anyone considering a breach.

As the years slipped by, their preparations bore fruit. The vaults were filled, and the space station loomed above, a beacon of hope amidst the encroaching darkness. It was now only a year until the anticipated apocalypse, and the leadership team convened to finalize their plans.
