Chapter 29: Alpha
Xia Feng paused for a moment before explaining, "When I received the information about my spiritual weapon, the level column didn't show an 'N.' Instead, it displayed a word—A-L-P-H-A."
"I thought it meant Grade A," Xia Feng said, rubbing his forehead in regret.
Black Crow: "..."
Black Crow: "..."
Black Crow: "..."
"Hello? Ms. Black Crow?" Xia Feng looked up, confused, only to see Black Crow staring at him with vacant eyes. He waved his hand in front of her. "What's wrong with you? Are you okay?"
Flutter~
At that moment, the black crow suddenly swooped down from the branch, landing directly in front of Xia Feng. Her eyes were intense, and her voice trembled slightly as she demanded, "Say that word again."
Xia Feng blinked, then repeated, "Alpha."
"Alpha?" Black Crow whispered, her voice shaking. She looked at Xia Feng as if he were some kind of monster. "You actually awakened an Alpha-level spiritual weapon?!"
"Wait... what does that mean?" Xia Feng asked, though he was starting to piece it together. His eyes widened in realization. "So, my spiritual weapon is actually incredibly powerful? It's not just S-level, is it?"
"You're way off!" Black Crow smacked Xia Feng's head with her wing, exasperated. "This is a god-tier level! An Alpha-level spiritual weapon is something even gods dream of obtaining!"
"Really?" Xia Feng's pupils dilated further. "So, you're saying my spiritual weapon is even rarer than S-level?"
"Naturally!"
Black Crow was furious that Xia Feng still didn't fully grasp the magnitude of what he had awakened. She took a deep breath, muttering to herself, "This is unbelievable... absolutely unbelievable!"
Among all the people she had guided, none had ever awakened an S-level spiritual weapon, let alone an Alpha-level one. This human brat had completely defied her expectations.
"Ms. Black Crow, calm down for a second—" Xia Feng said, noticing that she seemed more excited than he was. "Can you explain this to me properly? What exactly does this mean?"
Black Crow paused, then shook her head solemnly. "This involves secrets I cannot disclose. Just remember two things: First, this is a level of spiritual weapon that even Star Gods might never awaken. Second, from now on, you must never reveal your spiritual weapon's level to anyone—not even your closest family. This secret must remain with you alone."
Seeing how serious Black Crow was, Xia Feng nodded firmly. He understood that this was a level of power that could bring him unimaginable danger.
"I understand," Xia Feng said, then added, "But Ms. Black Crow, I still have one more question."
Given that Xia Feng had awakened such an extraordinary spiritual weapon, Black Crow's attitude softened slightly. "What is it?" she asked.
"Since your spiritual weapon space can awaken spiritual weapons, can it also help upgrade them?" Xia Feng asked, his eyes curious.
"Figure that out on your own. Don't rely on me for everything," Black Crow replied, rolling her eyes. "The spiritual weapon space only aids in awakening. It has no other functions. If you want to enhance your spiritual weapon's abilities, you'll need to either comprehend them through life-and-death battles or find stones with corresponding properties."
Stones could upgrade spiritual weapon abilities. Among them, [attributeless] stones were cheap, costing around 200,000 imperial coins each, and only provided temporary enhancements, similar to stimulants in combat. On the other hand, [Existence Attribute] stones were extremely rare and could permanently improve spiritual weapons. These were almost never available on the market and often sold for tens or even hundreds of millions of imperial coins at auctions.
For example, Xia Feng's magic mirror, which had no stand and was of the water element, currently only had its replication ability activated. The other abilities, optimization and elimination of falsehoods, could only be temporarily activated using attributeless stones. To permanently unlock them, he would need a hydrolyzed stone, which was exceedingly rare.
"It's clear that poor people can't afford to be spiritual masters," Xia Feng thought, sighing internally. Suddenly, his expression changed, and he clutched his chest.
Thump-thump-thump—thump-thump-thump—
Xia Feng glanced at the woman on the throne, then turned back to Black Crow. "Should I go and take today's portion?"
Black Crow nodded. "Go ahead."
Just like before, Xia Feng passed through the terrifying force field without resistance. The closer he got, the faster his heart raced. His legs trembled, not from fear, but from overwhelming excitement.
The Evil Dragon woman sat motionless on her throne, her eyes closed. A dark golden cross was engraved on her forehead, and her face—half-covered in dragon scales and half in human beauty—radiated an aura of mystery and sanctity.
Xia Feng leaned in slightly, lifting her chin gently. He brought his lips close to hers and took a deep breath. A thick, black liquid seeped into his mouth.
Black Crow watched from her perch, her eyes dim with contemplation. She had already found it strange that Xia Feng could ignore the Evil Dragon's force field, and now he had awakened an Alpha-level spiritual weapon. She could no longer see through this human named Xia Feng.
But one thing was clear: the outside world was changing. With a sigh, Black Crow closed her eyes. "Little human, I hope you can truly awaken her."
[Remaining Activity: 12 days and 5 hours]
Xia Feng's lifespan had increased by seven days, so he didn't need to worry about activity for now. However, fully repairing the Demon's Heart and unlocking new abilities would take much longer.
"I need to raise my spiritual pressure level as soon as possible," Xia Feng thought. "Not only will it increase the time my soul can leave my body, but it will also allow me to absorb more of the Evil Dragon's power at once."
With that in mind, Xia Feng, now in a state of calm, left the Evil Dragon space.
His soul returned to his body. He looked around and saw that the experimental classroom was dark, and the formation on the ground had long since faded. After tidying up the tables and chairs, he quickly left the room.
Meanwhile...
"Is this the place?" Yan Xujia asked, looking up at the luxurious villa in the distance.
A woman dressed in flashy clothes behind him chuckled. "According to our intel, this is the home of a girl named Mo Gugu. Xia Feng hasn't returned home since last night and has been staying here."
Yan Xujia smirked. "This idiot thinks he can hide from me here? Let's go."
With a wave of his hand, he led his men toward the villa.
"Wait for me, Brother Yan~" the woman called out, hurrying after him.
As they turned the corner, a pair of dark green, vertical pupils glowed in the darkness. "Ah!" the woman screamed, stumbling back and falling to the ground, her face pale.
But as the streetlights flickered, they saw the owner of those eyes—a white Persian cat.
"Bruce, Bruce—don't run away!" Mo Gugu called out, running after the cat. She scooped it up, scolding gently, "I told you, the cat food will be here soon!"
Click, click, click—
The sound of high heels echoed as a pair of bright red shoes came into view. Mo Gugu looked up nervously.
The heavily made-up woman glared down at her. "Is this your cat?"
Mo Gugu nodded timidly. "Y-Yes."
"Your cat scared me," the woman said coldly.
"I'm sorry, Bruce didn't mean to," Mo Gugu apologized, her voice trembling.
"Xia Feng is staying here, isn't he?" Yan Xujia stepped forward, glancing at the villa behind her. "Tell him to come out. We've given him enough time to think about his priorities."
Mo Gugu's body tensed, her face flushing red. She clenched her fists, glaring at the man and woman in front of her.
Yan Xujia narrowed his eyes, disliking her defiant look. He smirked and was about to order the woman to teach her a lesson when Mo Gugu suddenly lowered her head and whispered, "Okay."
She pulled out her phone, her fingers shaking as she typed a message at lightning speed:
[Mushroom Hates Potatoes: Don't come back yet. Yan Xujia is here.]
But before she could send it, the woman snatched the phone from her hands.
"Give it back!" Mushroom cried, jumping up to grab it, but she was too short.
The woman held the phone out of reach, laughing. "Brother Yan, this little one isn't being honest."
Yan Xujia took the phone, his face darkening as he read the message. He looked up at Mushroom , his voice cold. "Slap her."
"With pleasure," the woman said, grabbing Mushroom 's hair. She raised her hand, her bright red nails gleaming in the light.
