Jax failed to taste the food he ate. His mind was so lost in everything else that he didn't even notice when he had devoured everything he had in front of him.
'I must've been very hungry,' he thought, but even that he wasn't sure about.
He wanted to leave immediately to return to his room, but he wasn't sure if that was perhaps rude to the other girl? But then, he had paid for it.
"Do you want seconds?" a voice came from before him.
Jax looked up and saw the older woman standing before him. "Ah, no. I'm full."
The woman looked at him. "You look like you're second-guessing your decisions. Just to let you know, I won't be giving your stones back."
"No, no that's not it. I was just thinking," Jax said.
"Thinking about what?" she asked, her eyes like daggers, staring into his soul.
Jax looked at her for a while before lowering his head. "I… I was just… I was just thinking about where the weapons shop is in this village."
