Vesper lifts off all of the rubble from his back and creates an opening for him and lifts the unconscious girl out of the rubble.
He drops the girl on the ground.
He takes off his jacket and puts it under her head for her to use as a pillow.
*Why would I be wearing a jacket in this type of weather??* Vesper thought to himself.
He looks over at the girl.
*She looks a little familiar, like I should know her or some...*
The girl's eyes twitched a bit.
"Oh, you're finally awake." Vesper says.
The girl gets up and opens her eyes.
She has a blank expression on her face.
She takes in the scenery before her and takes a deep breath to smell the aroma of the area
"You good?" Vesper says confused.
She licks the dust on her hand and hears the emptiness of the building and the small cracks of the building just barely being able to hold itself up.
"Hellooo." Vesper says waving her direction.
She grabs Vesper's warm hand and rubs it on her cheek.
Vesper goes red at the sudden interaction and pulls away.
"Oh, sorry," She says with a monotone voice, "I'm just- *Sniff* just so happy that i'm still alive."
She hugs Vesper and cries on his chest.
"Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU, for saving me!! I was so scared." She says.
"Yeah, no problem." He says as he hugs her back.
She pulls away after a few minutes.
"My name is Seraphina, what's yours?" She says as she extends out a hand.
"My name is Vesper, nice to make you acquaintance." He says grabbing onto her hand and handshakes her.
"Now.." Vesper says as he turns around and walks towards the rubble.
Vesper starts to lift the rubble off the ground one by one, searching for something.
Seraphina stares at him lifting the rubble from place to place in confusion.
"What are you doing?" She yells.
"Mythbusting."
"Huh? What do you mean by that?"
"You know the myth about the zombies carrying element stones? Well, I'm fact checking that."
Element stones are crystals that contain elemental cores in them. After digesting one, you will gain whatever element was hidden in that stone.
"That's literally fake, I've already checked before."
"Maybe it's not in the regular zombies but in the merged zombies."
"Wait, how do you know the zombie was merged??"
"I felt the presence of the zombies significantly increased, that's also how I found you, by your presence." Vesper says as he finally finds the merged zombie.
"You can do that?" Seraphina said surprised as she sits in a more comfortable stance on the wall, "How??"
"I don' know..," Vesper responds as he stops moving, " I actually don't remember how or when I learned my technique or fighting styles, I lost my memories due to almost turning into a zombie."
"You too, huh?"
"Wait, you almost turned too?"
"Yeah, I just so happened to come back to my senses last minute, I used to be an area clearer, basically my job is to wipe all zombies from an area so that my organization could loot up the resources in the building, I always had some trouble with them but I didn't think they would try to kill me..." She says looking down
"Maybe it was an accident."
"IT'S NOT AN ACCIDENT!," She yells but then sees Vesper flinch "My bad, but yeah it's not an accident because they always check the vicinity and the area before they assign it to me, they even have a machine to calculate the chances of a merged zombie and other stronger regular or irregular zombies. Which means that they wanted me dead..."
"Wow."
"I know.."
A very akward silence ensues with the end of the conversation.
"Why did you save me anyways?"
"You look familiar...for some reason my body couldn't turn away from saving you..."
"Oh, no wonder, I normally don't sleep that comfortably unless my body knows it can trust the area or person. So, in a way, you must've been someone important to me before I lost my memories."
"Yeah, same here, the only question is.. what was our relationship to each other?"
"That's something we can find out later."
"Yeah, I hope so.."
Another empty silence ensues
Vesper holds out his hand.
"Jinka."
Jinka comes flying out of the rubble and into Vesper's hand.
"You have Jinka!"
"Yeah, I don't know how or why I do, rather more why Ammon would entrust this sword with me, I mean he said himself that he never had a son, only 2 daughters." Vesper says.
"That is interesting.."
Vesper slices into the zombie and purple blood spills out everywhere.
Vesper wipes the blood off his face with his hand.
Some of the blood goes into his mouth.
Vesper digs further into the zombie until he hits something hard.
"I just hit something." Vesper says out loud.
Seraphina runs over and knelt next to him.
He pulls out two elemental stones.
"There seems to be one space stone and a shadow stone." Vesper says in a little confused tune.
"Oh, so the myth is real!"
"Yeah, we just saved ourselves 3ish years worth of searching!!" Vesper says as he lifts his hands up in the air
"I heard that the core acceptance process hurts, and that rejection hurts even more." Seraphina says with worry.
"Don't worry, we'll be fine, i'll take the space stone and you get the shadow, if we both get rejected then we swap." Vesper says with a laid back tone.
"Ok.."
They both hold their stones at their chins.
"On 1, we eat them." Vesper tells Seraphina.
"You got it."
"3"
They both gulp.
"2"
They raise their hands to their mouth.
"1!"
They shove it down their throats.
They both close their eyes and wait for a couple seconds.
"You see, it ain't so bad after all." Vesper says.
"Yeah, you ri-" Seraphina started before she started choking.
Vesper opens his mouth to talk but nothing came out.
His body and eyes burn in pain.
The world around them starts to swirl.
Vesper sees Seraphina drop to the ground unconscious.
"Ser- Sera- Seraphina!" Vesper says he holds out his hand before going unconscious himself.
