Malakai clicked rapidly on the laptop on his lap, typing out the documents he wanted printed. He took a sip of his coffee and reached for the cookie on the minid table next to the loveseat only to find the plate empty.
He was quick to avert his gaze to the edge of the bed where Eve was seated. She paused, swallowing the last bite of the cookie in slow motion.
"What?" She asked. "Why are you staring at me like that?"
Malakai glanced at the plate and then back at her. "When did you—how come I didn't notice…?"
She shrugged. "I thought you didn't want it. You didn't touch it for almost one hour."
He blinked at her.
"I-I'll get you another one," she said apologetically and proceeded to get up from the bed, but Malakai dropping his laptop aside and rising from the loveseat made her pause.
Was he mad?
She didn't expect him to begin approaching her, and that left her confused, her gaze darting from her left to her right. A crooked smile tugged at her lips. "Malakai…?"
