Nikolas pressed his foot harder on the gas, his heart racing, pulse hammering loudly in his ears.
Ever since he had gotten that call from Ricky at the café earlier that afternoon, his mind hadn't settled. He'd just left Cassandra's place, expecting to find Austin there,but he wasn't.
Instead,to his surprise Cassandra had thrown herself at him. He had decided to play along, hoping she might know something about the case, only to be told that Austin doesn't trust her enough to share any personal details.
It seems their engagement too is also a sham.
But that wasn't his problem,right now.
Not seeing Austin at Cassandra's house had only made things a lot more worse. Frustrated and boiling with anger, he was now headed to Austin's house. If he wasn't at Cassandra's, then he had to be at home.
His thoughts spun in every direction. This had to be a mistake somewhere. There was no way Austin was his father's illegitimate son.
