Chapter 73 - Chapter 73: Reappearance! The Giant Shadow South of the Home Planet

"Got it," Bai Ze nodded in understanding. "For now, I'll take some time to adjust my world. After all, it just went through a massive battle."

Hearing this, Xia Yinyue suddenly remembered something.

"Oh, right! I should also adjust my world. That last simulation might've left my creatures with some psychological scars."

Without another word, Xia Yinyue closed her eyes in urgency, letting her consciousness dive into her world.

Unlike Bai Ze, she couldn't infinitely simulate scenarios or run predictions. For her world's creatures, this was the first time they'd faced such a terrifying ordeal. It was only natural that their mental states needed some recovery.

Bai Ze, however, simply chuckled and shook his head.

He thought about finding an opportunity to discuss with Xia Yinyue. If they could connect their two worlds, he could help her develop more quickly.

Otherwise, at the rate he was advancing, she'd only fall further and further behind.

Better yet, perhaps their worlds could interact deeply, forming alliances or even fostering inter-species exchanges, like hybridization!

Who knows? Maybe, through the power of evolution, they'd create entirely new species.

"Ahem!" Bai Ze cleared his throat and refocused. "Alright, system. Take me to the main world!"

At his command, Bai Ze closed his eyes, and his consciousness returned to the vast expanse of stars.

Looking down, he saw his creatures gradually reappearing in his world.

They were all unharmed, as though they hadn't just participated in a fierce battle.

"We're safe, and even our wounds are gone. Could it be that the Great Father God saved us?"

"Praise the Father God! Sing hymns for the Father God!"

"Great Father God, we revere you!"

[Ding! Faith value +10.]

"Not bad," Bai Ze murmured with satisfaction as he observed the scene below.

He was especially pleased with Hyper Zetton, who had exceeded expectations.

During the simulated battle, Hyper Zetton had broken through to the Commander level at a critical moment. Using its newfound power, it teleported far into the universe, escaping the explosion and surviving.

Now, its energy had stabilized, and its subordinate species had grown stronger.

The tangible power of a Commander-level creature left Bai Ze both excited and eager for more.

[Ding! Major events detected in the host's world. Reporting now.]

"Oh?" Bai Ze raised an eyebrow. Could something significant have occurred while he was away?

[Event 1: Due to the temporary absence of the four extraordinary species, wars erupted on the home planet. While some species rose to prominence, others were defeated. In total, 100 new species have emerged in the world.]

[Event 2: The creatures in your world have generally grown smarter. Many intelligent species have learned to use fire, craft weapons, and even build simple straw huts for shelter.]

[Event 3: A few plants in your world have undergone mutations, gaining rudimentary sentience. However, their intelligence is still too low to be noticeable. For now, they remain a food source for other creatures.]

[Event 4: A hybrid species named Sky Eye has appeared in your world. Though it lacks combat abilities, it possesses extraordinary vision. Concentrating its sight, it can even observe the environment in space.]

[Through its keen observations, the Sky Eye species has detected a massive shadow south of the home planet. This shadow is slowly drifting toward the planet, though the vast darkness of space obscures its details.]

[Report complete.]

"A massive shadow south of the planet?" Bai Ze's expression grew serious.

"Could it be related to what I saw during the last simulation?!"

The scenes of his world being destroyed by gamma-ray bursts were still fresh in Bai Ze's mind, nearly ingrained as a psychological trauma.

And that final shadow, which appeared after the gamma-ray bursts, might be some sort of terrifying entity.

But something didn't add up. The shadow had previously followed the gamma-ray bursts. Why was it now drifting toward his planet without the bursts?

"Could it be targeting me specifically?" Bai Ze speculated.

He quickly dismissed this notion.

"No, that doesn't make sense. If it were after me, it wouldn't be moving so slowly."

"In other words, this thing might be an unconscious entity, simply drifting through space and coincidentally heading in my direction."

Carefully analyzing the information, Bai Ze fixated on one line: "South of the planet."

During the last simulation, the alien voice had mentioned that something valuable lay south of his planet.

Could this shadow be that "valuable" thing?

Previously, the simulation showed it being captured by alien forces, which explained why it hadn't appeared to the south.

After contemplating for a while, Bai Ze decided he couldn't sit idly by.

At the very least, he needed to investigate the nature of this giant shadow. Was it a living creature or something else entirely?

After all, during the simulations, the alien races had shown great interest in the area south of his planet.

"Let's get to work!"

Projecting his form into his world, Bai Ze issued his orders.

"Comet Bug Clan, listen to me!"

At his command, countless Comet Bugs knelt, their leader Hyper Zetton leading the charge. Even the Universal Insect Emperor bowed in reverence.

"In the coming days, I'll divide you into two teams."

"One team, led by the Universal Insect Emperor, will remain on the home planet to construct a civilized empire and build various structures."

"The other team, led by Hyper Zetton, will take to the stars!"

"Your mission is to break through to the south of the planet, where a massive shadow has appeared. It might threaten the safety of our world!"

Bai Ze's commanding voice echoed.

Hearing about a potential threat to the planet, the creatures trembled with fear. Hyper Zetton wasted no time in responding.

It raised its head with utmost reverence. "We obey the Father God's will! We will do everything in our power to explore the cosmos and uncover the truth about the shadow. We vow to protect the home planet at all costs!"

After delegating tasks, Bai Ze instructed the other three extraordinary species to go into seclusion to enhance their strength in preparation for future challenges.

Then, he vanished from the world.

In truth, Bai Ze was well aware that his talent, "Alien Listener," allowed him to eavesdrop on conversations from extraterrestrial races.

If his world held something the aliens described as "valuable," it was only a matter of time before they launched an invasion.

The reason the attacks came so quickly during the two simulations was because his eavesdropping had been detected, triggering retaliation.
