GHOST (POV)
''Huff...huff'',
We needed to run even if that meant showing our weakest side or even our cowardice to the entire world, to the millions of people who are still watching my livestream. Life itself as everyone knows is something too valuable to lose, no amount of money or subscribers can buy me a new one.
It didn't take very long for my body to give in to the extreme cold. The deep snow slowly making my movements feel much more sluggish than it already was yet still the will to survive kept burning within me like a lit candle in a thick haze of darkness, small but mighty.
*SWISSH!
A silent cold swish sound pierced through the fog in front of us. at the face of an impending doom, a sudden burst of adrenaline surged through my entire body giving me enough energy to slightly tilt my head giving me a chance to avoid a fatal blow to the head.
We weren't alone, because it didn't stop there, two more shots followed but they were much slower than the first giving us enough time to avoid the two.
As the last person I in the group I made a swift sidestep to avoid the attack while all the while dashing at the right speed to keep up with the group, the adrenaline still yet to dissipate from my body.
The further we went the attacks stopped and the surrounding fog became much denser than before, the feeling of freedom drawing closer to our hearts yet further away with each passing second.
"Call for help on the stream!'',
One of the leading guys shouted towards me, his voice was shaky carrying an uneasy sense of dread as though we were almost reaching the end of the line.
''Call for help anyone of you online'',
I yelled into my microphone even though I knew of how helpless the situation was, there was no reply from the comment section or any audio playbacks. The viewers were watching that I could see but I feel the fear that was gripping their hearts.
I invested more money into making this stream able to receive audio messages yet now that I need the full benefit of the investment I get nothing instead. All that money and for what? Absolutely nothing.
The entire group paused, we stopped running, the rush of adrenaline I had earlier is completely gone. I am cold, afraid and worst of all weak.
''Diamond formation'',
The captain among the fighters shouts out, since there is a total number of five of us it makes it a much better formation. I am placed in the middle, a tall sturdy man by the name of Carl takes the western side. Another man by the name of Simons who is built like a tank takes the Eastern position, the captain whose name was never mentioned to me takes the southern position meanwhile the only lady among who goes by name of Tilly takes the northern side.
''So, this is it huh''
The captain uttered, his voice and stance showed no fear. As expected of a man of his caliber, a man molded from countless rift raids. I remove the head camera a give out a sigh.
''Humans are indeed inferior'',
A calm voice pierced through the fog to us, the voice was gentle, and it only made it unsettling. The fog instantly cleared off revealing to us a pale looking woman. She wore a pure white kimono as though there were made by using the purest of snow, her beauty was truly out of this world like those fictional records would give to ancient goddess' her hair is silky black and untouched by any snowflake.
A sinister smiled formed on her lips, her calm composure still remained unaffected as she stood still waiting, waiting for us to attack on our own will. The hostility and hunger in her eyes unable to resist the fresh meal in her reach.
''I know this beast, her weakness is fire'',
Tilly shared with us; fire was the solution and also fire was the problem. In this extreme cold who would have enough power to resist such cold.
