Chapter 139 - First Battle, Killing Intent

In front of the Hell Slaughter Arena, the woman in black gauze spoke again:

"To enter the Hell Slaughter Arena, there's a condition: a cup of Bloody Mary. It can be your own or someone else's. How do you plan to pay?"

Upon hearing this, Chen Yuan scanned his surroundings and fixed his gaze on a burly man gnawing on what was clearly a human leg. This was one of the hallmarks of the Slaughter City—acts of depravity were displayed openly and without shame.

Without hesitation, Chen Yuan walked over. The burly man, noticing the interruption, wasn't angry. Instead, he extended the leg toward Chen Yuan, grinning to reveal blood-stained teeth. He said with a laugh:

"What? You want a bite too?"

Chen Yuan shook his head. His mind was still clear, and facing such a creature—one who was human in appearance but monstrous in nature—he felt no hesitation. He spoke coldly:

"I need a cup of Bloody Mary. Your body has plenty to offer."

The burly man was momentarily stunned, then let out a menacing laugh. He tossed the leg aside and grabbed a large blade beside him. His soul power surged, revealing him to be a Soul Emperor. However, in the Slaughter City, raw strength and a good weapon were the keys to survival.

"Haha, you're just a clueless newcomer! Did you know that newcomers are protected for 12 hours? But if you provoke me, I can kill you without consequence. No one will hold me accountable. That leg wasn't fresh anymore, but you—you're fresh meat!"

As he roared, the burly man swung his blade down with full force, his eyes filled with greed. He had initially offered to share his "meal" because Chen Yuan was a newcomer, and he couldn't attack him directly. But now that Chen Yuan had provoked him, he saw an opportunity for a fresh feast.

However, the blade didn't strike Chen Yuan. Instead, it passed right through him, leaving the burly man bewildered.

In the next moment, Chen Yuan moved like lightning. He grabbed the man's wrist and twisted it sharply. The sound of bones breaking echoed as the man howled in pain, dropping his blade.

Chen Yuan didn't stop there. With a swift kick, he sent the falling blade flying into the air, caught it by the hilt, and slashed it across the burly man's throat.

Blood gushed out as the man's expression turned to one of disbelief. He couldn't comprehend how he had been so easily killed by a newcomer.

Chen Yuan's expression remained cold. He understood that in a place like this, any unnecessary emotions would only be a burden.

He dropped the blade and instead lifted the corpse, carrying it over to the woman in black gauze. He said to her:

"Let's go inside. I've got the Bloody Mary—fresh and ready. Make sure to sign me up for a match in the Hell Slaughter Arena."

The woman in black was visibly shaken by Chen Yuan's ruthless efficiency and strange abilities. She realized that the Slaughter City had just welcomed a true force to be reckoned with.

Without another word, she led the way, arranging for Chen Yuan's entry and registration.

Chen Yuan's luck held, as he quickly found himself among ten participants for the day's match. The ten combatants entered the massive arena through separate gates, while the stands erupted with deafening cheers. In a place like the Slaughter City, where violence was glorified, watching battles was a way of life.

Inside the arena, there were no rules, no referees. The moment the participants entered, the fight began. No matter the method, only one person could leave alive—the last one standing.

Chen Yuan glanced at the other nine participants, a mix of men and women. This time, he decided not to rely on his Mirror Dimension skill. The Hell Slaughter Arena was a place to accumulate killing intent, and Chen Yuan intended to do so with his own hands.

He summoned the Seven Kill Sword, his gaze growing colder as he scanned his opponents. The killing was about to begin.

Chen Yuan moved swiftly, his sword techniques fluid and precise. In an instant, he closed the distance to a burly man who had been eyeing him with ill intent. Before the man could react, Chen Yuan thrust his sword forward, piercing the man's chest with ease. The blade tore through the heart, and with a twist, it left a gaping hole in the man's chest, reducing his heart to pulp.

The man was dead before he hit the ground. At the same time, Chen Yuan felt a surge of tangible killing intent transfer from the man's body to his own. This was the accumulated killing intent the man had gathered from his previous victories in the Hell Slaughter Arena.

The arena was like a crucible, a place where killing intent was cultivated and concentrated. The last person standing would absorb all the killing intent, becoming the ultimate victor—a Slaughter God born from endless bloodshed.

Chen Yuan kicked the corpse off his sword and turned his attention to the remaining combatants.

The others were visibly shaken by Chen Yuan's brutality. One of them shouted:

"This guy's too strong! We need to team up and take him down first, or we're all dead!"

The others quickly agreed. In the Hell Slaughter Arena, there were no rules. The only thing that mattered was survival.

Surrounded by eight opponents, Chen Yuan felt no fear—only excitement. In a place where soul skills were useless, his swordsmanship would shine.

He charged forward, his movements a blur. The Seven Kill Sword's unparalleled sharpness made it impossible for anyone to block his strikes. With each swing, weapons and bodies alike were cleaved in two. Armed with such a weapon, Chen Yuan was unstoppable.

In less than ten minutes, he had slaughtered all nine opponents, emerging as the sole survivor. The killing intent he absorbed from them was immense, enough to make anyone who met his gaze tremble in fear. Only the residents of the Slaughter City, who were also protected by their own killing intent, could withstand his aura.

Participants were only allowed one match per day. Having completed his, Chen Yuan had no interest in lingering. As he left the Hell Slaughter Arena, he began searching for a place to stay.

However, he was soon confronted by dozens of skilled fighters from the Slaughter City. His performance had been too outstanding, and no one wanted to face him in the arena. Eliminating him outside the Hell Slaughter Arena seemed like the best option.

Chen Yuan smiled, but there was no warmth in it—only killing intent. He murmured softly:

"You think numbers alone can take me down? Fine. I'll teach you all a lesson today, so I don't have to deal with this nonsense every day."

With that, he summoned the Seven Kill Sword once more. This time, he didn't just rely on his swordsmanship. He merged his body with the sword, his entire being enveloped in sword energy. His soul power transformed into razor-sharp blades, and he charged into the crowd.

The air filled with the flash of sword light and the chill of death. The attackers watched in horror as Chen Yuan became an unstoppable force, a whirlwind of destruction. No one could get close to him, and with every swing of his sword, multiple opponents fell, their bodies torn apart. Limbs and entrails littered the ground.

By the end of the battle, Chen Yuan had made a name for himself. He was now known as the "Devil," a title that struck fear into the hearts of all who heard it.
