"Do you know where the Emerald Star Grass is?"
Angel pointed ahead and said, "I heard from the villagers that the Emerald Star Grass grows on the cliff walls not far from here. But that's the nest of the Terror Birds—it's very difficult to get close!"
"Since we know the location, let's go!"
"Are you really going? The Terror Birds are extremely vicious, and they live in flocks—it's very dangerous!" Angel hesitated for a moment.
"Don't worry, mere beasts are nothing to me. Let's go!" Without another word, Goku grabbed Angel's hand and headed deep into the forest.
Along the way, they encountered many ferocious monsters, but Goku defeated each one effortlessly with a single move. Angel's eyes sparkled with admiration as she looked at him. Even the strongest warrior of her tribe had to struggle to defeat those creatures, yet to Goku, they were nothing more than toys. How could she not admire such strength?
After about twenty minutes of travel, they finally reached a steep cliff. The so-called Terror Birds looked like pterosaurs, except they were three to four times larger, with wrinkled skin and sharp, tiny teeth filling their beaks, making them look both disgusting and terrifying.
"Goku, look! The Emerald Star Grass!" Angel excitedly pointed at a patch of grass growing on the cliffside.
"Wait here. I'll be back in a second." Goku's figure flashed, and in an instant, he was next to the Emerald Star Grass. Plucking it from the cliffside, he examined it closely. "So, this is the Emerald Star Grass? The flower really does look like a star!"
"Oooh~~!"
"Goku, watch out!"
Suddenly, a Terror Bird swooped down at Goku at high speed, its sharp beak aiming straight for his eye. Not far from him, there was a nest with a few featherless baby Terror Birds inside.
Seeing the younglings, Goku frowned slightly. With a casual backhand slap, he sent the attacking Terror Bird crashing into the cliff wall, where it lay motionless.
"I'll let you off the hook for the sake of your babies." Goku turned to leave, but the injured bird's shriek had already attracted a massive flock. In an instant, over a hundred Terror Birds swooped down, surrounding him.
"Goku, be careful!" Angel shouted anxiously from a distance.
"Tch, this is getting annoying." Goku stored the Emerald Star Grass inside his spatial ring, then let out a powerful shout. A surge of energy rippled outward in all directions, sending the Terror Birds plummeting from the sky into the depths of the canyon.
"Amazing…! Even Zamu wouldn't stand a chance against Goku!" Angel's eyes were filled with adoration as she gazed at him.
Goku reappeared beside Angel in a flash, handing her the Emerald Star Grass. "Here, this is what you needed, right? Keep it safe. Where's your home? I'll take you back."
"It's in that direction…"
Goku nodded, picked her up, and took off into the sky, flying toward her home.
Angel's home was in a small town called Zayrat. The inhabitants of the planet Yardrat lived in independent tribes rather than under a centralized government. Zayrat Town was just one of many small settlements, with a population of around a thousand.
Her house was on a quiet street on the western side of town—an ordinary home with a father, a mother, and an elderly grandfather.
Angel's father was a strong, middle-aged man, but his back was covered in deep claw wounds, his flesh torn apart, and even his ribs were fractured. He lay in bed, unable to move.
When Goku saw him, he was momentarily surprised. Though the man seemed weak in Goku's perception, he could tell that he was capable of controlling his battle power freely—his strength was far from ordinary. If someone strong enough to leave such severe injuries on him existed, then their power must exceed 100,000.
Angel's mother was an ordinary woman with decent looks, . Her grandfather, on the other hand, looked like an ordinary old man, but Goku could sense that his strength surpassed that of his injured son.
"I never expected an alien guest to visit our home—what an honor!" Angel's grandfather, Moren, warmly welcomed Goku and invited him to sit. Meanwhile, Angel and her mother had already begun preparing medicine.
"You're too kind," Goku replied. "But more importantly, what kind of beast injured Uncle Moxen so badly?"
Moren sighed. "To tell you the truth, Moxen wasn't injured while hunting—he was attacked by a giant gorilla in the Western Forest. That vicious beast devours anyone it sees. Several tribes have already suffered losses, so dozens of them put out a bounty: 10,000 zeni for anyone who can kill the gorilla. That amount of money would be enough for our family to live comfortably for a lifetime. So, Moxen, confident in his strength, decided to take on the challenge… But he never expected…"
[T/N: look like zeni is universal currency in dragon Ball universe]
Moren shook his head in regret. "If Zamu, our town's strongest warrior, hadn't arrived in time to save him, he would've died on the spot. But even Zamu was seriously injured and is still recovering… That's why Angel had to sneak off to Dabra Forest to find the Emerald Star Grass."
"A giant gorilla? How big is it? And how strong?" Goku's interest was piqued.
"It's at least ten meters tall, incredibly powerful. With a single punch, it can level an entire mountain!"
Boom… boom… boom…!
Suddenly, a series of heavy footsteps shook the ground. Outside, panicked screams filled the air.
Moren's expression changed drastically. "No… This sound… It's the giant gorilla! It's coming straight for our town! Goku, hurry and get Angel and the others—we need to evacuate immediately!"
"No need to panic. I'll go check it out." Goku's figure blurred as he dashed outside.
"Wait, Goku, come back—!" Moren called out anxiously.
As Goku stepped outside, he saw townspeople fleeing in all directions. Looking toward the outskirts, his eyes widened.
"Whoa! That's not just any gorilla—it's a freaking King Kong!"
The massive, gray-furred gorilla stood towering over the town, exuding a battle power of at least 300,000.
A group of warriors was already engaged in battle with the beast, but their attacks couldn't even scratch it. Instead, the gorilla swatted them away like flies, effortlessly crushing them.
However, one warrior caught Goku's attention—a young man moving rapidly through the battlefield. He pressed two fingers to his forehead, using Instant Transmission to teleport across the battlefield, rescuing his injured comrades from the monster's grasp.
"Whoa! That's Instant Transmission! Haha! I finally get to see it in action on this planet! But… his battle power is only around 100,000. He doesn't stand a chance against that thing!"
Just as Goku predicted, the warrior exhausted himself trying to fight and was eventually swatted into the ground, creating a massive crater. The gorilla wasn't done yet—it lifted its foot to stomp him into the earth. Then, opening its mouth, it fired a powerful energy beam toward the town.
"Ahh! Help!"
"It's over! Our town is doomed!"
The townspeople were overcome with despair.
"Damn, this thing is brutal," Goku muttered. Then, with a powerful shout, he released a massive burst of energy. In a flash, he intercepted the energy beam and casually swatted it into space, where it vanished.
The entire town fell silent.
"He… he deflected the monster's attack with just one hand?!"
From a distance, Moren was stunned.
"I told you! Goku is really strong!" Angel beamed with admiration.
"Roarrrr!"
The gorilla pounded its chest and swung its massive arm at Goku.
"You wanna test strength with me? You're way out of your league!" Goku grabbed the gorilla's hand, powered up, and flipped the beast over, repeatedly slamming it into the ground. The townspeople watched in shock as the once-unstoppable monster was mercilessly beaten.
After a few moments, the ground was cratered, and the gorilla lay motionless, bleeding from every orifice. Goku then hurled it into the sky and finished it off with a Kamehameha, reducing it to dust.
Standing at the edge of a massive crater, Goku looked down at the young man lying beneath the deep imprint of the giant gorilla's foot. He couldn't help but sigh.
"Wow… He's been stomped into the ground and is barely recognizable, yet he's still alive? His vitality is seriously impressive!"
Just as he finished speaking, a sudden burst of intense light radiated from the young man's body. The light split into two, and in the next moment—there were now two of him!
Goku's eyes widened in surprise. "Wait… Is this some kind of fusion technique?"
After thinking for a moment, he pulled out two Senzu Beans and handed one to each of them.
"Here, eat this quickly, or you're not gonna make it."
The two hesitated for a moment but then forced themselves to swallow the beans. Within seconds, their injuries vanished completely, and their energy was fully restored. They were back to full strength as if nothing had happened.
"This… What is this?! The wounds that should've taken weeks to heal… gone in an instant?! I thought I was on the verge of death!" One of them stared at his now fully recovered body in shock.
Goku crossed his arms and frowned. "Hey, I just gave you guys one of the rarest things I own, and you don't even say thank you? That's pretty rude, don't you think?"
"A-Ah! I'm so sorry! We were just too shocked…!" The young man quickly bowed in apology. "I'm Zamu, and he's Risha. Thank you so much for saving our lives! May I ask for our savior's name?"
