Chapter 183 - Gabite: Did You Train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber?

[This... a literal angel in white!]

[There are truly selfless Pokémon like this in the world? I'm moved!]

[Anyone selling Happiny eggs? Top dollar offered! No particular reason, just want to taste what happiness feels like!]

[If they only like kind-hearted people, can I use owning a Chansey as a dating criteria?]

[You could, but the real question is: even if you like them, would they like you?]

[True. Being kind doesn't mean they're stupid.]

[Ouch, bro. That hits hard.]

Looking at the Blissey before him, Su Feng began forming a bold idea. Soon, he would establish Pokémon Centers across the nation, each requiring Chansey or Blissey staff. While some trainers might already have Chansey partners for Nurse Joys to recruit, the numbers would never suffice for a country as vast as Dragon Nation.

If possible, Su Feng wanted to recruit—or "convince"—several Blissey and Chansey to return with him as lead physicians. The Blissey before him, likely the leader or high-ranking member of her clan, would be ideal to persuade.

However, glancing at the intimidating Dragonite behind him, Su Feng swallowed his words. Poaching under a leader's watch felt wrong, especially after the dragons' hospitality. Plus, he feared angering Dragonite might trap him in Dragon Valley...

"Ahem, never mind. Let's go," Su Feng coughed, rising from the stone steps.

Xiaodi pouted—she'd wanted to explore the neighboring forest—but reluctantly agreed, not wanting to worry her sister.

"Draaah. (Follow me,)" Dragonite flapped his tiny wings, generating a cyclone that lifted him effortlessly toward the distant canyon. Remarkably, the winds left Su Feng and the others untouched, mere breezes brushing their faces.

[Serious question: How do those dinky wings lift that chunky body?]

[Hard to believe, but they clearly work!]

[The wing flaps aren't even rapid! This defies physics!]

[How many times must we say it? Stop applying old science to magical Pokémon!]

Addressing the chat, Su Feng explained: "Dragonite's wings aid flight, but their true speed comes from Flying-type energy. As Dragon/Flying-types, they master both elements. A Dragonite's strength shows in flight control—like how the chief here hovers smoothly instead of zooming. That's true skill."

The subtle compliment earned an approving glance from Dragonite. This human gets it.

Before leaving, Su Feng noticed Gabite still slumped dejectedly. The young dragon showed rare talent, rivaling even Blaziken's natural growth. Without human help, Blaziken might not have surpassed him.

Jogging over, Su Feng crouched beside Gabite: "Don't feel bad. Blaziken only grew this strong through rigorous training. You're young—you can still overtake him."

Gabite blinked: "Roor? (Training?)"

"Exactly. Hard work and... unique circumstances shaped him," Su Feng said, smiling at memories of Torchic clumsily headbutting trees.

Gabite perked up: "Roor! (So he had years of resources and guidance?)"

"Actually..." Su Feng counted mentally. "I met him as a Torchic eight months ago."

Gabite nearly tripped: "ROOOOR!? (EIGHT MONTHS!? FROM TORCHIC TO THIS!?)"

Su Feng nodded: "Yep. Eight months total."

Gabite: "...Roor. (...)
