The golden beam of the Special Beam Cannon screamed through the air, seconds away from piercing both Goku and Raditz.
"GOODBYE, RADITZ!!" Piccolo shouted.
But in the blink of an eye—
BOOM!
The beam collided with something mid-air—a palm glowing with gentle yet overwhelming energy.
Rayuga had descended.
His snow-white hair fluttered, his hand extended lazily as if batting away a breeze. The Special Beam Cannon shattered into golden sparks that faded harmlessly into the wind.
Everyone watching was stunned.
"What just…?" Krillin gasped.
"He stopped it? With just his hand?" Tien's voice trembled.
Bulma clutched Chichi's arm. "He saved Goku…"
Even Akiko exhaled in deep relief, hugging Gohan tighter. "Thank you… Rayuga."
Beside her, Chichi, who never liked showing emotion openly, silently leaned in and gave Akiko a soft hug. "That idiot… always reckless," she muttered, eyes on Goku.
On the battlefield, Piccolo's jaw clenched. "He… blocked my strongest technique like it was nothing…"
Goku, blinking in surprise, looked up as the dust settled. "R-Rayuga?"
Rayuga floated down with a calm smirk on his face, hands in his pockets. His crystalline blue eyes scanned the field before falling on Goku.
"Oi," Rayuga said casually. "Did you forget I existed or something?"
Goku scratched his head and gave an awkward chuckle. "Heh… yeah, guess I got caught up in the moment…"
Piccolo looked away, feeling the sting of inferiority. That guy… he's not even trying…
Rayuga turned slightly toward Raditz, who was now backing away, visibly shaken. His scouter blinked wildly. "Power level… unreadable?!"
"You came to this planet like you were the king of the jungle," Rayuga said calmly, "but you're not even a cub compared to me."
Raditz snarled, furious. "You… think you can look down on me?!"
With a roar, he charged at Rayuga, all his energy poured into his punch—his final desperate assault.
But as he launched his fist—
Rayuga moved.
Or rather, he barely did.
He slightly leaned forward and flicked his finger toward Raditz's forehead.
BOOM!
The shockwave from that simple flick sent Raditz flying back hundreds of meters, crashing through boulders, trees, and finally slamming into the mountainside—unconscious, defeated instantly.
Everyone was speechless.
"...A single move," Yamcha whispered.
"Not even a real attack," Tien added, sweat rolling down his temple.
Even Piccolo, usually calm and composed, was wide-eyed. "This guy… what kind of monster is he?"
Rayuga turned his head slightly, speaking just loud enough for all of them to hear. "Next time, don't risk your lives trying to act cool. If you've got a strong ally around, use them."
He turned back toward Goku.
"You still wanna fight every battle alone?"
Goku gave a sheepish grin. "Guess I forgot again… you're on our side."
Rayuga smirked. "Just don't make a habit of it."
From the cliff, Akiko bowed her head slightly in gratitude, eyes warm. "You saved him… thank you, Rayuga."
Chichi, watching silently beside her, let out a sigh and smiled just faintly.
Meanwhile, all the other Z-Fighters looked at one another, sharing a single thought—They had no idea who Rayuga really was… but he just made it very clear: he was far beyond any of them.
The battlefield had gone eerily quiet.
Raditz lay unconscious against the cracked mountain wall, his armor shattered, blood at the corner of his mouth. The wind rustled the trees gently, but no one moved—not even the Z-Fighters standing on the cliffs above.
Rayuga, standing tall in the crater, eyes calm and sharp, slowly walked toward the fallen Saiyan warrior.
Suddenly, Raditz coughed and stirred. Goku instinctively stepped forward, but Rayuga raised his hand. "Let him speak."
Raditz gritted his teeth and looked up at Rayuga with pure frustration. "You… you'll all die anyway…"
Rayuga tilted his head. "Explain."
Everyone listened closely as Raditz, breathing heavily, finally spoke.
"Two more… Saiyans," he growled. "Stronger than me. Much stronger. When they hear I'm dead… they'll come."
He glared at Goku and Piccolo. "They'll destroy this planet. You insects don't stand a chance. You have one year—then your doom will come."
A heavy silence followed. The Z-Fighters, hearing every word, felt the chill of the truth. Even Piccolo's face darkened.
"So, the real monsters are yet to arrive…" Yamcha whispered.
Bulma, holding onto Chichi's arm, trembled slightly. Akiko eyes narrowed in protective thought toward Gohan, while Chichi's looked concerned but trusted in Rayuga.
Rayuga didn't look shaken at all. In fact, he smiled.
"Good," he said softly. "Let them come."
Raditz's eyes widened. "What…?"
Rayuga turned and looked at everyone around. "You heard him. One year. So now you have a choice—train hard or die."
He then glanced at Goku. "And as for you… you're going to train under King Kai."
Goku blinked. "King Kai? Who's that?"
Rayuga's voice remained calm. "He's one of the best martial arts masters in the universe. I visited his place not long ago. If you want a chance to beat the coming Saiyans, you'll need to train under him."
Piccolo narrowed his eyes. "Wait, how is that possible? He's dead."
Rayuga smirked. "And Goku will be too. Temporarily."
Everyone looked shocked.
Goku rubbed his head. "You're saying I should let myself die... just to train?"
Rayuga nodded. "It's the fastest way. And I'll make sure you get there."
Raditz tried to speak again, but Rayuga walked toward him, raising his hand. His voice lowered.
"You've said enough."
Raditz's eyes widened with fear, and in a single burst of violet ki, Rayuga blasted through him—clean, quick, and painless. Raditz's body vanished in the smoke.
Everyone gasped.
Rayuga turned back around, eyes serious now.
"They won't be satisfied with just killing. They'll turn this planet to dust."
Krillin stuttered. "W-We can't fight something stronger than that guy…"
Rayuga met his eyes. "Then become stronger. You all have one year. Train like your lives depend on it—because they do."
He then looked up at the clear sky, his expression unreadable.
"Vegeta… Nappa… so, we're finally going off-script," he thought. "Let's see how strong you really are."
From the cliffs, Goku looked at his hands. "King Kai, huh? Alright. I'll do it."
Rayuga gave him a slight nod. "Good. I'll handle the rest."
Akiko walked over with Gohan. Goku smiled at her. She was worried, but proud. "You better come back stronger," she whispered.
"I promise," Goku replied, touching his forehead to hers.
Meanwhile, Chichi and Bulma walked up to Rayuga quietly, watching him with admiration—though Bulma was the first to speak.
"You knew this was coming?"
Rayuga looked at them, his voice softer now. "I always knew. But now... you do too."
They said nothing more—but the look in their eyes said it all.
As the sun began to set behind the trees of Mount Paozu, the earth remained still—silent and waiting.
But above them all, Rayuga stood like a guardian, preparing for the true war to come.
