Chapter 177 - Odin Is Immortal, Too Prodigal!

Hello everyone, I am back and very sorry for missing a few days I was away for the Easter Holidays and I am sorry for that. But I am back now and I am gonna start with the 2 chapters per day schedule again. Thank you everyone who supported me!.

The one who arrived was Hela.

With the help of Loki's magic, she successfully made her way to New York to find the so-called God of Magic that Loki had spoken of.

According to Loki, the greatest reason behind his and Thor's immense power was their connection to the God of Magic's magic net. Through it, they had gained indescribable strength—so vast that it even surpassed Odin's.

Hela didn't believe it.

Just a mere God of Magic in Asgard?

Not even royalty.

Strictly speaking, he wasn't even a true member of the Aesir pantheon.

In her mind, at best, he was just a combat hero with decent magical abilities—someone blessed by Odin, granted the title of the new God of Magic, and given the status of a god.

But outsiders were still outsiders.

The true might of the Asgardian gods lay in the blood of the God King.

The rest of the gods? Just mere weaklings.

Look at the Valkyries—they were gods too. But under her command, they fell like insects.

The mighty Valkyrie army had been completely wiped out during the war to suppress her.

So why should she believe that Thor and Loki owed their power to the so-called God of Magic?

Even more absurd was the claim that this entire succession battle was, in essence, a struggle for authority over the magic net.

And when she heard that even Odin—along with all of Asgard—was using the magic net, she couldn't help but laugh on the spot.

It was mockery.

This was what she had to say:

"We used to wield absolute power over the universe.

Our status was unmatched.

Odin and I drowned civilizations in blood and tears.

We slaughtered countless beings, including the people of great kingdoms and even their gods.

Do you think Asgard obtained its current status through kindness?

Where do you think the gold, the art, and Odin's treasury came from?

If not for the day he suddenly decided to become a 'benevolent king' and implement 'merciful rule,'

If not for his ruthless betrayal—robbing me of my victories and sealing me away,

The Nine Realms, and even the farthest reaches of the stars, would still be under our dominion.

We were the most powerful gods!

How could he now be relying on some so-called magic net to obtain magic and strength?"

Hela refused to believe it.

Odin was the God of Magic.

No one knew the depths of the magic he had mastered.

How could such a powerful being stoop to the pathetic reliance Loki described?

Yet, in Loki's words, the new God of Magic had become an invincible deity—one superior to the King of Gods and the Nine Realms themselves.

Hela scoffed.

The biggest joke of all time.

Not even a funny one.

To her, Luke was lying.

"I can understand your anger," Loki said.

"After all, you are my sister.

"In terms of rights and inheritance, you too should have a claim to the throne.

"But believe me, others might accept your rule, but Odin and Thor never will.

"Odin has said it countless times: to be king, one must be kind.

"With the two of them bound together, wielding the power of the magic net, they are far beyond what you understand.

"Only through the magic net can we take our revenge and prove that the throne does not belong to Thor—it belongs to you."

Hela smiled coldly.

"I'm only seeking out this 'God of Magic' to acquire power."

Loki saw her skepticism but didn't bother to explain further.

He simply guided her to meet the God of Magic. If she could connect to the magic net, she would be able to borrow some power, restore her injuries, and regain her strength.

From there, she could take things further—absorbing more magic and then storming back to Asgard.

Loki could tell that Hela was arrogant—extremely conceited.

Even more so than Thor.

In fact, according to Hela, Odin himself had once been the same way.

They deserved their power.

They were entitled to it.

The Nine Realms had surrendered one after another.

Asgard's rule had been built upon blood and conquest.

This realization filled Loki with resentment.

Hela was just like him.

For Asgard, he had been willing to do whatever it took—even considered destroying Jotunheim to prove his absolute loyalty.

At the same time, it would have cemented his prestige and won the approval of the Asgardian people.

But Thor and Odin had dismissed his idea, calling it cruel and unthinkable.

Yet the Odin of old had been far crueler than Loki could ever dream.

As the portal opened, Loki gave one last warning.

"My sister, I sincerely advise you—do not offend him. He is terrifyingly powerful."

"Powerful?" Hela smirked. "Even better. Once I become queen, I will need an executioner. Perhaps he will be suitable."

She stepped into the portal.

Without hesitation, she kicked open the door and barged into the territory of the God of Magic.

Their eyes met.

Several women were in the room.

Hela frowned. "So, our God of Magic enjoys such… pleasures."

"Aaron."

Aaron raised his hand, stopping Dark Phoenix and Wanda, who were about to attack.

He eyed Hela with scrutiny.

She, in turn, did not mind his gaze—she was sizing him up as well.

"You're the first Asgardian to call me by name since I returned. Impressive."

"Loki sent you? For the magic net?"

"Yes, and no."

Hela didn't hide her intentions. "Since you know who I am, you should also know why I'm here.

"I want to reclaim the power that was taken from me.

"I need to restore my strength.

"And you are the candidate I've chosen."

"In Asgard, every great king has an executioner. I was once Odin's executioner.

"If you accept, I will make you my new executioner—my most trusted enforcer."

Aaron shrugged. "Emmm… why would I need that?"

"Oh, and by the way, you're the first person to break down my door."

"It's just a door. I'll compensate you with one made of gold," Hela said indifferently. "And if you serve me, I can satisfy your… little hobbies."

Aaron raised an eyebrow. "Hobbies?"

"I will gather beauties for you. Not just Midgardians—not just Asgardians—but women from all the races I conquer.

"How does that sound?"

Hela smiled, radiating confidence.

She didn't care about such things.

Even as a woman herself.

To her, the strong deserved privileges.

As her enforcer, her executioner, he would be entitled to such rewards.

Aaron sighed. "That's it? I thought you had something better to offer."

At that moment, Dark Phoenix and Sif had silently stepped closer, glaring at Hela.

Aaron could feel their irritation.

Hela had uttered such outrageous words…

Right in front of them.

Daisy, meanwhile, was trembling, gripping Jane's sleeve. "Do you feel that pressure?"

Jane nodded. "They're all gods! Maybe we should—"

"Leave?" Daisy shook her head frantically. "No way! I need to see this!"

Hela scoffed. "You seem dissatisfied."

"What do you want? Power? If you prove your worth, I'll let you command Asgard's Great Hall."

Aaron shook his head.

Did she seriously think she had a chance to rule Asgard?

Even if she did return, what army would she have left?

She'd probably slaughter them all herself.

Even the undead army wouldn't get to make an appearance.

"Fine," he said. "If you want access to the magic net, sign this. But don't expect anything else."

He tossed her a contract.

Hela glanced over it.

It was exactly as Loki had described.

It looked like a scam… but she still didn't believe it was real.

Under normal circumstances, she would never sign.

But now, for power—out of pure confidence—she decided to try.

She signed her name.

And in that moment, she felt it.

The magic net.

It was real.

"The quality of the magic power is incredibly high... It can heal my injuries and allow me to unleash my true strength."

"But it's still not enough..."

"According to Loki, the higher one's authority within the magic net, the greater the magic power they can access."

"If I want to increase my authority, I can either contribute magic power or trade valuable treasures."

But what could Hela offer?

Divine power? She had none.

Treasures? She had none.

And Aaron wasn't interested in any of the so-called rewards she could offer.

So...

"Since you refuse to be my executioner, let's strike another deal."

"As long as you increase my authority or grant me additional magic power,"

"When I reclaim Asgard, I can offer you the Space Gem. It holds immense power."

"You mean this?"

Aaron casually pulled out the Space Gem and twirled it between his fingers.

"...Fine. Then we can negotiate another trade item—perhaps the Casket of Ancient Winters. I heard from Loki that Laufey is dead. I—"

"No need," Aaron interrupted. "The Casket of Ancient Winters is already in my possession. Loki gave it to me."

Hela fell silent for a moment.

"...The Eternal Fire should interest you, right? With it, I can resurrect my army, and—"

"If you're referring to Surtur's Eternal Flame, Odin already gave it to me as a reward for eradicating the Titan Flame Clan."

ODIN, THAT OLD BASTARD!!!

What a wasteful fool!

Why isn't he dead yet?!
