"Will, who was that girl just now?" Ophelia asked curiously, her voice light but laced with a sharp intuition that came from being raised in a pack.

"Someone insignificant," Waldo replied coolly, his tone clipped.

Ophelia rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Insignificant… then why the scowl on your face?"

"I wasn't scowling," Waldo said flatly, though the glint in his wolfish eyes told a different story.

Ophelia chuckled and reached up to pinch his chiseled face twice, teasing, "Not cute at all. Just like Gustave."

Waldo gave a low grunt.

Ophelia didn't press further about Regina. In their pack, taught strictly under Gustave's rule, personal matters were handled by the wolves themselves—no meddling, no interference. That was the law. Of course, she was always the exception.
