"You should not get used to it. I would only prepare meals on special dates," I said, shooing her off. Sure, this is the best food I've ever eaten too, but if this girl blabbers about it, the royal cooks of Asgard would be jobless. It's not that I can't do it with ease—it's that I care about my people too much.
"With you, my love, every time is special, and every day is a date," she said in an exaggerated tone, definitely flattering me.
"You'd have to do much more than that to make me prepare food every day." I shrugged, long immune to her advances.
[Would be cool if your face wasn't half red from the blush, master.]
'It's because the food was too spicy.'
[Liar.]
I would ignore that.
"What if I say please?" Freyja asked, striking a cute pose.
"It can be considered then… but only sometimes. Not often."
Yeah, I agreed—but only occasionally. Something's only special when it's rare. If I go around creating every meal, it would lose its value. Even if I can't really bring myself to reject Freyja, I know where to draw the line for maximum benefits. Now I can ask for a prize every time she asks me to create food for her.
Once we were done with lunch, I started to show her around the castle and the underground city.
"So, how long are we staying here for you to make so many preparations?" Freyja asked. Foolish girl probably thought we'd stay here for a long time...
"Huh… staying here? Why would we do that? We leave after exploring Babylon. Besides, I'm expecting some people..." I said, as if she'd asked something foolish.
"We aren't? Did you create this castle and an underground city just for us to have a date in?" she asked, perplexed.
"Duh… obviously. Only the best for my beautiful fiancée." I smiled, patting her head.
"You're really raising the standards here… Maybe I'll start expecting you to create new planets for every date in the future."
"Maybe I will create a new world every time we date. After all, like I said—only the best for my love." I pulled her into a hug, the scent of her beautiful hair drifting into my nose.
"Sheesh… yes, sugar daddy." She giggled.
"Anyways, you said you were expecting some people. Who are they?" Freyja asked.
"You'll see. They'll come to us soon enough, I guess… Let's go to Babylon again. After that, we leave for Harappa," I said, dismissing her question.
"What's Harappa?"
"Another civilization. Bit east from here."
"Oh, okay."
"Let's go," I said, extending my hand and using the door spell, leading us back to the town of Babylon.
"So, what do we try this time around?" she asked.
"Relax your mind. We're not here for any particular reason—just to tour and relax. I'll be back on the battlefield soon after this, so let's make the most of our time together here on Midgard," I told her.
Sometimes, it's better to just do nothing.
"Yup… we should stay here on Midgard for a few years then…" she said, thinking out loud.
"Hahaha… Father would definitely be pissed if I did that. So let's not. We can go on another vacation once I return again—maybe to Alfheim. I've always wanted to go there. They say they make the best wine, and the food's good too. But sadly, it's mostly vegetarian…"
Not like I wouldn't rather spend time with Freyja than on a military camp—but I can't.
"Hmm… I guess I'll just spend time with Hela until then. I get really bored when you're not around… Oh yeah, and I miss you a lot too..." she said, looking a bit deflated.
"Sadly, I think Hela too will accompany me in the next war. Father's been thinking of sending her to fight, and with me around, she'll be safe," I explained.
"At least mother-in-law's here… I guess..."
Now she looked really sad, but soon put on a determined expression and said,
"Magnar, train me too. I want to become strong—strong enough to accompany you in your fights and not just wait for you while you battle alone..."
I smiled hearing that.
"Sure, my love… but don't expect me to go easy on you just because I love you. In fact, I'll be extra strict—teaching you to the best of my capabilities. But don't worry—using my divinity, I've created a new move that'll aid you in learning. So you just need to thank me properly, and I'll do my best." I smirked at the last part.
"Hmph, you'll get a beautiful lady to accompany you even during battles, and you still want more? Consider my presence the gift, you fool," Freyja said, hands on her waist.
"Sure, sure… stingy woman. Let's focus on the tour for now." I shrugged.
The tour lasted a few hours, then I led Freyja outside the town gates, a bit away from the settlement.
"Why are we here?" Freyja asked, puzzled.
"We are waiting."
"Waiting? For whom?" she asked.
Just as she said that, I sensed something. Turning back, I threw a heavy punch—and the guy who was planning to attack us was sent flying far away, destroying a large part of the forest.
This guy was Ikaris—an Eternal. A servant of the Celestials.
We share some unpleasant history...
Now, if a Celestial was here, that'd be worrying…
But just an Eternal?
Bro is delusional.
"Them. We're waiting for them," I said to Freyja, pointing to the unconscious Ikaris lying in a crater in a distant mountain.
"Them? Did our God of Wisdom lose his brain? That's a single guy. You should use him, not them. Hahh… even basic grammar needs to be taught to you...What would mother think...All that effort in teaching you....completely wasted." Freyja said with mock exasperation.
"...."
"There are more people with him. Should arrive soon..."
