Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Blue Rose

 ---------------------------------

The soft light of dawn filtered through the curtains of Meliodas' private chambers, casting a warm glow over the room. Meliodas stirred, his purple eyes fluttering open as he took in the sight of Makima nestled between his arms, her breathing steady and calm.

Her presence was comforting, starkly contrasting the sharp calculating demeanor she usually displayed. Over the past few days, their relationship had shifted subtly, their interactions more intimate and bold.

Makima still treated him with the reverence of a Supreme Being, a god, but Meliodas had begun to see her as more than just a loyal subordinate. She was someone he could trust, someone who understood him in ways others didn't.

As he shifted slightly, Makima's eyes fluttered open, her golden gaze meeting his. She blinked slowly, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Good morning, Meliodas-sama." she said, her voice soft but composed, as always.

"Morning," he replied, his voice still rough with sleep. He stretched slightly, his movements causing her to shift closer to him. "Sleep well?"

"Well enough." she answered, sitting up slightly, revealing her beautiful body and brushing a strand of hair from her face. "What are your plans for today?"

Meliodas leaned back against the headboard, his arms resting behind his head. "Not much. I thought I'd watch how things are going around the facility. I haven't had the chance to look around much since we got here."

Makima nodded, her sharp eyes studying him. "Then allow me to show you around. The place is still being reconstructed to suit your tastes, but it's coming along nicely."

Meliodas smirked. "I'd appreciate that. Let's get dressed and head out."

After a few more moments of comfortable silence, we both got out of bed and got dressed. I opted for a simple black outfit, a long-sleeved tunic with fitted pants that matched my purple eyes, while Makima, as always, looked effortlessly elegant in her usual attire.

Once ready, we stepped outside, the cool morning air meeting us as we walked toward the training grounds. I wanted to personally see how Brain was progressing under Yoriichi's guidance.

The Obsidian Chains headquarters was a sprawling complex, its halls bustling with activity even at this early hour.

Workers moved about, carrying materials and tools as they worked on the renovations, recognizing the new boss, they bowed their heads as they passed by Meliodas.

Meliodas observed it all with a keen eye, noting the efficiency and order that Makima had instilled in the place. She walked beside him, her presence commanding yet subtly deferential to him.

As they approached the training grounds, the sound of clashing blades and the rhythmic breathing of a swordsman reached their ears. Meliodas and Makima stepped into the open area to find Brain and Yoriichi amid a sparring session.

Brain's movements were sharp and precise, a testament to the progress he had made under Yoriichi's guidance. Yoriichi, as always, was a picture of calm mastery, his every move fluid and effortless.

Both men paused briefly upon noticing Meliodas and Makima, acknowledging their presence with respectful nods. "Good morning my lord." Yoriichi said.

"Good morning Melidoas-sama." Followed by Brain.

Meliodas waved a hand dismissively. "Don't mind us. Carry on."

He and Makima made their way to a nearby bench, where Meliodas sat down, stretching his legs out comfortably. Makima remained standing at first, but Meliodas patted the spot next to him. "Sit," he said, his tone casual but firm.

Makima hesitated for a moment before sitting down, her shoulder brushing against his. The contact was subtle, but comforting for both.

Meliodas opened his system interface, his eyes scanning the screen. A notification caught his attention, he had completed a mission.

[Congratulations on completing the mission: Become rich]

[Reward: B-rank summon]

He smirked to himself. 'Rich, huh? I supposed I am rich, considering the wealth the Obsidian Chains had already amassed in such a short time.'

Without hesitation, he opened the reward. A shimmering light appeared in front of him, drawing the attention of everyone on the training grounds. Brain and Yoriichi paused their sparring, their eyes narrowing in curiosity.

Not that I cared.

If Brain ever decided to leak anything about my abilities, I'd simply erase his memories or kill him. Simple. Not that I expected him to betray me, he wasn't that kind of person.

Makima's gaze sharpened, her analytical mind already working to process what was happening.

The light coalesced into the form of a young woman. She had short, dark hair and wore a simple, modern outfit that contrasted sharply with the medieval setting of the Obsidian Chains facility.

Her eyes were calm and observant, and she carried an air of quiet confidence.

[Character: Shoko Leiri]

[Rank: B-rank]

[Anime: Jujutsu kaisen]

This was Shoko Leiri, a healer from Jujutsu Kaisen.

Meliodas raised an eyebrow, a pleased smile spreading across his face. "This is my second summon from jujutsu kaisen, but she's a healer so it's perfectwe are lacking in that department, and her abilities would undoubtedly prove invaluable."

Shoko blinked, taking in her surroundings with a calm demeanor. Her eyes eventually settled on Meliodas then she proceeded to bow down, he was still seated on the bench, his purple eyes gleaming with interest.

"Welcome," Meliodas said, his voice smooth and confident. "I'm Meliodas, the one who summoned you here. This is Makima." He gestured to the woman beside him, who gave Shoko a polite nod.

"Makima will fill you in on your duties," Meliodas continued. "But for now, know that your skills as a healer are greatly needed here. You'll be well taken care of, as long as you prove useful." Meliodas took a moment to breathe then continued.

"This world works with healing and stamina potions, maybe even healing magic, but with your abilities, we won't even need that anymore."

Shoko tilted her head slightly, and a smile formed on her face. "I see. Well, I suppose I'll do what I can, but I'm glad I will be useful to your purpose, my lord." Her voice was calm and measured, betraying no hint of surprise or discomfort at her sudden summoning.

Makima stood, her sharp eyes studying Shoko. "Follow me. I'll explain everything you need to know."

As Makima led Shoko away, Meliodas leaned back on the bench, a satisfied smirk on his face. 'I don't know if there are healers in the overlord world, I did not read the novel, I only saw the anime, but I'm pretty sure I didn't pick every detail... Either way, I'm going to need Shoko a lot.'

Brain and Yoriichi resumed their training, though Brain couldn't help but glance in Meliodas' direction, his mind racing with questions. 'What was that light? That woman just appeared out of nowhere... And what kind of power does Meliodas-sama truly wield?' But he quickly pushed those thoughts aside, focusing on his training.

He knew better than to pry into matters that didn't concern him, especially when it came to someone as dangerous as Meliodas.

Meliodas went back to watch the two spar, he wanted to start training under Yoriichi too, but his lazy ass wanted to just enjoy his time here. He was starting to consider his time here a vacation...

Suddenly, Meliodas took notice of something weird. Makima and Shoko, who had been about to leave the area, paused mid-step, their attention drawn to something in the distance. Even Brain and Yoriichi halted their sparring, their senses sharpening as the atmosphere shifted.

Meliodas raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued, he asked. "What's going—?"

Before he could finish, a deafening battle cry erupted from above. "HAAAAAAH!"

Everyone's eyes snapped upward just in time to see a massive figure plummeting from the sky. It was Gagaran, a memeber of Blue Rose the most famous adventurer group in Re-Estize kingdom, her muscular frame clad in gleaming, expensive dark purple armor that caught the sunlight like a beacon. Her medium-length blonde hair whipped wildly around her face as she descended, her Warhammer raised high above her head, ready to strike with devastating force.

Meliodas barely had time to register the attack before Kurogiri, who had been lurking in his shadow the entire time, acted. A swirling vortex of dark mist engulfed Meliodas, and in an instant, he was teleported to the other side of the training grounds, safely behind Yoriichi.

The move was seamless, almost effortless, and Meliodas found himself standing there, unharmed and slightly amused.

*BOOM!*

Gagaran's warhammer came down with a thunderous crash, the impact sending shockwaves rippling through the ground. The force of the blow created a massive crater, the earth splintering and crumbling under the sheer weight of her strike. Dust and debris erupted into the air, obscuring the area momentarily as the sound of the collision echoed like a cannon blast.

When the dust settled, Gagaran stood in the center of the crater, her Warhammer embedded deep into the ground. The crater itself was easily several meters wide, its edges jagged and uneven, a testament to the raw power behind her attack.

Gagaran straightened up, pulling her Warhammer free with a grunt. She glanced around, her eyes narrowing as she realized her target was no longer where she had expected him to be. "Huh. Not bad," she muttered, a grin spreading across her face.

Meliodas, now safely behind Yoriichi, was scared from the near death experience, but he quickly coolected himself crossing his arms and smirked. "Well, that was a cool entrance." His violet-purple eyes gleamed with amusement.

After all, with allies like Kurogiri and Yoriichi, he had little to worry about. Of course, if Kurogiri hadn't managed to teleport Meliodas in time, Yoriichi or Makima would have saved him easily from the attack, these two are way too fast.
