"Know where your biggest weakness is."
James' voice was calm, almost too calm for the situation at hand. His adoptive son, Asazo, grinned despite the discomfort of his injuries, not taking the moment too seriously. He had learned to fight in ways that most couldn't even begin to understand, but even his enhanced abilities were beginning to show their limits. The intense physical strength he possessed was unparalleled, but even he found himself occasionally struggling with certain things. His body, while powerful, had its weaknesses, and in this moment, those weaknesses were painfully clear.
Asazo's movements were sharp and precise, honed from years of battle. His abilities were strange, even to him. He could manipulate his own form, flickering in and out of spaces like a shadow, but even that was no match for the person standing before him—James, his father. The strange combination of speed, power, and sheer will made James an unyielding opponent. Every time Asazo tried to strike, James anticipated it—like trying to fight against the ocean, its depth and unpredictability always one step ahead.
Yet, in the face of Azuli, the Black Panther of Wakanda, Asazo found something to latch onto—a challenge that seemed like it could test even James' abilities. The Black Panther wasn't as predictable as the elder. He was a force of nature in his own right, one Asazo wasn't prepared to underestimate.
James shook his head, his expression one of concern. "Okay, his strength and that armor... you can't handle it right now. Don't take unnecessary risks."
Despite his father's words, Asazo was reluctant to stand down. This wasn't just another opponent; this was a challenge. This was the legendary Black Panther, a warrior in every sense of the word, and Asazo wasn't ready to give up just yet.
James sighed, pulling off the jungle jacket he had been wearing and tossing it aside. It wasn't much of a sacrifice—it was just a piece of clothing—but it was symbolic. His adopted son's focus was too sharp to be distracted by something so trivial. James stepped forward, the calm demeanor of a man who had faced countless battles and challenges before.
Azuli, the Black Panther, watched closely, confused by the strange figure that stood before him. Was this man trying to make peace, after seeing how futile it was to continue fighting? Or was he trying to prove something by recklessly stepping forward, unafraid of the Panther's might?
But then, Azuli noticed something—something unnerving. James' relaxed arm began to shift. His bones seemed to move and adapt as if the very structure of his body were changing in front of his eyes.
James' hands, once ordinary, now appeared to be covered in layers of thick, jagged bone. The bone structure of his arms had altered, shifting and growing. Bone claws, sharp and glimmering like jade, extended from the back of his hands, and his forearms seemed to grow harder, the flesh splitting and reshaping into something that looked more like an armor than skin. His forearms were now covered by bone shields, as though his own body had turned into a weapon. There was a faint glow to the surface, as though the very bone had been honed by modern technology, but it was still raw, still primal.
James gave a slight smile as he crossed his arms, his bone claws meeting with a sharp clash. The sound rang out like metal on metal, echoing across the battlefield. Azuli didn't flinch, but his eyes narrowed. This man was not what he seemed.
Then the battle truly began.
With an intense roar, Azuli launched himself toward James. His claws—sharp, vibrating with kinetic energy—sliced through the air. But James was ready. The Black Panther's claws clashed against the bone shields, sending sparks into the air as the two forces collided. The sheer force of Azuli's strike shook the ground beneath them. James, however, remained unfazed.
The impact was like nothing Azuli had ever encountered. The vibrating claws of Wakanda's greatest warrior met the hardened bone shields of James, and yet, there was no sign of the bone breaking. Instead, the Black Panther was thrown back, his body slamming into a massive boulder more than ten meters away. The boulder cracked under the force of the impact, the gold-plated armor Azuli wore sinking deep into the stone like steel striking masonry.
Azuli shook his head, trying to clear the ringing in his ears. He growled in frustration. This man—this white devil—was far more than just a mere outsider. He was something else entirely. Something impossible.
"Long live Wakanda!" Azuli shouted, his voice a battle cry that could shake the heavens. With a renewed determination, he folded his arms into a fighting stance and charged once more.
The Dora Milaje, his elite guard, moved swiftly to follow. Their presence on the battlefield was as graceful as it was deadly. Clad in red and gold, they formed a perfect circle around the two combatants, their spears gleaming in the sunlight. They had always been the pride of Wakanda, their skills honed through countless battles. But they, too, were facing something they had never encountered before.
Azazo, watching from the sidelines, couldn't help but notice the speed at which James moved. With a flick of his wrist, James vanished in a blur, reappearing moments later with a Dora warrior in his grip. Using his unique abilities, Asazo teleported behind another guard, his tail wrapping around her neck. With a sudden flash, both warriors were gone, teleported to an altitude that made it impossible for them to react before they fell.
The Dora Milaje's cries echoed in the air as their comrades plummeted to the ground below, but the battle continued.
James, still focused, observed the battle's unfolding dynamics. His claws were in perfect harmony with his body, moving with grace and deadliness. He could feel the power of the vibranium armor beneath his claws as he struck it time and time again. Every time his bone claws made contact, the vibranium didn't crack—it absorbed the kinetic force, dispersing it in ways James couldn't fully comprehend. The metal seemed alive, reacting with intelligence.
He paused for a moment, letting the battle slow down. He needed to learn more about this armor—the metal that was said to make Wakanda invulnerable.
Azuli's attacks came faster now, his claws a blur of motion. But James knew what he was doing. Each strike that hit his bone shield told him more about Azuli's abilities, about the armor, and about his own limits. His mind raced as he processed the information, analyzing, calculating. His bone shield, while strong, was beginning to show signs of wear.
Azuli pressed forward, his claws striking again, each strike harder than the last. The metal of the vibranium claws dug deep into James' defenses, leaving scratches on his bone shield.
But James smiled, an eerie calm overtaking him. Azuli's speed and strength had escalated, but James was in control.
Asazo, too, observed from the sidelines. He understood now. This was a battle of attrition—a battle of patience and endurance. And neither of these warriors would give up easily.
Azuli, noticing the gradual wear on James' exoskeleton, thought he had found a weak spot. He grinned, thinking to himself that this was the opening he had been waiting for. He attacked again, this time with ferocity. But even as his claws tore through James' defenses, there was no blood. No sign of injury. The wounds on James' chest were shallow, almost superficial.
James let out a soft chuckle. He knew the answer to the question in Azuli's mind. He knew exactly what was happening.
"Could it be," Azuli muttered to himself, "that the Buster Panther God no longer favors Wakanda?"
James, his chest now healed, took a step back, his bones shifting with ease. "Your Majesty the King of Wakanda, do you have any other tricks?" He asked, his tone playful, almost as if the battle were a casual conversation. "No super technology, perhaps?"
Azuli stood frozen for a moment, the weight of James' words settling over him. Something in his heart dropped, an unsettling realization creeping in.
The Panther was faltering.
